Wow, I never knew these facts, techniques, and glitches. Thanks competitive street fighter 5 player Brian_F who's been playing fighting games for over a decade!
1000000% I've been watching his content a lot for inspiration on how to package knowledge about a game into digestible and entertaining formats. He's a machine
Haha i just made the same comment before I read the comments cause I remember Brian mentioning Matt's clip channel in a stream. I think it's great and I hope for more content and hopefully it attracts more viewers, subs and players! Also I am 1000% here for the Bubblaine music.
Learning about tech and interactions, practical and impractical options, and common or niche situations is hella interesting. Definitely wanna see what else you have cooked up.
Since you mentioned G's idle animation attack, you should mention Akuma's taunt attack in the next video. That one actually has some uses in-game if you want to BM your opponents on stun. It's a very strong attack by itself (+22 on block launcher that's fully cancelable into anything you want like G's idle attack), just quite slow to come out.
Yea! Brian could use Tokido disrespecting Punk in the EVO GF with the taunt combo. I forget who it was, but I think a Japanese Birdie player won a ranked match against an Ibuki with his booger flick.
G's animation does a lot of stun and it cannot be quick risen. Birdie booger you can't V-Shift. Akuma regular taunt looks sweet as hell when you jump for a combo after he punches the ground.
I don't even play SF But I could watch this all day. Something about Brian being so chill and his jabs like "whether this is considered a bug depends on if you play Dhalsim". Keep up the good vibes and great content dude.
really enjoyed this kind of content as a nice change of pace to compliment the more casual discussion/content farming vids and sets/tournament runs. have some engagement to sacrifice to the almighty algorithm.
I really like this informative style of content from you, you have a good voice for it and the content itself was quite interesting. I’d definitely watch more stuff like it from you!
I see you Professor F. I think is one of my favorite videos you've put out. Aside from G, Mika and instant overhead I didn't know any of the things you explained.
I’ve learned more about fighting games in the few months that I’ve been watching this channel and dropping in to streams than I have in a few years of playing them myself. Seeing some of that niche knowledge organized into a video like this is really cool. I’m excited for whatever you’ve got in store for the future.
I would 1,000% love to see more of this series. The chill tone and comprehensive explanations made it a very pleasant watch and even a good video to share with people who aren’t super into the genre. A+
cool little showcase here! that mika one especially's gonna make my friend extremely happy to learn and me extremely unhappy to play against. hope we can see other stuff like this some time!
I watched this the night it dropped and learned about using jumpcancel grabs to reversal command grab with Abigail. I thought it was super cool and practically useful to know, even if I don't play any characters who can use it. Then 3 days later I saw MenaRD use that tech in SFL and I recognized what was going on. I would not have understood what I saw if I had not seen it here. Great video as always.
That was an awesome video! I didn't know a lot of the things in here, especially the jump cancel tech, left me going "woooooootttt!?" for a bit there. I like this format of video too, I would definitely enjoy it if you made another one of these. Cheers, Brian!
I don't play SFV but watch a lot of game plays and highlights but never saw anyone do the Abigail counter projectile tech. That's why I'm subbed to this channel.
Sir I applaud you for this content. Much of this I did not know. I have been trying since the release to learn about the game but my local scene is non existent and not everyone is willing to share info like this. The frame one cancel from a normal into super is amazing advice. Also the jump cancel explains a lot of missed throws on Abigail. Thanks bro
The cancel mechanic @ 7:56 is essentially just a kara-cancel. It's like this to help leniency with button inputs. Say for example you do an EX Fireball using 2 punch buttons. If this mechanic was not in the game, then there's a chance players might accidentally press the 1st punch button 1-frame before the 2nd punch button, resulting in a non-EX Fireball to come out, instead of EX. However, since this 1-frame leniency is in the game, you can more consistently get your button inputs read correctly even if you are 1-frame off. This applies to all moves, not just normals. Since SFV only allows canceling on frame 1, it means the traditional application of kara-cancels from older SF games is not relevant in SFV. The game simply doesn't allow you to do that. And SFV went out of its way to specifically patch out normals that moved character positioning far forward on frame 1, to avoid the typical "kara throw" option from previous SF titles. However, there are still some really really minor kara-throw options on characters, but it's so minor that no player I know of cares to use them. There are always exceptions to every rule, though. There are still some characters that get use out of kara-canceling 1st frame on some moves, like Nash's MK Scythe xx EX Scythe kara-cancel greatly boosts the range of his EX Scythe by about 50% or more. This is because MK Scythe moves Nash really far forward on frame 1 (in niche character interactions he can even phase through people with MK Scythe due to how far distance it travels forward in 1 frame).
3:43 I learned the hard way. When my friend and I began playing SFV we had a match and he told me not to let him charge his v skill, I decided to let him charge it and proceeded to die in one command grab.
These are actually so cool. Street Fighter V looks right up my alley- I dont know why I spent so many years listening to people saying this game was lame
Brian: I’m a “Competitive player”
The viewers at home: “Ayo, Izzat the PRO PLAYAH??”
Brian "I am not a Pro Player" F
"Avid streamer says he is a pro player. WHAT HAPPENS NEXT WILL SHOCK YOU!!"
Wow, I never knew these facts, techniques, and glitches. Thanks competitive street fighter 5 player Brian_F who's been playing fighting games for over a decade!

this was a really good style of video, i learned a lot and i found the knowledge interesting. It would be cool to see you do another video like this!
Your delivery on "whether or not this is considered a bug is dependent on whether or not you play Dhalsim" is _perfect_
I like the border to show this isn't a normal vid, and the vid itself is great
I'm glad that worked, no lie making that border in photoshop took more time than any other part of this video lol
Based
Brian upload? Pog
Brian you've just shaken the whole meta up with that G idle pose tech.
this was a nice change of pace
this is absolutely inspired by matt's/Dark viperAU's facts and glitches videos for GTA and i damn love the idea to make one for SFV
1000000% I've been watching his content a lot for inspiration on how to package knowledge about a game into digestible and entertaining formats. He's a machine

Last time I was this early, TAP was still broken.

Toss in the fact about birdies idle animation. He picks his nose and flicks it at the other player and it actually is a projectile that does damage.
Yea! Brian could use Tokido disrespecting Punk in the EVO GF with the taunt combo.
I forget who it was, but I think a Japanese Birdie player won a ranked match against an Ibuki with his booger flick.
Akuma's idle stomp is also an attack. It hits in the middle of his body so it's kind of hard to actually get hit by it
Akuma can punish Abigail's critical art on block with his taunt lol. I learnt that from bafael
G's animation does a lot of stun and it cannot be quick risen. Birdie booger you can't V-Shift. Akuma regular taunt looks sweet as hell when you jump for a combo after he punches the ground.

This answered many questions that came to mind in many play situations i found myself while relearning to play SF again, shoutout 🙌🏾.
Can we have more of these?? This is amazing!! I'd watch if this became a series!
The Dhalsim bit made me laugh. Good video, Brian.
really enjoyed this kind of content as a nice change of pace to compliment the more casual discussion/content farming vids and sets/tournament runs. have some engagement to sacrifice to the almighty algorithm.
I really like this style of content, I hope you do more like it. I usually watch your content when im in class
I really like this style of content alongside highlights of your streams. I think it's a good balance
I really like this informative style of content from you, you have a good voice for it and the content itself was quite interesting. I’d definitely watch more stuff like it from you!

Really interesting stuff. Some practical, others not. Nice to see this change of pace. Keep it up, Brian.
It’s different hearing educational Brian.. love it haha. I say keep em coming. Whatever floats the boat I’m learning everyday.

Well that's interesting, I hadn't thought about Brian making more heavily edited content, this is a lovely surprise, man
Just doing my part to get more content like this! Great vid papa Brian !!

Love these kinds in depth looks at game mechanics.

Love the video! Would love to see more stuff like this
There's something very relaxing about this video.

Probably my favorite video of yours, I really like the direction you went with this one. Good stuff Brian 👏👏
Thanks. I play Mika and didn't know about the massive super range in the corner. Good video.
3:43 I learned the hard way. When my friend and I began playing SFV we had a match and he told me not to let him charge his v skill, I decided to let him charge it and proceeded to die in one command grab.
Dumpster school started, boys!
Really enjoyed this video. Informative and chill.
I like these types of videos, Brian. Very different, but very very entertaining!
I'm telling you that you are going to be the most popular SFV content creator on RUclips by doing these kind of videos. Keep it up :D
As a new SF5 player I learned a ridiculous amount from this, cheers Brian!
I much prefer this style of video to your normal stream highlights videos. I'd love to see more videos like this.
@3:20 - it does not apply only to command grabs. All throws are powered up including normal throws and her hit-grab air throw.
Love the format!
im loving the variety!
Great Video Brian👍🏽
