I feel strange commenting because I am a 55 year old female;I'm assuming most posters are young? I am here because I discovered "Fireflies" while waiting for an appointment at my doctor's clinic;I am a patient who has treatment resistant depression;I have had my meds adjusted to treat my depression. I heard this song in the waiting room and WOW! THE WORLD EXPLODED! I had to ask the name of the song I was listening to and now I AM AN OWL CITY FAN! LOVE THE MUSIC!!! Thank you Adam Young for lifting me up out of my depression!!!
I have heard about and known some people who were having hard times with depression, also. Adam's music somehow has something that seems to really reach us all and it does seem to be able to help those with problems. Srsly, I had read in newspapers online at least two cases of people who were considering or going to commit suicide and hearing Adam's music stopped them. Like Adam, I think that because of his faith, his music has become this beautiful, uplifting, inspired gift that was guided perhaps by God. He is a uniquely talented guy with "a beautiful mind". I hope he keeps writing music that inspires and heals us all. (pray that the tough music industry doesn't change him...that's what I worry about! He's sensitive & shy & I wouldn't want them to "eat him alive", you know.)
He gets so exhausted from singing lol but what matters most is that he's always making such beautiful songs by himself- it takes so much just to do that. :)
+hammolambchops yeah cause he was only getting on average, he said, about 4 hrs of sleep each night because of his insomnia. So he got a lot of colds all the time and was ofc exhausted a lot...so it's really amazing he could still do so well in spite of all that!

This music is literally the soundtrack to my life. I'm one of those strange (and I'll argue blessed) people who cannot survive without a song in their head, and that song fits their emotions perfectly.

To quote a Friend of mine, and expressing the feelings I couldn't put into words."I was kindof over fireflies. That intro made me fall in love with the song all over again ^.^ I love you Adam
You know, people always insult my taste in music and say "Owl City sucks." And you know what? Screw those people Adam's music is like an escape from reality and makes everything better. Don't let people get you done about it :) especially guys like me XD
I am not from the US, and to watch this performance is both beautiful and inspiring, but it's also really sad because I think my biggest dream at the moment is to be able to witness this breathtaking spectacle live, in person and to be able to be a few steps away from Adam -my idol-, but it just seems impossible right now. I'm sure one day I'll be part of that crowd and when that day comes I'll be the happiest guy alive. Makes me wanna cry just to watch this video, he's my god.
i think adam is an amazing performer his shows are simle compared to others yet its amazing to be there! gaga spends millions on hers and i admit they look good but adam is an amazing performer he has the nicest personality hes normal he is cute funny and you cant help but love his music! and he has amazing lyrics unlike ra ra ra uh uh uh roma roma ma gaga oh la la or p-p-p-poker face or pa pa paparazzi... Adam honestly doesn't sing as well live, but the whole point about Owl City is that you're supposed to enjoy his awesome lyrics, arrangement and the effort he and the rest have put in to make his music a success, instead of just listening out for the quality of his voice. :)
The dvd? it's on amazon :) I bought it for like.. $13 i think. At first I didn't know it was only available on there and I searched every store for it. Hahaha.
