Nancy Wilson was insanely talented!! Pure class. When I was a kid, seemed like she was always on television. Shows like the Ed Sullivan Show, Hollywood Palace, the Andy Williams Show. She did 'em all. Unfortunately, I was too young to appreciate her then. But, now...well, it's different. Yes, I would say that Barbara Mason was influenced by MS. Wilson. That 'thing' you spoke of seems to be a hallmark of some of the great Jazz singers. The great Sarah Vaughn used to do something similar.

She had a big hit with "Broken-Hearted Melody" in 1959, but I wouldn't recommend it as indicative of her best, although I always kinda liked it, AND Ms. Vaughn never made a 'bad' recording. At the time, she even called it 'corny'. It was her foray onto pop. But, she's really known as a Jazz singer, primarily.
So happy the you tube algorithms brought me to this reaction. Like me, you seem like an Old soul in the things you observe about her. See, I grew up listening to Nancy Wilson when my parents would put her records on. I found myself just being so mesmerized by her voice, and yes, her beauty, elegance, class, and stage presence. She was one of the last legends in Jazz singing the world will ever witness. You have a new sub here, keep up the great work, and may your channel grow exponentially! 🙏🏽🤗

I knew about Marvin and Tammy and the temptations etc but really their singles the popular songs, so to find out that there was so much more not just to them but whole bunch of other artists and songs to me is crazy! I'm like a kid....And I love "real" singing.....like I heard the Supremes baby love but never heard love child, I never listened to an album so I'm locked in...my come up was the 80's but I was a hip-hop kid so even then I remember hearing songs from then but never "listened" to them ...this is a journey and Im for it. The sisters are beautiful the brothers sharp smh nothin like it...KK can you do me a solid?
