I second not getting ahead of yourself. I've collected and got rid of a couple comic collections in my life. I've recently gotten back into picking up some omnibuses. My rule for collecting now is not to order one until I'm nearly finished with the current one I'm reading. Remember this is a hobby that lends itself to running before we walk in regards to collecting. Take your time. Savor each book w/o the compulsion to rush because you have a bunch more you bought waiting to be read. As Illuminerdy mentioned, don't worry about stuff going out of print. If it's good enough to stand the test of time it will be reprinted. And if not, there will always be something else to read that you'll likely enjoy.
That was an awesome video. I liked how in depth you went with the formats. I am definitely guilty of overbuying. Sometimes its just hard to resist, but that also means i have 4-5 Omnis tbr at all times. So i guess my new years resolution will be to stop, or minimize that.
@@Hardcovered I’m sure it will come, reprints usually shadow MCU releases and with the MCU born again coming out eventually it’s only a matter of time we get daredevil releases.
I definitely got wrapped up in the fomo culture of collecting comics. But hey, I’m still young, won’t expect to have the budget that I have now when there’s babies on the way.
Great advice, I'd like to put my 2 cents by saying if you live very close to the Amazon wharehouse your buying from the limited packaging isn't an issue but if not Amazon is a terrible option unfortunately.
Get some bloody bookshelves sorted before you buy. I quickly filled my bookshelf up and had to stack them for a while and that is not good way to store them long term at all.
@@Illuminerdy_ It kinda sneaks up on you, you do make a good point about being patient when buying books, there are some that out of print and they go for ridiculous prices but then they get reprinted and their value plummets.

@@swampcrypt I was always told it can compress the pages and spine and just believed that. but I’m not sure if that’s true or not. I mainly just like them vertical with spindles out ascetically.

Like I would buy part one and 3 and look for part two yet part two was more expensive than just buying a different printing of them all together yet I already had part 1 and 3. So if I just did my research I would of had it all for a better price
That is a very valid point and I’ve made that mistake a lot as well. So many times I’ve bought a Vol.1 or 3 just to find out that the other books are out of print and super expensive. Very very very good addition and thank you for the comment!
Good video. Mostly get trade paperbacks. Omnibus if I it cost less. Main thing is space. Mostly Amazon and other outlets. Thinking about going digital because running out of room
Hi, have you heard any information on the Savage sword of Conan omnibus, will they be continuing past number 8? They're only about half way through the magazine collection.
I would assume marvel will probably not be continuing the Conan omnibus line or any collected line due to marvel no longer having the rights to the character so they really wouldn’t be able to publish any material involving or including Conan. Hope that answer helps
Agreed. I feel some "must reads" get shoved down your throat that by the time you get to read them they cannot live up to the hype. I had a few stories end up like this. It wasn't until the second read through a while later where I actually enjoyed the story more.
@@nicklor24 me to man. Was just talking to a guy about ice cream man and how I went in with high expectations and it honestly hurt my experience somewhat. It’s best to watch reviews and still go in objectively or watch after reading. That’s why I try to make my reviews as objective and personal to my taste as possible but obviously you can only do so much when being a part of the community.

Space is 100% a huge issues a lot of people sleep on. Great addition!
I fought digital for a ong time. But now I enjoy Marvel Unlimited. Lots of value for the price. I only order phisyical for my perceived real gems.

A lot of must reads could be good or bad. Some must reads are crap and overrated. Depends on what you like. Never over buy. Waiting game.
I agree A lot of stuff is subjective so buy what you like and don’t worry about others. I 100% agree with that and a lot of ppl forget that.
