It's all about self-expression, there's no rules. But a blazer is a great essential for any dressy style, and you can obviously get them in black too. They're great for layering and since all black fits rely a lot on a strong silhouette, the padded shoulders of blazers and suit jackets can really enhance that exact thing. All black with a black turtleneck and a black jacket on top always looks great, for instance, and it screams business casual.
Why is it only ever color? Materials, fit, accessories, style, all of it gets overlooked. This isn't business casual, this is business sloppy If you want to go business casual, get some NOT TOO TIGHT pants. Chinos are great, any color or chinos. Can also go for trousers, higher waisted is the way to go if you're wearing a blazer Do not wear a white dress shirt if you're not going to wear a tie, you don't look casual, you look like you can't tie a tie. Instead, maybe try a camp collar shirt. If it's cold go for a sweater, hell even tshirts can work For your shoes, anything works really as long as it's not dress sneakers, sneakers can actually work with tailoring if you take care to style it well For the blazer, don't wear a smooth wool business suit. Go for something with texture. Tweed, linen, traditional wool, anything that isn't smooth and a polyester hell will work
