Technically Hornet didn’t just murder the vessels, she dueled them and let them pass if they were strong enough as her purpose was to protect the ruins of Hallownest. (Eg in the Quirrel comic Hornet tries to kill Quirrel before realizing that something ‘called him’ to the kingdom)
She wanted to prevent the vessels from just freeing the Hollow Knight without replacing him. That's because she knew that a lot of them were "defective" with emotions and were probably pretty angry being left alone to die in the Abyss So Hornet's job was, first and foremost, to finish what the King's brand couldn't do: to make sure the rejected vessels would be properly disposed and wouldn't end up releasing the Radiance The second job was to look for a pure vessel, something the Hollow Knight proved not to be, to replace him since he cracked. But she could test this by trying to kill the vessel just like the first point. So killing the vessels was win-win
We love you. F for all the fallen bugs. Like most of the Knights and many of the bugs in the kingdom. May the hiveknight finally find peace and May quirrel as well. We love your videos. Stay strong!
Salubra in 34th place? Have you forgotten how charms are made? Salubra is a charm collector and finds charms purely europhic. She never leaves her hut yet has a collection of charms, how? Not so simple, we dont know how far into the future he could see or how clear it was, besides his plan does end up working.. Just a wee bit late for his kingdom
Presumably it's something he could look into if he wanted, not something he would get constantly notified about. I guess he just didn't look after coming up with his plan and seeing that, as things currently were, it would work.
Also, there's an NPC who says (in dream nail dialogue,) "Pale Wyrm... what good to see a demise unavoidable?" Which means how could PK have circumvented the radiance?
🤓 time: Monomon is extremely underrated. Intelligent, wise, and even willing to sacrifice herself. She is the first to question the seals need, whereas Lurien is stuck in blind loyalty to the king (which could've spelled the end for hollownest as infection was spilling out). Hornet has the same moral code as PK; sacrifice vessels unless a true "Hollow Knight" emerges. Yet the Pale King has regrets for his actions (long personal theory, void *is* regret and void kills PK, so PK had s much guilt and regrets it literally killed him) yet Hornet shows no remorse for killing her half siblings, only for her mother. The question for PK really comes down to this: if the plan succeeded, would you regard him as a hero? Lastly the Knight is arguably responsible for the godhome ending, putting him lower imo Remember these are just my opinions, not any criticism.
Exactly, PK really wasn't that bad. He was arrogant, and ignorant, but he tried. He tried to save his dying kingdom. In fact, there's a chance that he never even knew about the radiance until he tried to get rid of it. Also, Markoth is objectively the worst. Freaking Radiant Nightmare.
I feel it’s unfair to blame the wrongs of her tribe as a collective all on the Seer. For all we know she wasn’t even around when the Radiance was forsaken or was too young to know better
Markoth should've been number 1 because he ate the floor and took it away from us, how dare you, Markoth. Also, Nailsmith and Sheo are a little more than friends. The achievement for seeing them together is called "Happy Couple."
I think Herrah should be substantially lower, in the same "good outweighs the bad" category as the Seer. 1: While the other Dreamers did what they did for the love of the kingdom, Herrah didn't. The Pale King had to bargain for her to. From her dreamer dialogue, we can tell she doesn't really care whether the seals are broken, which implies she doesn't really care what happens to Hallownest, as long as Hornet is safe. 2: The deal itself was evil. PK's end of the deal was for him to cheat on the White Lady with her and produce a child. And before you say "Oh It WaS tHe PaLe KiNg'S iDeA", no it wasn't, and if it was that wouldn't excuse her, because she agreed. Yes, I know the White Lady said she didn't mind, but that's hardly relevant. It was wrong regardless.

The infection removes anthromorphic traits. Before the Pale King appeared, the bugs lacked said anthropomorphic traits. In other words, the infection essentially reverts Hallownest to how it was before the Pale King. If anything, the Seer was bad because she remembered the Radiance.

Okay so first of all... wow just wow The fact you spent so much time on this single project is already impressive enough, but the pure quality this video achieves is an entire other feat unto itself, the effort you've put into this really shows. Now, if I had just 1 thing to say... I disagree with number 1, The Knight. Now while I can't say I have any quarrel with anyone who also thinks that the Knight deserves the top place, my main issue with the placement is more of an observation I have on the Vessels in general. Personally, I find vessels to purely neutral, and that when the game describes them all as hollow, I interpret it as in they were created with nothing but purpose. To help put things into perspective, while people like you or me have the ability to grant initiative or passion into something we do, something like a line of code would only do something as purely and efficiently as possible. And I find lines of code to be a good metaphor for what a Vessel exactly is; something, not a creature, but a *thing* with the express purpose of accomplishing something. Even though a Vessel once was a creature, if only for a moment within their eggs, once the Void bleached anything real and organic from them they deformed into things that could not physically feel emotion. You might be asking (and rightfully so) "What about the HollowKnight, while it was young and being trained by the Pale King? Did it not feal affection and possibly love for its authoritve figure, i.e. father?" And my rebuttal to that is the fact, once again, that the game describes Vessel's as hollow. *Hollow*. Reflect on the word for a moment. Something that is Hollow can be filled, such as a glass, to be filled with water. A car, to be filled with gas. Or perhaps the HollowKnight, to be filled with the love and care and affection that the Pale King clumsily and accidently placed within his kin, being an ignorant and fatal mistake to not only himself, but his kingdom. But then again, even with my rebuttal, admittedly comes another issue. You could also say "Then how do we know the Knight wasn't influenced by the people and places around it, eventually to the point where ending the radiance was less so an objective, but more so a necessity to save the few it truly cares for in its dieing world?" and, well, if I'm being honest I really don't have much of a rebuttal. After all, another point could be made that if the Knight were similar to a line of code, why didn't it immediately try to defeat the Radiance? Why would it seemingly leave, only to return when needed most? I just find the wording of "hollow" to be so vague, and I've seen other discussions on the words use in HollowKnight to lead to some very long and tiring discussions. It would be nice if it were maybe a bit better defined, but I still personally like the idea of it meaning something along the lines of "Yeah, its empty, but it could possibly be filled." All in all, I just wanted to share my perspective on what I interpret a Vessel to be. I'm sorry its such a huge paragraph left on an otherwise very goofy video, especially if you dont like reading 💀 Oh and btw Hornet is Void (Joke){or is it?}[stfu this joke is becoming unfunny now]

Well, about 3:01, I think i disagree, they werent that bad, because they only let fight the infected and the fighters that volunteered. Theoretically, that should be efficient because it would provide entertainment, kill infected entities in a large scale, and prevent anyone foolish enough to fight from become a functioning member of society, basically. But it also had a bad side which is obvious but was probably not elaborated further when building the arena. So id say neutral evil.

The Knight sacrifices his own life contless times facing all of The hollow Knights endings, getting sealed in the black egg temple twice and once with Hornet A.K.A the Knights sister to share their final moments together. Finally, there is the True Ending where the Knight slays the Traitor Lord and traverses throght The White Palace created by The Evil Pale King to create the Kingsoul, then proceeds to go down to the abyss to meet his siblings and obtain Voidheart killing warrior dreams just to collect the Awoken Dream Nail to stop more beings from dying in the future. Then the Knight proceeds to damage the Hollow Knight, then Hornet steps in and pins THK to the ground for the Knight to use his dream nail to challenge The Radiance defeating it and sacrificing himself in the process where his skull is cracked on the floor with his void spilling out. Then Hornet wakes up and sees the Knight dead on the ground knowing what he had done was the right thing to do fulfilling the Knights destiny once and for all. THE END Goodbye.
If sheer was put in the more neutral place because her tribe forgot about the radiance causing the infection, pale king should be below the radiance. He barged into HER territory, took HER followers and had them forget the radiance, and since pale king can supposedly see into the future, he technically caused even MORE deaths than just the vessels because he could've easily foreseen the infection and yet try to contain it ONLY when it has publicly came up, not try to prepare for that as soon as he formed his kingdom. The result? Millions of vessels dead for nothing, countless infected bugs + technically all of the Soul Master's victims on his quest to cure the infection on his own. That or the future vision is a massive plot hole.
@@rekhavmenon1507 Lord of Shades is under the control of The Knight, who really doesn't have much malicious intentions. And it's not really too chaotic anymore, it's unified, it's most likely it will just go and rest in the abyss, which is what void has been shown to do. Do you have any reasons why LoS might try to destroy hallownest???
@@MossMothMyBeloved Great observation, how did you understand that I did not play the game? Why of course I did, and maybe the theory I read was different but the voidheart only gave the LoS access to the Knight's body. Why is there a seperate shrine for LoS and the Knight in Godhome? They aren't interconnected. Or maybe we're both wrong because there has been no definite theory yet
Colloseum of Fools: is bad despite most fighters participating of own free will Tiso: is good because he died willingly participating in Colloseum of Fools
I always find it weird how everyone sees Zote as “stealing Bretta from us” when the Knight canonically isn’t interested in her and could never return her affections. When I saw her fawning over him I was concerned for her because he’s a narcissistic stinkhead and clearly doesn’t care about her beyond having someone to brag to.
well, the moth tribe forgot aboout the radiance because the pale king came to hallownest and wanted to be worshipped so bad that he started "stealing"(?) followers, and the moth tribe were kind of forced by their own nature to go to the light that shone brighter(the pale king's). what kept the radiance alive was that the moth tribe DIDN'T completely forget about her, and the poor thing just wants to reclaim her rightful place as the moth tribe's god. by taking control of hallownest's bugs, she wanted to show the pale king how it feels to have "all" of your followers taken away from you
Regarding morality, this game contradicts its community in every way *grimm* : It is described as a plague that spreads pain and suffering. a manipulative bastard who enslaves, sacrifices, and exploits children to use his children as personal reincarnations [they will try to say: "he is a slave to the scarlet heart when the description of nightmare kin contradicts that] *radiance* :She is a narcissistic goddess who considers herself the incarnation of nature in a world of gods, that tortures thousands of innocent people to death and exterminates her daughters just because they abandoned her (she was not forgotten because they left a memory of her). . *soul master* : He is a radiance puppet who steals the souls of thousands of innocents, condemns his students to a miserable existence, and tortures a shaman to achieve immortality. *hornet* : she murders our weakest brothers for not having will, and tells you right to your face that he feels no regret for it. *ghost Knight* : the undertaker considers us as a serial killer, we literally hunt even children *the hunter* : does exactly the same *white lady* :She only feels a little shame about how he participated in the plan, not about the death of his childrens. In fact, he considers them spawns and hk as a failures. she even tells us that our sacrifice for the kindom is an imposition. *shade lord* : she is not a neutral entity she is practically the embodiment of chaos but *pale king* he is the greatest saint in the game: they call him a usurper when the moth abandoned their goddesses of their own will, they call him a colonialist when the other tribes accepted him and recognized him, he even never tried to occupy their lands,They call him a tyrant when the corpse on howling cliffs is a worshiper (because he has an idol) and xero was infected, they call him a megalomaniac when he hides from his worshipers whom they consider superior beings, they call him a liar when his kingdom was the only intelligent civilization after the extinction of his species, they call him a coward when wl says the opposite, they call him stupid when Radiance is described as a formless spirit that only he dies if he is forgotten, he calls him a murderer of children when he did not murder them and could not do anything for them(They were condemned to burn if they were not locked up.), feeling regret for this action, they call him a cheater, when he was technically raped by an opportunistic widow, they call him an abusive father when he sowed love to pv, He raised and trained Hornet and created Collector to save the grub in the future, and they believe that he abandoned his kingdom when in reality he saved it from being consumed by Shader Lord by absorbing and sacrificing his life so that you can control the darkness. They even call it Circular Saw enthusiastic when Ogrim portrays the palace as a habitable place, then it was transformed into a death trap as a test to determine the will of the protagonist, and Pop was created to preserve the memories with his son before his death.
Most of the characters in my evil list were not infected, only 2 are, traitor who took it willingly and soul master who already had the plan to doing that stuff.
@@thebattlebee It's true, though isn't there a bug in queen's station that thinks about eating the knight? I think they would be pretty high on the evil ranking lmao.
If you take one thing away from the video, let it be that if you lack sentience entirely, and therefore have no concept of morals, you win first place for best morals.
The way I see it is that the knight did what it did because it was instinctually compelled to do, it just did what ever was necessary to achieve its goal it is hollow after all.
I feel like nosk shouldn't be on the list cause he feels more like an animal to me, one who lures you in with a wicked method, but it doesn't know any better.
Grimm is not bad if you say its because the masks, Grimm is only a servant of the nightmare heart. And the nightmare heart is an higher being so the heart is bad not Grimm.

But it also had a bad side which is obvious but was probably not elaborated further when building the arena. So id say neutral evil.
hunter is evil, it is aware, and it seeks and hunts for fun kind of like a cat. nosk isnt evil its just a hungry probably mindless predator (probably idk if nosk has a mind)
Hunter is evil. He knows it unlike other infected bugs. This man is a sigma male
You spent the same amount of time on this video as I spent getting 112%… good uses of 60 hours 👍
Really liked the video
Though putting the knight in first place seems a bit cheesy
Could you tell me what game the music at 18:50 originates from? I’ve got to play it.
EDIT: I really appreciate you listing the songs used at the end of the video. I knew this song sounded super familiar but I couldn’t connect it to anything that I’ve played. Turns out it was from Chicory which was made by the devs of one of my favorite games, Wandersong.
I disagree. Markoth should be number 1 on the evil side.
What about the accordion guy in the Grimm Troupe? I don't remember him being in the list
The pearl king have a regrets if you dream know him, he says no cost to great
If you want Bretta to love you, leave zote until you get the Mantis claw.
The Knight isnt really an NPC though, as hes literally a playable character
2:30 LITTLE NIGHTMARES 2 SOUNDTRACK SPOTTED!
Where is my boy brumm
mfw the battle bee uploads a well edited half hour long video
Im literally writing and listing, elder bug? More like elder god of kidness
The most evil being is markoth
NOT THE BEES!
Quick question: Why is releasing Lord of Shades into hallownest dangerous?
I wonder why
Surely releasing a chaotic God that will engulf the universe isn't bad, right?
I wonder why
@@rekhavmenon1507 Lord of Shades is under the control of The Knight, who really doesn't have much malicious intentions. And it's not really too chaotic anymore, it's unified, it's most likely it will just go and rest in the abyss, which is what void has been shown to do. Do you have any reasons why LoS might try to destroy hallownest???
@@MossMothMyBeloved That's where you're wrong. The Knight is under the control of the Lord of Shades
@@rekhavmenon1507 Quick question. Did you play the game? The lord of shades is the knight after acquiring void heart.
Or maybe we're both wrong because there has been no definite theory yet
your voice makes my vocal cords disappear
2:50 girl literally was just high asf lmao
I can say just, ' Vow' Great Job Battle Bee.
5:24 I think you got the wrong end of the stick...
Lemme explain: *T H E W Y R M K I L L E D T H E C H I L D R E N*
Colloseum of Fools: is bad despite most fighters participating of own free will
Tiso: is good because he died willingly participating in Colloseum of Fools
I personally hate tiso
What music was used for the hollow knight and cornifer?
Chad 30 minute video
16:36 yeah, they´re roommates
hornet only fights and kills vesels because if she lets a weak one through than it might fail saving hollowknest
No no eyeses children ripped out the eyes
I always find it weird how everyone sees Zote as “stealing Bretta from us” when the Knight canonically isn’t interested in her and could never return her affections. When I saw her fawning over him I was concerned for her because he’s a narcissistic stinkhead and clearly doesn’t care about her beyond having someone to brag to.
well, the moth tribe forgot aboout the radiance because the pale king came to hallownest and wanted to be worshipped so bad that he started "stealing"(?) followers, and the moth tribe were kind of forced by their own nature to go to the light that shone brighter(the pale king's). what kept the radiance alive was that the moth tribe DIDN'T completely forget about her, and the poor thing just wants to reclaim her rightful place as the moth tribe's god. by taking control of hallownest's bugs, she wanted to show the pale king how it feels to have "all" of your followers taken away from you
Where do you think MenderBug should be?

Regarding morality, this game contradicts its community in every way
*grimm* : It is described as a plague that spreads pain and suffering. a manipulative bastard who enslaves, sacrifices, and exploits children to use his children as personal reincarnations [they will try to say: "he is a slave to the scarlet heart when the description of nightmare kin contradicts that]
*radiance* :She is a narcissistic goddess who considers herself the incarnation of nature in a world of gods, that tortures thousands of innocent people to death and exterminates her daughters just because they abandoned her (she was not forgotten because they left a memory of her). .
*soul master* : He is a radiance puppet who steals the souls of thousands of innocents, condemns his students to a miserable existence, and tortures a shaman to achieve immortality.
*hornet* : she murders our weakest brothers for not having will, and tells you right to your face that he feels no regret for it.
*ghost Knight* : the undertaker considers us as a serial killer, we literally hunt even children
*the hunter* : does exactly the same
*white lady* :She only feels a little shame about how he participated in the plan, not about the death of his childrens. In fact, he considers them spawns and hk as a failures. she even tells us that our sacrifice for the kindom is an imposition.
*shade lord* : she is not a neutral entity she is practically the embodiment of chaos
but *pale king* he is the greatest saint in the game: they call him a usurper when the moth abandoned their goddesses of their own will, they call him a colonialist when the other tribes accepted him and recognized him, he even never tried to occupy their lands,They call him a tyrant when the corpse on howling cliffs is a worshiper (because he has an idol) and xero was infected, they call him a megalomaniac when he hides from his worshipers whom they consider superior beings, they call him a liar when his kingdom was the only intelligent civilization after the extinction of his species, they call him a coward when wl says the opposite, they call him stupid when Radiance is described as a formless spirit that only he dies if he is forgotten, he calls him a murderer of children when he did not murder them and could not do anything for them(They were condemned to burn if they were not locked up.), feeling regret for this action, they call him a cheater, when he was technically raped by an opportunistic widow, they call him an abusive father when he sowed love to pv, He raised and trained Hornet and created Collector to save the grub in the future, and they believe that he abandoned his kingdom when in reality he saved it from being consumed by Shader Lord by absorbing and sacrificing his life so that you can control the darkness.
They even call it Circular Saw enthusiastic when Ogrim portrays the palace as a habitable place, then it was transformed into a death trap as a test to determine the will of the protagonist, and Pop was created to preserve the memories with his son before his death.
You could argue that 95% of bugs in Hallownest are good because it's just the infection that makes them evil.
Most of the characters in my evil list were not infected, only 2 are, traitor who took it willingly and soul master who already had the plan to doing that stuff.
More like 70%
@@thebattlebee It's true, though isn't there a bug in queen's station that thinks about eating the knight? I think they would be pretty high on the evil ranking lmao.
@@justdisdude4292 yeah plus it eats mushrooms so kinda mean to M.Mushroom
Meh, I wouldn't call nobles from eastern part of the CoT, scholars from Soul Sanctum or traitor mantises "good".
the vessels climbed and fell
If you take one thing away from the video, let it be that if you lack sentience entirely, and therefore have no concept of morals, you win first place for best morals.
But emelitia said that she's laughting because of the flower around
Nosk isn't evil, its an animal that needs to eat, they hang them on the celling to save em for later.
6:41 HEY! Nosk is not evil,he just tries to survive, like us!
The way I see it is that the knight did what it did because it was instinctually compelled to do, it just did what ever was necessary to achieve its goal it is hollow after all.
i mean they never confirm that the knight is truly hollow
I agree racking is hard to do
And emilitia is happy and not affected is cuz of the red flowers 3:17
And they makeing her laugh
that's a stretch
No word about menderbug
Anyways, good vid )
I feel like the knight should be neutral because they are literally an ancient void with no thoughts or feelings.
I feel like nosk shouldn't be on the list cause he feels more like an animal to me, one who lures you in with a wicked method, but it doesn't know any better.
What about Brumm
Wait what about brumm? He wanted to destroy the grimm troupe that was bad and betrayed his boss for the safety of bugs
Lurien immediately volunteers to become a dreamer. Herrah basically says "Ok but lemme smash"
Therefore, Herrah > Lurien
Me, who killed the Nail Smith, Myla and let Zote die: True, I'm very good
Grimm is not bad if you say its because the masks, Grimm is only a servant of the nightmare heart. And the nightmare heart is an higher being so the heart is bad not Grimm.
ayo song from bastion
that's cool
16:41 "is friends" they are dating fight me.
10:28 Bro used music from the 2nd best game in a vid of the best game
