I had the pleasure of working security at his very last concert in 2016 at the Forum in Los Angeles. He seemed very happy and put on a great show in front of his adoring fans. At the end of his encore, I helped him walk down the semi-dark stairs at the rear of the stage. He thanked me for the help, and I told him that he put on a great show...2 days later he died of a heart attack....RIP Juan Gabriel

Fun fact, this concert was held in Palacio de bellas artes which is the biggest and most prestigious venue for cultural and classical music performances in Mexico. Juan Gabriel was the first popular artist to perform there and opened those doors for everyone else.
Everyone else can not perform at Bellas Artes Palace.
It was a popular saying back in the day that "Juan Gabriel is not for Bellas Artes"; after such performance people started saying that same thing but adding "Bellas Artes is for Juan Gabriel"

The singing is excellent, technically right on the money while delivering real emotion. The Mariachi band is really good, not La Cucaracha style for American tourists but the real thing for Mexicans. The orchestra and singers behind him are so so good. I love your reaction and analysis. The editing is very nice and entertaining. I love it all! 🎺

His performances were always this great. There's one time he performed at a dinner with the governor of my state. He made the governor and his wife to dance on top of the table! He always involved the audience so much and always made funny and sassy comments.
I never knew of sadness, or of tears that would make me cry. I knew of caresses and tenderness because as a small child, this is what my mother taught me. This and many more things. I never suffered, I never cried. I was very happy, I lived very well. I lived something special, something beautiful, something divine I want to live happiness. I knew of happiness, the beautify of life but nothing about solitude.
Love your freshness and emotion in your reactions, and the fact that you love mexican culture. Our beloved Juan Gabriel is the best we ever had. You have a new fan.

This was one of his best concerts ever, Prime Juan Gabriel at his best. To think these didn't realize the show they were about to see when they sat down in their seats that night. I wish I could've been there to experience this beautiful performance.

People forget that Mexico has had a lot of immigrants from all over the world. Russian, Germany, holland, Jews, Italy and of course Spain. When was having a big hunger after the second world war Mexico send a lotbof help and food. Russia also has always been a friend to Mexico. They send a lot of medical supplies on the last hunger earthquake. Mexico has always increased all other countries.
You can spend all day comparing but he adds the divo factor. His nick name was el divo de Juarez. Plus he composed over 1000 songs and most were hits sung by dozens of the most famous singer at the time and now.
