Being an avid concert goer for many years, I am truly grateful that I got to see some of the greatest bands of all time live before the advent of cellular phones!
I love how the crowd is even into The Waterboys before the show. Its every show clip I have seen, not just this one
Thank you God for letting me grow up and be influenced by the 80's and 90's rock and roll artists.
Thank you, Irish ppl, for giving us this amazing band.
🤘🙏
I’m a black man in the USA of the same era. I also thank our Irish bros for sending U2 forward. Soul of the heart coming from the Joshua tree 🌳
Do Ya thang!!!
I have seen them 26 times. Always a amazing show
Ti invidio..... Purtroppo negli ultimi 10 anni in Italia hanno prezzi assurdi...... Quindi mi sono fermato al 2008.....
The beginning of this film footage captured the incredible anticipation of the crowd before the band sets foot on stage. 🍻
U2 is a global treasure.
Larry has got to be the most underrated drummer in the history of Rock...I LOVE THAT GUY!!!
@SuperNoone89 😃 👍 👊
There are two bands that don’t need a lead singer. U2 & Depeche Mode. The fans are so dedicated they sing along to ALL the damn songs. I love it
I travelled from Melbourne Australia to watch this show, It was worth every moment and every dime to sit up on the very back row of Croke park and watch the lads do there thing! An amazing night that I will never forget!
Saw the band twice in Los Angeles/San Diego ‘85 ‘87 The Unforgettable Fire & Joshua Tree tours. I’ll never forget those nights so long ago. ☘️
Edge is under rated. I never realized how good he was until I saw the concert.
No recording quite captures the orchestra that is the sound of his guitar. When you are there, it is just unbelievable how full he makes it sound, you'd think there were at leeeeast one other guitarist.
The guy is a master of delay effects.
TheDilligan In fact they have another guy under the stage that sometimes plays guitars or keyboards
I've always said " The Edge " is a one man sound machine, and the real sound of U2, and I've seen them live many times, and this is a Brilliant Concert, and captures him at his best....
TheDilligan you are so right. No way to understand the power of his piercing, clean perfect riffs life unless you’ve experienced it.
Totally agree. I don't play guitar so I can't offer up any specifics. But I saw the Elevation tour many times back in '01 and it felt like Edge dominated (not the right word) many of the songs. It was the first time I left U2 shows feeling this way. He was/is incredible.
To see how much of a perfectionist the Edge is, search for a video on here called Rig Rundown. They go behind the scenes with his guitar tech. I don't play but it's very interesting to see the work that goes on behind the scenes.
*Rig Rundown has many episodes featuring different artists, just look until you find his episode.
It was my first U2 show in Long Island, NY 1987 - 30 years later had to see this one in their home town - AMAZING :)
Hardly their own town !
Only 2 of them are even from Ireland !
Adam Clayton and the edge are English
@@TheFriscoblade They are Irish. They were only born in England.
Old men still rocking, still the best live band in the world
I was at the sunday 1987 croke park gig and it was the same set. It was my first gig. Tickets were 12.50 punt. The pretenders were support. Those were the days you couid go to the dockers pub anytime and see U2 drinking there.
Adam Clayton is so chill. That has to be a surreal experience to have tens of thousands rocking to your jam.
I remember seeing them on THE Joshua Tree Tour in 87. My first time seeing them, not my last. One of the best concerts I've ever seen. One of the best albums ever made. Greatest band with incredible talent and values. They have done so much good for the world. Love these guys!
Dublin is obviously the place to watch this band. Such awesome energy. Doesn't compare to any other venue...imo.
As the years go by The Edge reveals himself more as the core of these guys greatness.
The characteristic, recognizable sound of U2 is very heavily from his guitar.
This apple tree has 4 vital roots.
adam is average.
That backdrop on the stage looks unreal 👏
Brill recording, good to see the band just come out and play with no gimmicks, just starting off with Larry belting into the old songs, brilliant
U2 MY BEST BAND OF THE PLANET 😍❣😎❣🔊🔊🔊
Travelled from Perth, Australia to see this show with my dad who had seen them here in 1987, we were standing just to the right of Larry Mullen Jnr, excellent footage! Thanks Dario!
Cadhla
Yeah baby!!!
Last time I saw them was the 360 tour at Subiaco oval 😎
That just made me feel old. Last time I saw them was in 1987
A great memory to have of your dad.
I was there and it was truly amazing. Never had seen U2 live, so Dublin was the perfect setting
What ever job you do if you have fellow workmates who's attention to detail and professionalism is everything you want and millions of others do then that is something very special.
I was there_high up in the Cusack. What a show. The set and sound were outstanding, Fantastic atmosphere. Best band of the last 40 years
Un tuffo nel passato quando da giovanissimi ascoltavamo gli U2 fino allo sfinimento. Un saluto a tutti.
went from austria to dublin for seeing u2 @ home ... organized from my wive as birthday present ... best present i´ll ever became!!!!! i loved it
Que Orgasmo de concierto!❤De Dublin al Cielo!☘️🇮🇪☘️🇮🇪Mama mía!❤
Que Grandes Son!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
That is the best angle and view of a live performance. Being so close to the band and that fantastic crowd view, excellent!!
Great job sir. I haven't seen U2 live since Leixlip in 1980. Your video made me feel like I was at Croker last night.
Paul Gallagher area you in your late 50s by now?
Barry Obama how did you guess? :)
Amazing to see how technology has advanced in terms of concert production values and the ubiquitous hand held high definition recording. It's a long way from the guy on O'Connell Bridge selling scratchy bootleg tapes for a fiver. Having said that the interference caused by the original source and delayed sound of Larry's drumming for the first few songs (before he moves to the back kit) is a tad jarring. 1st world gripe....:-)
Apparently there was 500000 at that gig. I call bs that u we’re at that gig
Love U2 crowds so fun
It must be incredibly hard to be and stay the biggest band in the world! But they have done it!! Well done boys, well done!!👏👏👏👏 you must be so proud!! I think you're incredible! X
The biggest band in the world lol
Oasis

Brillant great video,thank's for sharing
Yes! Magical concert!... Great video...
Brilliant. Thanks for sharing.
The three people who don't like this couldn't get a ticket! Brilliantly filmed btw.
It's jumping all over the place, lol; how is it brilliantly filmed unless you wanted it to look like a Bourne movie?
There are 114 haters at this time ... who knows why ...
Looks like you are befuddled, confusing a post with "lol" in it with one that's whining; why are you complaining about somebody pointing out why someone might not vote this a thumbsup? u2 will be releasing a Blu-ray of this with 1080p24 video and lossless 5.1 surround sound, so why would I want to watch more than a few seconds of this which isnt' enjoyable to watch with crappy RUclips bitrates and detrimental RUclips lossy .mp3-quality 192 Kbps audio when I could wait for the professionally mixed and mastered Blu-ray from muticams on dollies and multitracked 24/96 audio?
I could get someone to punch me in the face for free too, does that mean I should?
Criticism - the expression of disapproval of someone or something based on perceived faults or mistakes
Whine - a long, high-pitched complaining cry
Please learn to better use the glorious English language.
Or maybe they just remember when U2 were still good!
@@dobyblue73 It just captures that concert essence for me! Plus it's my hometown, kinda sentimental.
Thank you for this.....so lovely....
Thank you, Dario!!!! What a great souvenir to have of this amazing show! I love that you started from the Waterboys intro song, which is such a great part of the show fo rme as a super-fan of both bands. Thank you!
