After all the florins I sunk into Monteriggioni during Assassin's Creed 2; it broke my heart starting Brotherhood to see it all torn down. I never saw the trailers before I played Brotherhood so it was a total surprise. It was cool to explore modern day Monteriggioni as Desmond though.

This mission was great you really feel like you’re defending a small micro state trying to fend off an empire and you know it’s a losing battle but you keep on fighting until there’s nothing left
I find it really fucking convenient how literally all the main villains are there on a battlefield just so they can all be established in the same scene 😂

Surprised to find a fresh comment here. To answer your question, I didn’t get to play the game but I did have the book and if I remember correctly, Leonardo was coaxed into helping the Borgia. He later helps Ezio anyways.As for giving Ezio a gun, the man didn’t need it. Young Ezio still had his body to rely on, and the Hidden Pistol in reality wouldn’t be as reliable as people think it would be aside from being a trump card for perilous situations. Old Ezio knows age is catching up to him, and needed the extra gear to make up for the loss of speed and reaction time.
