Can you do a video on the Giant Dipper in Santa Cruz, California? It's a very old historic wooden roller coaster made in the early 1900s that still runs today. It's had a few fatalities over the decades including a 15-year-old boy who randomly stood up on it and got crushed, some people claim it's haunted. I think it would make a very interesting video plot, I haven't seen any roller coaster channels talk about it yet.
I loved this video. However, I gotta represent for my home park and back it up. If I am not mistaken, Great American Scream Machine opened in 1973 at Six Flags Over Georgia as the tallest, longest, and fastest roller coaster in the world.

I think the tallest roller coaster I've been on was Nitro at six flags back in like 2005. Also, I got an amazing view because the cars got stuck at the top of the first hill. So I didn't really get to "ride" it the first time, but it certainly was interesting.
I used to think the worlds tallest rollercoaster was 100 feet tall. (I was 8). Then I saw boomerang at six flags Saint Louis and I asked my mom and she said “that’s about 100 feet” then my brain went “oh my, it’s the words tallest rollercoaster!” A couple years later and I learn abott ur kingda ka and learn that most coasters today are over 100 feet XD.

23:03 Yeah no kidding! It’s always intamin that breaks the records, the records the company broke are the following:
Tallest
Fastest
Most Expensive
16:40 One of my favorite rides ever is the Magnum. On god, there’s a never a line for it at Cedar Point. It’s such a hidden gem.
amazing editing & narration!
Giant Coaster opened 7 years before GA's GASM and was around 30 feet taller. Also, I love SFOG and I'm excited to go back 😁.
Brought someone to cedar point that had been to six flags many times and he actually liked the dragster over kingda ka saying that the dragster was smoother and felt faster for some reason
Hey, great video as always! I bet I'm not the only one of your fans from continental Europe, is there any chance you could include stats in meters (height, length) and kilometers per hour (speed) in your videos?
Right now I have to stop the video, go to rcdb and check these stats myself, and it would be far more comfortable to just have it next to feet and miles directly in the video :D
Thanks in advance and keep up the great work!
Long live the king🔥👑
Rest in peace kingda ka 2005-2024🕊❤️
Yoo I actually did this on my second channel "ZeroG-Thrills" but you did it better, great video.
Six Flags be like: We did it once, and we're gonna fuckin' do it again.
Falcons flight on 600 kgs of coke
Falcon's Flight enters the chat.
hey when you were talking about the shuttle coasters, there was also another one, it was the thunder looper at Alton Towers in the UK
I think the tallest roller coaster I've been on was Nitro at six flags back in like 2005. Also, I got an amazing view because the cars got stuck at the top of the first hill. So I didn't really get to "ride" it the first time, but it certainly was interesting.
Great video. "Top Thrill Dragster" is my favorite. Mainly because of the launch and approach speed but also because it goes all the way over.
6:48 america lost their biggest and brightest thinker. The mans ideas were so bright it turned his head into a lightbulb. RIP
Not to nit pick, but tidal wave was also at the Marriotts in Gurnee, IL i think they're the same. Correct me if I am wrong.
It was, but the general point I was making is that the model as a whole was a record breaker.
The one thing I learned through all your videos with historical backgrounds is that every single amusement park in the US at some point burned to the ground.
All of these companies creating coasters that are just a few feet above the record.
intamin: Hold my beer
falcons flight is gonna out do the record but with more than 170 ft over the top, and obviously, its from intamin
Never knew mind bender was the tallest at one point
This was extremely interesting and entertaining. The research and editing prowess on display in this piece are more professional than 95% of what I see on YT. I know your passion is coasters and I don’t know how much of what we see/hear is your own work vs. that of partners, but whatever effects Covid eventually wreaks on park viability worldwide, you have a knack for content and will be able to present for any number of industries. Keep up the good work!
I was born and raised in NE Ohio and spent my summers going to Cedar Point & Kings Island in the 80’s. I have to say I’m disappointed that you didn’t mention The Gemini coaster built in 78 @ 125’ an awesome wooden racing coaster that still stands.
Although the structure is wood, the track is tube, so considered a steel coaster, but yes, deserves a mention.
evolution of worlds shortest coasters now
That could be an April Fools Joke.
I remember the wild one always being one of my favorites when I was younger. I had no clue it was so historic. Thanks for this video!
Lets pour one out for our boy Falcon's Flight.
i like how you mentioned mindbender since its super iconic but on january 30 2023 it permenantly shut down and was dismantled to make way for new atractions and they are family thrills inside of a big area and i would love for you to talk about it in a video
Hey! I’ve loved ur vids! Can u do a vid on best six flags coasters? Please include six flags over ga thanks!
honestly, the kingda ka surprisingly gets scarier every time you go on it, theres a sign that states "On occasion, the Kingda Ka train will not make it over the hill, the ride has been designed to safely roll back down the hill." the scare factor of that sets in and it feels more likely to happen, living in Nj, ive been on it many times but it hasnt happened to me im pretty lucky
I know Kingda ka was actually featured in math problems in some textbooks.
@Ringsofearth I’ve seen it in physics books too. I’ve actually rode TTD in 2010.
I remeber that Cedar Point’s coasters circa 2004-2005 were featured in my 7th grade math Textbook.
Lucky you. When I was in middle school, our math textbooks had Manhattan Express on them.
@@BAKU2K2 what state? Nevada?
@@DoswarePictures Florida. (unless if you're referring to the coaster)
Every tall, dangerous coaster: I am the most dangerous coaster ever!
Action Park: Alright everybody! We need some plastic bottles and masking tape! We are making another coaster
Action Park Employee: We ran out of masking tape though!
Action Park. What! How! We had 200 Tonnes of it!
Action Park Employee: There was the 9999999999999999999th lawsuit and they took away the masking tape!
Action Park: Ok then! Get the emergency Flex Seal!
Action Park Employee: We don’t have any! We can’t use it to build a.. safe attraction
Action Park: How dare you use those words! GET ME SOME PVA GLUE NOW!
Pour one out for all those Arrow Loopers...
"No manufacturer has ever managed to build higher than Kingda Ka" I think it may be more accurate to replace the word "managed" with "bothered". Eltororyans video on Maverick is a great testament to this
yall the "Wild One" has been called Lil Dipper for about 5 years now
I recently rode Kingda Ka and it’s insane! When you go up the top hat, it’s so high that your ears start to pop
Looks like everyone’s too afraid to say this, so as a Japanese I’m gonna say this.
It takes some f***ing balls to name a roller coaster that’s just 50 miles away from Nagasaki “Atomic.” I honestly think it’s hilarious.
That was a great video!
How about doing the history of the largest drop?
Me: YAY! Another upload
TPC: no it is a re-upload
Me: aw man...
you forgot fury 325 as the full circuit lift hill coaster . i think it definitely should of got a mention, but awesome video overall
I thought desperado held the title for a short time, in primm Nevada. Also Viper at magic mountain?
Desperado opened after The Big One, and Viper opened after Magnum XL-200.
Viper held the record for the tallest looping coaster for many years tho.
@@ThemeParkCrazy Correct. However, Desperado did outdo PMBO in equalling Steel Phantom's drop record (225ft), so could be considered the Real co-tallest full circuit at that point. Also, important we don't forget Goliath @ SFMM (255ft drop) surpassing Fujiyama (230) three months before opening of MF.
Honorary Record Holders.
Btw..... OUTSTANDING effort TPC :)
Coaster: *has a “.” in the stats
Theme Park Crazy: I’m gonna pretend I didn’t see that.
Hi, considering there are Roller Coasters enthusiasts watching all over the world, can you consider adding metric system information to your next videos. Its just a quick info that would be useful to the rest of the world.
Love your videos! Please make captions/subtitles available if you can
It wouldn't be a Theme Park Crazy video if it wasnt a reupload
I'm going to carowinds tmr and can't wait to ride the fury 325
It’s really fun
Aw you forgot The Fury 325 in Charlotte, NC!
Fury 325 opened in 2015 long after Kingda Ka took the record
Great video man, u damn well did ur research. Keep up the great work man!
I’d like to see the evolution of the largest drop too
I want to ride kingda ka. I think they should keep it around. Mind you I'm a year late on commenting but hey. If you have the tallest roller coaster in the would wouldn't youi keep it?
Good video but you did skip over Steel Phantom at Kennywood. It’s second drop surpassed Magnum in 1991.
The tallest coaster I've ever been on is Goliath at Six Flags Magic Mountain! that first drop has stayed with me since my first time on that coaster. I miss riding Roller Coasters. :'( the thrill is unlike any other.
