Conservatives 'will act on what Gambling Commission say' after general election bets

- Northern Ireland Secretary Chris Heaton-Harris has said it was right to wait for the outcome of the Gambling Commission investigation before taking action.
He insisted it was the correct course of action to take, even when a Conservative candidate had admitted to betting on the timing of a vote being called.

Gambling is not illegal in the UK, but the date of the election is not random chance like the lottery or determined by the variables such as past performance, weather and track conditions, condition of the runner, abilities of the rider... etc... It is a decision by one person. Generally, members of the public do not know when the decision is made or what that decision is until announced by the PM. Anyone with prior knowledge or insider information should be banned from betting on the outcome. Any Tory MP who bet on this date of the election should not stand in the coming election. In essence, they can not be trusted to hold the office of an MP or Minister in government.
A teacher is accused of something and is immediately suspended and this is the case in most professional organisations it is not saying guilty it is acknowledging that it could be serious. This is the same response to partygate can't do anything until police finish investigation

Because the police officer was suspended according to labour laws. There are no MPs at the moment since the parliament has been dissolved; technically they are all unemployed at the moment and labour laws don't apply. This won't last though. Once the new parliament is in session, there should be suspensions and recalls for any MP who is involved in the betting scheme. So get ready for the by-elections!

Imagine before the budget an MP got information about what it entails he could make a fortune on the stock market, that is insider trading the same as a MP knowing the exact date of the election and placing a bet is fraud an should be treated the same as insider trading,,simply fraud
