- I'm already relaxing for the night when Kodi decides he wants our evening training session. Guess he really does love it! There's time with mom, yummy treats and play!

He knows he is guaranteed a reward, regardless of what that is he just wants the result
Awwwaa, KODI! 💚💚💚
I love enthusiasm for learning! What a smart dog!
He's Precious and smart🤣🤩, LOL, thank🤙 you ❗❕❗❕
I love these voice buttons. They are not only useful for cats and dogs to communicate with us but they can also be used for disabled children ❤️
They have augmented communication devices for people living with disability for at least 30yrs.
Fantastic!🐾⚘
I love him!
Here I expected to see a locomotive.
What a sweet soul Kodi is. I'm new and I was wondering what Kodi's age is, and if he took to the buttons right away. I have an 8 month old rescued German Sheppard that I've been working with for just a little while now, and he seems to not be interested at all. So I was wondering about your guy and his start at the buttons. Thank you!
Jauna Beeks: How is it going now? Not all animals take to the buttons. Some don't care, show no interest or even loathe them. And that's okay. Our animals communicate to us in many ways. It doesn't have to be the way we want them to.
Is "Training" a request for treats?
Training involves a lot of play and treats. What's not to love?
@@kodigoldenboy He seems like a good boy!
No matter what you are training a dog/cat/marmot to do, it is important to keep considering what the animal wants.
A lot of dogs have been bred for 'trainability' which has a strong component of active people-pleasing behavior...cats, on the other hand, have not been 'domesticated' as long, and are also selected for more passive behaviors...
All I am saying is that training with buttons it is easy to make the invalid assumption that the animal is learning exactly what you want them to learn; my observations of several animals undergoing 'verbal training' are definitely learning, and associating, but sometimes, the animals sort of put their own meanings on things...if your dog is already very food oriented, it's important to moderate the use of food rewards; likewise with contact/petting/attention words: there are several kinds of attention that animals request, it is valuable to distinguish between them, and then, later, when they have learned the basic words, they can hopefully learn that the reward for learning new words is the benefit of
communicating about something that affects them, and (hopefully) you won't be needing treats to teach them new words...which could end up just teaching them more ways to ask for treats!
Enjoy!
@@TheScandoman No worries here. Kodi is not food or treat motivated. He is also extremely picky and will leave food in his bowl when he has had enough. For him, it is the interaction and play that is most rewarding. I know this because he will pick interaction and play over treats every time.
@@kodigoldenboy Cool! 😀
Sounds like it could be a rewarding and rewording experience!
I look forward to more videos!
Enjoy!
Um op he doesn't understand English
