If YOU are watching this video, YOU are BREAKING the fragrance RUclips algorithm, this is already doing about 3 times better than expected in views. Thanks for taking a chance and being awesome.
Every time I watch a short form video and wish it were longer (for people without short attention spans) I get slightly annoyed. This long form is SO much better for certain types of videos. Now give us more reviews by Dov Lazlow please.
Thank you for valuing your time, passion, our time, our passion. Fck RUclips’s inhuman algorithms. We are thankful for connecting with us, human to human. It's SO refreshing.
I’m moving out in two weeks and getting married two weeks afterwards. I’m listening to this while I run my last errands at my parents house. Thank you * George for providing this long video. You released your Homme 1 hour video when I needed that one also. Crazy how time works. I’m so glad your back to doing videos. They are much needed.
I’m wearing Lalique Encre Noir Extreme on this cold cloudy day. It has just finished raining last night. The air feels perfect. I’ve been waiting for this weather for months. I’m still in a polo and shorts. That’s what Los Angeles will do to you.
I genuinely love this format because it’s like a fragrance podcast and how many of those are there? I’d definitely tune in weekly for the fragrance apprentice “podcast”.
I always loved to listen to those hour long analytical videos about movies or shows while doing everyday tasks. Getting the chance to do that with one of my favourite topics ever is highly appreciated. Thanks George!
This sort of content (as with much of your content) is exactly what fragrance RUclips needs. Heartfelt, serious, not shallow. I feel like I’ve learnt something rather than just being told to buy something, despite it being a top 10.
I'm only 10 minutes into the video but I can emphatically answer "yes," please consider doing more videos like these going forward from time to time. It's fun, relaxing, and I learn a thing or two about fragrances I don't have and may want to sample. Even if I'm multi-tasking, I enjoy listening for the previously mentioned reasons and it also keeps me from potentially getting overwhelmed. It feels like when you're in the process of being productive but have a friend with you to keep things light.
Even if I didnt personally enjoy this format (which i definitely do), I'd still ve hugely supportive if this video. When a creator understands how to milk the algorithm, but choses to do something completely different for reasons of art and integrity: that's worth a like.
I always appreciate these videos where you really take your time to express your feelings about the scents you love. Your metaphors are well thought out, your demeanor is honest and natural, and overall, you seem like you're having a much better time. Thanks for caring and for putting effort into these videos where other people would simply phone them in. You really do make me appreciate fragrances more
It’s great to see a content creator doing what they want as opposed to what the algorithm demands. There’s a definite audience for more considered long-form content. After all, Joe Rogan doesn’t appear to do too badly from it.
I love the imaginative yet realistic and honest way you describe fragrances. How fragrances capture people, places, and things in remarkable, mutifacted detail is fascinating. I haven't seen a lot of people approaching fragrance this way. I wouldn't mind more of this video style at all. Although I think you should do both long and short style videos.
Hey George, I am not sure what the rush is on fragrance reviews. It’s about time someone mixed it up and did it differently. I enjoy the poetry in the description delivery. Fragrance is an art form and should never be rushed. Bravo George. More like this please.
Loved it! Very much podcast vibes. Which could be cool vibe for you George. I know that your skills in filmmaking create a great product but your great chemistry with other creators, your vast knowledge and great take on the industry as a whole would make a great combination for a podcast.
It really was a nice change of pace for a fragrance video. It was almost like ASMR at times, which is not meant to come across as a dig at all. Excellent video, George, I really enjoyed it.
I do appreciate this style and the longer in-depth explanations of the history of the notes/house's. While i don't have time to watch the whole video at the moment. This is exactly the type of content i appreciate for my drives home from work and will definitely be listening to this today. Thank you for the time and effort put into this. 🙏🏻
I love this. Truth be told, not to be mean or anything, but the reality is that most other channels don't take this kinds of chances with longer form content because, simply put, they just wouldn't be able to deliver.
One thing I appreciate about this video is that there's no reason to hide the picks from the chapters or description, and you pick a few of them up & talk about something else before announcing it. It's a small thing, but a lot of fragrance top 10s are so secretive of what's next to try to make sure you watch everything for the reveals. In a long form video, there's no need for it because you're not just here for a name & placement
LOVE this format. So glad you took the chance. I admittedly didn’t watch all the way through in one sitting and did take advantage of the chapters but this was great. I’d watch more of this style .
I totally agree with you the price of neroli portofino by TF is an insult considering that formulation is one they teach every perfumer. Case and point 4711 cologne smells literally like neroli portofino, and bvlgari wood neroli which I love and is one of my signature scent, and also fun fact neroli isn’t being used a lot in perfumes because it’s really expensive now since it’s one of the secret oils in Coca Cola, it’s known coke buys up almost all the neroli in production, and also the method of extraction for neroli is pretty difficult, all these factors into why neroli isnt used as much in perfumes as they once were.
George, I love this format. I tell my friends who get into fragrances that you are the RUclipsr to watch because of this exact video style. The way you speak in detail about fragrances and your own person experiences are like no other.
Loving this new style video George, it’s soft easy to listen to and not rushed. I love seeing this relaxed and real you, just taking it easy and talking about what you love and enjoy. I would definitely recommend more of this longer style content, keep it going. Also I own 100ml wood neroli and love it. It’s strange because I never really got on with neroli scents a few years back. Until I was in the Hermes store one day and sprayed their Eau De Neroli EDC. It changed my opinion completely, I then also received a sample of Bvlgari wood neroli when buying their wood essence frag. I enjoyed it so much I went out and purchased a full bottle. 😊
This was absolutely superb. I really appreciate you doing this, so much more genuine and it felt like sitting down with a close friend for a coffee and actually just sharing the love of this odd little hobby. In depth, personal and with real care - communicating both technically and emotionally - by sharing your experience with the scents and - equally importantly - what each one MEANS to you. Thanks for the welcome pattern interrupt my brother. Bravo!
Nice thoughtful analysis of Eau Sauvage parfum. Wore Eau Sauvage edt today.. was my late grandfather’s scent. I didn’t know it was a fragrance when he was still around. As I was young, I just thought that was his natural smell. Happened upon Eau Sauvage when I got into fragrances years later and instantly slipped back in time. I hope to always have Eau Sauvage in his memory. (I haven’t smelled the parfum yet.
I honestly didn't think I would make it through this entire video, but it was really interesting to listen to and I much prefer the slower, more laid back explanations 10/10
Superb vid. About time i saw a proper insight into certain fragrances. Ive just bought both eau sauvages, the edt & parfum. Can't wait to smell the past. Thank you.🌹
I quite like this longer format. It feels more personable, and I don’t mind taking a few more minutes to listen to a knowledgeable person evaluate something that can be considerably costly to buy. On a side note, Bvlgari Man Wood Neroli is thus far my favorite citrus aromatic/woody floral musk to wear.
Really enjoyed this. Played it as a podcast while walking and love your reflections, especially on Eau Sauvage Parfum. I really hope I like it when I’m older
You are the only fragrance reviewer I trusted after you perfectly described Hugo Boss Night as "bleach scented" because thats exactly what it was. If you can describe a scent in one word, I can only imagine how well you will describe a fragrance in these long vids.
ANARCHY!!!!!!!! Break RUclips. Love it. I think we will always be here for you because you just bring quality content. Ok let me just calm down and give a good review. I just finished watching your video, it is a Sunday morning 08.42 in the morning and it is raining outside. Your video was like a Charles dickens story , very relaxing and serene. I loved this so much. Thank you for making this.
Rarely commenting, but again I really appreciate your in depth content, where you describe fragrances very thoroughly but also explain why you actually like them or why it's a good scent to try (or buy). Because in the end many people don't want to buy a new 100€ fragrance every month so we need some carefully good picked choices presented by you. Keep it up!
This is cool, George. I’m a podcast fiend and even I’ve been trained to watch the short format content when it comes to fragrances. There’s a few fragrance podcasts out there, but you solo is a good format.
I love the format. Even if it were just one or two reviews a video, it's great. The relaxed, honest & open threadings of thought... love it. SO glad I did buy Le Male Elixir, as well as 1 Million Royal (not in review, just stating). Eau Sauvage is on my To Get list, but was low. I guess I'll bring it up a few notches.
16:01 I have to disagree. Sauvage is the new generation’s ADG. How can you say Dior didn’t innovate with this fragrance? It took the boring citrus fragrance and took it to a new level. If you were to smell Sauvage without being jaded, it’s unbiasedly a nice fragrance. Dopest campaign. Iconic bottle. Recognizable scent. Mass appeal. Best selling. Wouldn’t anyone working on a fragrance want this?
Drakkar Noir and Fahrenheit were hugely successful in their heiday as well! I don't like Sauvage that much, but you gotta give it the credit it deserves.
A well considered selection of wonderful fragrances. Luna Rossa Carbon reignited my interest in fragrance - the pandemic then got me hooked. Oh and I much prefer Carbon over Sauvage. I also love iris so concur with Bleu Noir Parfum - I find it understated yet classy. This is a welcome format. You just dont describe a fragrance, you tell a story around each, and that is compelling.
Great vid! One thing to consider would be a "top 10 fragrances of 2023" of course, or any sort of "best of the year awards" type of thing. And ofc you can take it straight or do an inverse play on the concept.
I would be interested in seeing you doing a long format on one particular house or line. For example, right now I am playing around with Roja's Vetiver, Scandal, Elysium, and Apex, and it would be nice to hear how you think of the lineup (e.g., how they complement each other, what different personalities they embody)
Love the long form. You could break these up and make them more “algorithm friendly” if you wanted too. Enjoyed the longer discussion in a specific fragrance
If you can do this with niche, it would be so helpful, and break down categories, blue, vs green, vs sweet, or brown scents. I have all my perfumes separated by color. I'd love this I think others might as well, I'd just love to hear a deep dive on niche aquatics.
I bought the "Tom Ford; Noir Extreme Parfum". Too much weird for me. I Love the Kulfi note, but i also got cigarettes and manure. And it doesn't do well for me. I sold the Parfum and bought the "Noir Extreme EDP". More sweetness and Kulfi. Less cigarettes and manure. I Love it, and it's my signature scent for the colder half of the year for this winter of 2023/2024.
The reason "Top 10" videos are boring and generic is that there are no interest in educating or informing the viewer. All they want is the dead eyed views, nothing else. I love the concept and look forward to seeing it (hopefully) revitalize the fragrance community. We desperately need it.
Just an idea. Put a small image of the bottle, top left, so if you are dripping in and out of the video you know what you are talking about. Add chapters in the description too.
@@TheFragranceApprentice Came down here to say that. With other long form content that I consume (mainly music reactions and video essays) they always break their video down with chapters, that's just commentary on the meta for those videos is all! Seems to work well for them. That might make some people stay longer, because for example here they may see their favourite fragrance on this list and skip to hear what you say about that. Those people may have just clicked off entirely if they had not seen that, so it's better than nothing.
If YOU are watching this video, YOU are BREAKING the fragrance RUclips algorithm, this is already doing about 3 times better than expected in views. Thanks for taking a chance and being awesome.
Frig yeah let's break youtube.
You’re awesome.

This is what RUclips used to be like, about the love of fragrance rather than being solely a numbers game. I’m a fan 👍
This format SLAPS, would love to see more of this from you
Your description of Eau Sauvage was so eloquently put and might be one of my favorite takes from you.
I always loved to listen to those hour long analytical videos about movies or shows while doing everyday tasks.
Getting the chance to do that with one of my favourite topics ever is highly appreciated.
Thanks George!

Love your rehab scenario for Prada. My mind creates mini films like that too.
I think the fact that you enjoy making this video, regardless of how long it is, really comes through to the audience and makes us enjoy it as well.
I always appreciate these videos where you really take your time to express your feelings about the scents you love. Please keep making long videos like this. I love them so much, especially when you shoot them in nature and pair it with personal stories.
Breath of fresh air George. I’ll watch (or listen) to these as long as you’re putting them out. As always, keep up the good work 👍🏼
I love the long form format! The only suggestion I have is to keep the name and an image of the bottle in the corner while you’re talking about it.
i like that
Big fan of this format
Hope you come back soon George. This format is just the best. Your literary take on fragrance is so needed.
yes
he will come back

i love this area of long form. Frangrance Room tried and Joey Amin is taking his time. i say continue this. i for one will watch :)
More of these please. As soon as possible. I will watch every minute of each one.

Since I own so many of these, I was able to spray and smell along because it was so chill and relaxed. Cool experience.
Thanks for taking the time to paint us a word picture. love the format.
Wow what a beautiful video. You should make more longer videos like these, i loved it, your explaining is a piece of artwork. Thanks

Saw this in my sub box. Saw the length. My night is sorted
God bless you, George. Keep following your heart. I love the long format half podcast half video type thing. Truly. Cheers!
Please make more videos like this one. I miss the videos about one specific fragrance in depth.
It really was a nice change of pace for a fragrance video. It was almost like ASMR at times, which is not meant to come across as a dig at all. Excellent video, George, I really enjoyed it.
This was EXCELLENT!!! You should produce one of these for every season (fall, winter, spring, summer) if time permits. Well done indeed!!!😊😊😊😊
I like this earnest, genuine effort to explore your fragrance thoughts and enthusiasm. Can see this working as podcast format too.
I appreciate these long videos and although I wont be watching it all in one go, I come back to it when I get the time
Finally a top 10 video over 5 min that doesn’t stress you…
loved this, please do more videos like this. I could listen to you for hours

Love your Luna Rossa Carbon part. Went back and pulled it out, put some on, my gosh you’re right. And it smells so good.
Thank you George. Loved watching the video. Keep sharing many more of these. Deeply enriching. Cheers!
All respect for making this video with this format. I much rather long format. Should give Robes08 credit and respect for being the guru he is.
Superb vid.
About time i saw a proper insight into certain fragrances.
Ive just bought both eau sauvages, the edt & parfum.
Can't wait to smell the past.
Thank you.🌹
Thoroughly enjoyed that and certainly seems like you enjoyed making it so definitely on board with the longer format
such a great video. you are master, George. so eloquent, poetic and smart
I've only worn Le Male Elixir three times, yet it's my 3rd most complimented fragrance behind Ombre Leather EDP and Side Effect.
Just finishing up the TV show Severance as recommended in a previous video.
SOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOD!
I love the long format video. Thank goodness. God bless you George! 🙂

I totally agree with your thoughts on Le Male Elixir. It's easily the best release of the year, and it isn't even close. Bravo sir 👏
Really enjoyed this. Played it as a podcast while walking and love your reflections, especially on Eau Sauvage Parfum. I really hope I like it when I’m older

Even though I often don't like your suggestions I love the quality of the content and very much enjoy the depth of your videos
Appreciate the podcast-long format, as I do some chores.
Will come back for it 👍
Love your presence on RUclips, George ❤
Sincerely,
Justin
This is cool, George. I’m a podcast fiend and even I’ve been trained to watch the short format content when it comes to fragrances. There’s a few fragrance podcasts out there, but you solo is a good format.
I love the format. Even if it were just one or two reviews a video, it's great. The relaxed, honest & open threadings of thought... love it. SO glad I did buy Le Male Elixir, as well as 1 Million Royal (not in review, just stating). Eau Sauvage is on my To Get list, but was low. I guess I'll bring it up a few notches.
I really enjoyed the long format!
Really enjoyed this format George, would be great to see more lists with these perspectives!
Appreciate you going against the trend. I enjoy the in-depth perspective and takes you give on fragrances.

If you were to smell Sauvage without being jaded, it’s unbiasedly a nice fragrance. Dopest campaign. Iconic bottle. Recognizable scent. Mass appeal. Best selling. Wouldn’t anyone working on a fragrance want this?
Amazing story telling about Prada Carbon right after 🔥 shit was a movie
Also, why was the narciso review so short! I’ve been dying to hear a longer take on it.
Why would you want to smell like every other bloke out there. Get something unique smelling that makes you unique....
Drakkar Noir and Fahrenheit were hugely successful in their heiday as well! I don't like Sauvage that much, but you gotta give it the credit it deserves.
@@pauln0371Don’t wear a shirt and pants, everyone wears that. Wear a fedora to stand out
A well considered selection of wonderful fragrances.

One thing to consider would be a "top 10 fragrances of 2023" of course, or any sort of "best of the year awards" type of thing. And ofc you can take it straight or do an inverse play on the concept.
This was great. Love this format.
Really enjoyed this! do more. Cheers.
The just feels more genuine and is greatly appreciated

I like your philosophy and imagination with the world of fragrance.
Thank you George, always bringing the creativity and quality 💙
