I think Schiller came to Marta's house to see if the kidnapping had any residual effects on Marta's feelings toward him. He when he mentions Natalie she uncrosses her arms and walks towards him. When he brings up killing the other kidnapper she doesn't back away. She's softened and he wants her to go back to hating him so she won't try to get closer to him. He liked being her hero and that scared the hell out of him, so the 'favor' speech is him shoving her away so he won't be tempted.
Me neither! It makes sense the attraction is fearful. If Schiller thought that Marta might make him weak, he'd kill her. In The Recorder I got the sense he was almost hoping she was wired so he could kill her and not have to deal with the attraction. His expression in 1x06 after Marta's 'thanks' shows he's affected by her and that is worries him. Right now he's trying to prove to himself that he's strong enough to drive his feelings out. We'll see how that works out...
Agreed, also did you noticed when he asks How Natalie his voice softens and his head tilts slightly to one side, I got a sense of genuine concern that he couldn't control, which probably scared him as well, but Im so pissed that there is no new episode Sunday! Someone posted on there FB page that ithey wont show the episode 7 till 4/28 did you here anything about this?
I think you're right, its not just Marta, its the whole situation. He has been put in the role of hero, not just to Marta, but to Natalie. Even Schiller isn't immune to the natural emotional consequence of this experience, which I'm sure frustrates him. I did see the episode 7 wouldn't be on for a few weeks, but only because I'm obsessively stalking the show online. I'm hoping ABC steps up their game promoting it, because thus far they have done $*** to generate new interest!
Okay, so we are five episode's in now and I'm still obessed with the Schiller/Marta dynamic. That relationship really is the core of this show for me. I'm so looking forward to seeing the cracks in Schiller's character. I LOVED the moment last episode where Marta stripped and he turned around before ordering her to get dressed and leave. Alexandra was right, he digs her and he is SO not happy about it. The lust is normal, but the fact he turned around shows he's trying to surpress it.
Yes I got that too from him when she moved a tad bit closer and thanked him.. I saved them so I keep going back and looking at some scenes, His eyes look away from her intermittently as if he's fighting the desire and attraction, then he lets her know it was not a favor... more like he's convincing himself
Sorry, I was unclear. The part about Marta getting involved with a personal aspect of Schiller's life, namely his father was in another Goran interview, along with some hints that if an attraction were to form on Schiller's side it would be dangerous for Marta. Her father having Evan killed is just a guess. He was about to turn in the family, a fact which Mike was shouting at the wedding. It would also explain the missing drugs and Irwin saying, "Now you care about her?" last episode.
I read somewhere that Marta accidently get involved in his personal life (something to do with his father) and for a second she gets to see a different side to him and she will help him in some way, making him slightly fond of her. An attraction on Schiller's side will form, which will be dangerous for Marta, because emotional weakness is distraction.Marta will find out that her Dad killed Evan and in a moment of rage and emotional turmoil she'll sleep with Schiller as.a screw my family gesture.
I'm not sure how well Goran understood Marta's backstory. Marta was always aware her family was Bratva and that her husband was smuggling pot, she just didn't know the details. The way she had always dealt with that aspect of her family life is by looking away and not asking questions. Still, I don't mind too much considering how much I liked his Schiller. I hope I'm not reading into this interview too much, but I think I see an affair in Marta and Schiller's future. Fun!
I meant 'affair' as in passionate, but not stable or long-lasting romantic relationship, not 'affair' as in a dalliance outside a marriage. It wouldn't be cheating, at least not in the traditional sense of infidelity. Although in Marta's own mind it might feel like being unfaithful to the memory of her husband/her Bratva family. My prediction is an attraction will develop that she'll act on when she discovers her father was the one who killed Evan (I'm just guessing here, but it makes sense).
Anyone see the promo for 1x07 "The Coke" (Apr28)?? I'm so stoked for this next episode...! >> (watch?v=U119P6nAk-E) The Schiller/Marta chemistry is ridiculously intense! I'm really hoping this series makes it to another season cuz I'm enjoying the hell out of the insane push/pull magnetism of their relationship.
I hope RW doesn't go the way of Fox's Mob Doctor. That show wasn't terrible, but it made a key mistake that this show doesn't. 1) Protagonist FORCED into mob life. MD's Grace is offered an easy out in the pilot which she doesn't take. RW's Marta considers all options 1)FBI, no because she can't betray her family 2)Run, (Schiller would find her), 3)Pay him off (Schiller says no). Marta's position is sympathic, and her relationships with those in the mob are complex, which makes for good drama.
Unfortunately, that's probably where their headed, an affair. Which I can see coming from him, but not her. She has so many negative feelings about him, I don't see her realistically overcoming them to have an affair with him. That he has killed and even threatened her would turn some women on, but I don't think that is who Marta is being portrayed as.

This show is full of suspense! I loved it! Goran is back ;) Voli Goran!

Well he says on one interview that when they do move toward the attraction part it will be a fearful one... I cant wait!!
