  • Over the past year and a half, I have had a lot of issues with the dealer I bought my Master Spas H2X Challenger 15D swim spa from, Leisure Works in Ann Arbor, MI. After filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, I was able to get my issues escalated with Master Spas, and they sent a team of technicians to my house to resolve all the issues I have with my swim spa. I wanted to be fair and post an updated review of the company because I had criticized them in the past, and they really came through and resolved my issues today.

    Hi Jim… just had a Master Spa Challenger 15D installed. The Swim Controller didn’t work from the start yesterday. The dealer, South East Spa’s team in West Palm Beach Florida said they will replace it next week. I subscribed to your channel and we can compare notes with our swim Spa’s!

    Hi jim, thanks so much for your videos. I was wondering if you could provide an update on the spot itself, are you still using it, is it still working effectively, and like a year out what are your complaints if any and/or benefits to having the swim spa at home?. I would greatly appreciate it thanks so much take care.

    I have a Calspa dual spa. Don’t recommend. We use the large spa area and have shut down the small one. We’ve gone through 2 covers and now just use the styrofoam covered with a tarp and bricks. Our controller still works but we can’t read anything on the display. We constantly had fuse problems but were told it was common and we could replace them ourselves. It’s a pain to find out which ones were out. Then wood panels started coming off. Every problem we had we were to was due to where we lived. There isn’t anything mentioned anywhere about that. We probably would have had better success if we had put it in the ground. Thanks for your info.

    Just wondering how things are going a year later. I was contemplating your model or an endless pool 700. So much to consider. Also wondering if your electric bill settled down. Strange how some people with swim spas have made comments of only seeing a $20-$100 jump in their electric bill after their purchase. I thought master spas and swim spas were supposed to be so efficient with their insulation.

    Jim we just bought one, how good are the jets on the hot tub area? Ours aren’t very powerful.

    • @ImJimDoingThings
      @ImJimDoingThings  Год назад

      Mine are really powerful as long as I divert all the pressure away from the swimming jets. If I have the valves to the swim jets open for swimming and try to use the jetted seats, there isn't a lot of pressure. I am a little too tall for the seats, so I don't use them very often, but I like the wall of jets on the side, so I will divert the swim jets, and close off the jets in the seats, then I get a lot of pressure.

    Hi, please can you give me the measurements of the metal shelf poles on how far they extend out from the spa in inches. thank you

    • @ImJimDoingThings
      @ImJimDoingThings  Год назад +1

      Hi Alex. The distance between the poles and the spa where the cover fits behind is about 2 inches. The poles are about 32 inches long, so the combined distance would be 34 inches from the spa. I hope that answers your question. Let me know if there is anything else you want to know.
      Jim

      this brand of spa cover shelf is by far the best available . i have a pair on both sides of my Therapool D, which is 94 inches wide. The key is to make sure that the 8 screws per each holder bracket go into the framing members behind the sectional panels.

    Just curious of about the cost to run, I was looking at them online and live in Michigan myself.

      It's really hard to say. I was told by the salesman that it would cost about the same as the hot tub I had at the time, but since the cover wasn't installed properly by the dealer, my costs skyrocketed in the winter. I went from paying an average of $350 a month for utilities to paying over $700 a month. Since Master Spas came out and fixed it, I think it is better, but I haven't been through a winter yet.

    So how long was it before you received your spa ?

    • @ImJimDoingThings

      I ordered it at the height of the pandemic, and the dealer had one left in the pipeline that had been placed on order before the shutdown, so it only took a couple of months. If I hadn't bought that one, they said it would take over a year to get one.

      @@ImJimDoingThings I ordered mine March of 2022 still trying to get some idea as to when the item will be delivered. They have no idea no some kind of time frame nothing. I ask 2 mths, 2 weeks what? I am the one doing the work I call, I email, I this is not how business are to work . They call give an idea or at least remember you have made an order for the item. Horrible. well thank you.

      @@rebeccagleason2678, I feel for you. I think Master Spa's product is pretty good, but its biggest weakness is its dealer network. If you find a good dealer that focuses on customer service, it is probably a very pleasant experience. The dealer in Ann Arbor, MI is horrible, and I spent a year and a half fighting with them to get my swim spa fixed. They were extremely disreputable. Fortunately, Master Spa's stepped up and resolved my issues directly. When I was in the Master Spa's Owner group on Facebook, there were a lot of people complaining about similar things with dealers in different parts of the country. Then there were people who talked about how well their dealers took care of them and that they went above and beyond, so my advice to anyone looking at a swim spa is to really check out the local dealer. For a product this expensive, the dealer should be giving incredible service. Good luck, I hope everything works out for you.
