Sir I have question and this is doubt question why we perform MSA on part rather than performing on slip gauges . if our sole purpose is to check the accuracy of the measuring instruments then slip gauges are the best option . Also it is stated that we perform MSA for the measuring instrument not for the part.

While slip gauges are ideal for calibration due to their known and precise dimensions, they don’t account for the part-specific characteristics like surface roughness, shape, or features that might influence measurement accuracy. MSA on parts helps to evaluate how the measurement system performs when measuring the actual features and tolerances encountered in production, ensuring it reliably measures parts as they are manufactured, not just under ideal conditions.
