To all the comments: this cat is Murray, he has had no sedation, I promise. He is a very good boy and extremely shy, his main line of defense is to flatten his body to the table and not move a muscle hoping nobody will see him. I am the girl making the video, Murray is a cat I rescued from a feral cat rescue in Salem, OR. He lived there from 8wks-10mo, nobody adopted him in all that time beacuase he was always glued to the back of his kennel scared sick- this was misinterpreted as unpredictability and aggression. He is the most gentle cat I have ever met and doesn't have a mean bone in his body. I used him for this video so I could go really slow and go demonstrate l the steps clearly. Also, these videos are prearranged so that the film crew and person in the video are in the hospital at the same time. The chances of having an actual patient needing the same thing at the same time that also has photo consent from the owner is very unlikely for these types of demonstrations; hence why most of our videos have compliant animals, they are our own animals most of the time. Thank you all for watching and please know that I have used this technique countless times and it keeps everyone safe, most of all the patient!
Thank you for going slow! If you don’t mind me asking a further question, I don’t have a cat mask or anything, is there any way I can burrito a cat to cover their face? I have at least three scars from two nail sessions from this one cat I’m working with, and his main method of attack is biting and holding on. He’s not even my cat, I’m doing this as a favor, and his owner is sick so I feel bad giving up.
Murray is amazing. So very glad you rescued him. My cat that needs a purrito is a little more of a Tasmanian devil… so slow is good so I see the steps. Yay!!
This cat is scared off his senses, because he's at the vet. I absolutely recognize this expression from one of my cats. They just accept that they are now going to die😂 And the vet is like "how come you cannot give her the medication? She is so calm."
You are totally right, the kitty in the video is Murray, the best cat in the world. I used him so I could go slow and show everyone the technique. However, when you become a cat handling pro, this is actually a pretty smooth process, just gotta be quick😉
Im pretty sure a human is able to restrain a cat lol. Just hold him still or get someone to hold while u do the towel wrap. Or feed gabapentin beforehand if ur cat is really non compliant
My cat had a vet here last year because I could not get her into a carrier. She nearly demolished my bathroom where she was locked away, so he could catch her. Anyway, long story short; she managed to get out when I opened the door to see what all the racket was about and the chase was on in the loungeroom! She will not allow herself to be restrained by anybody and she would be out of a towel in two seconds flat! Think twice when you take on a previously traumatised rescue cat!
I tried today for my 19 yrs old Tina . It worked beautifully ❤thank you doctor ! The other alternative was sedation which I didn’t want to do ! Thank you thank you thank you !!!!!
Respectfully, your prep for the subcut including the cat mask is going to be harder than just giving the subcut alone without. This video shows very clear steps, but I think a second video of how that applies to a struggling, squirming cat is a complementary must-have.
I love to watch people who are really professional and have skills like this. Such a contrast to many office jobs where often the only skillset seems to be brownnosing and blagging! I have been using this technique for putting eye ointment into the eyes of two kittens with pink eye. It's the only way to do it with these too! I also find it works best if the kittens are half-asleep, then you can get the stuff into their eyes almost without waking them up!
I just tried this to trim my 6 month old tips of his claws. The whole thing resembled a Tasmanian devil. My kittens claws have not been trimmed. I however have been shredded 😂
Thank you so much! While my cat wasn't nearly so well-behaved, my partner and I were able to swaddle her and administer her eyedrops (which she was most displeased by, of course).
Hi, thanks for the good description; can you tell me how to do an infiltration with salt walter into the nose ? our kitten doesn't really like to have the siringe in the nose, and I don't like to force her too strong, cause then she behaves completely defenseless/ passiv....
My cat would never sit still for that. She'll sit on my lap if I'm sitting down, but she won't even let me pick her up. She struggles to get down. If I do anything more than pet her when she is laying down, she will jump and run. And the head restraint, I'd be sure to lose a finger or two trying to put that on her. LOL
@@agentmaryland1239 No, he's actually close. This cat is scared off his senses, because he's at the vet. I absolutely recognize this expression from one of my cats. They just accept that they are now going to die😂 And the vet is like "how come you cannot give her the medication? She is so calm."
why do all videos only show the most docile of kitties, i have a hell spawn demon cat and have no idea how to give her her meds, I just want her to feel better
Have just tried to get my cat clipped unsuccessfully. No purrito will hold him. The cat clipping lady only managed to get one paw done. I’ve got a bitten hand, shredded arms and scratched tummy.
And then you go to the cat youtube channel and he uploaded the same video eith title “how to score with tatooed biker nurses, step one: don’t claw them to death”

I love Murray.
What is Murray?🤔
Is that mask actually cat friendly? Seems stressful to me... At my cat's vet they have a little clear astronaut helmet
Murray is amazing. So very glad you rescued him. My cat that needs a purrito is a little more of a Tasmanian devil… so slow is good so I see the steps. Yay!!
One of the most chilled cats I've seen on YT. Wish mine was that calm 😆
This cat is scared off his senses, because he's at the vet. I absolutely recognize this expression from one of my cats. They just accept that they are now going to die😂 And the vet is like "how come you cannot give her the medication? She is so calm."
My cat would probably be that chill. She normally just wanted to climb on me and just hang there.
Yeah, my cat won’t stay that still. My cat would hiss, growl, scratch and bite
@@heatherluckman8394 Poor you! Well, at least your cat is energetic😂
Oh, trust me. MY CAT LITTERALLY CLIMBS THE CIELING
Ingredients: One cat, two towels, salsa and black beans optional
Prep time: Approximately 45 seconds
Kitty is so adorable and loving the towel wraps 🥰🥰🥰
I'm not a vet, but I'm 100% positive any cat that needs the purrito won't sit that still...
😄
It's a "just in case" type deal. Not a vet but I can understand restraining cat if they might try to run or escape

Awww little purrito. He’s like “do what thou whilst hooman”.
I am dying laughing at this cat! What a team player lol
Cat looked like Hannibal at the end.

How is that cat so chill!
They make edibles for cats now
Awwww this cat took it like a champ. Hope he got lots of treatos
That is the most chill cat I have ever seen.
Very interesting and professional!!! Such a cute patient!!! Thanks!!!
Such a chill tuxedo kitty. Very posh.
That's such a calm kitty! 💕
A very patient cat you have there.
A very patient patient
Wow! Wish my wiggle worms were that still and patient!
This the cutest thing ive seen all week

I think they chose the best cat for the video. What a good boy!

My cat is a champion in being wiggly. Getting him to get to sit still is a challenge even with a helper.

Great AHT video on restraint. Would be nice to see a less cooperative cat as well if you do an updated version of your video.
Obviously that cat is a paid actor.
This was a great demonstration. Very helpful for my feisty kitten at home. As a groomer, I won’t put the techs through her sass. I dremel at home
Thank you so much. Love the 2 towels because they escape out of one. 😮
3:04.... This cat deserves an Oscar or a raise
😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻
Thank you, Amy & Murray!
Vreau să văd metoda asta pe o pisică care nu stă, nu pe una care oricum nu e nevoie să folosești metoda.
This cat is a paid actor !!!
Calmest cat in existence
My cat would never let me do this 🤣I'd be shredded ribbions!
Thank you so much! While my cat wasn't nearly so well-behaved, my partner and I were able to swaddle her and administer her eyedrops (which she was most displeased by, of course).
This turned from interesting, to adorable, to sudden cat BDSM cosplay lol
does this work on horses too?
He knows ur recording and doesn't wanna give up his escape techniques
This lady was so professional, I was waiting for her to say ' purrito ', but she never did :(
She did say ..that's how you make a cat purrito" at the very end.
That's one chill cat
The cat in the iron mask!!!
Ty for an excellent demonstration. 😺😺😺
I need to clip my dog's nails, so I looked up how to do this and now I'm here. I'm making a ruff-ito! 😆
That cat is so calm, i think its broken.

Three Cheers for the Cat!
Good kitty he looks so cute
Well done, young lady!!!
Для чего этот маскарад я так и не поняла
but the question is how do u get ur cat on that towel?
In the comment section: “my cat would...”
Know something is up if I tried to make him lay on anything 🤣
that's one spicy purrito
I want to know the salary of that cat. It's just too calm to do all this demo for free. 😁
Me: This seems easy enough * proceeds to try and purrito my cat *
My cat: * enters helicopter mode *
And now his new nickname is Chopper.
It's a Maxwell cat!
You tube usually never show high restraint cats videos
How much did sedate this cat?
That demo assistant kitty nid a raise! Veri good boi! XDDD
thank you
What happens if I want extra guac?
Thanks
I have a skinny cat (she has stomach issues so she’s naturally really skinny) will she be okay to take and get her nails trims?
What a good boy, Murray
i just watched a cat tunring into an armadillo wtf
My devil spawn isnt so cooperarive. He will wiggle out of everything
How can i do this for my kitty who hates flea meds and freaks out when she smells them? :(
Isn't that's the same cat
From squish that cat video?
Thank you for the information! 😊
vet: this cats being very still and calm
the cat: wooooaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh like what if.... what if... i sits... but i dont fits
That cat is clearly been lightly sedated, everyone.
Nope! He is just a really shy boy and his defense mechanism is to not move a muscle. I am the girl in the video and that's my boy Murray.
No
That is an extremely tolerant cat lol
My cat would never sit still for that. She'll sit on my lap if I'm sitting down, but she won't even let me pick her up. She struggles to get down. Bish got this cat looking like Hannibal lecture
"man, i haven't been that comfurrtable for a long time"

that is the most MELLOW CAT!! LOL
With the mask on, this cat looks like an armadillo.
The cat is a paid actor
This cat doesn't require a towel wrap. Give the kitty the iv she will put it herself
Sis, I think that cat is deceased.
What why would you say that???
Yeah..its not moving at all...

The stress of being at the vet makes the cat more submissive. YMMV at home.
why do all videos only show the most docile of kitties, i have a hell spawn demon cat and have no idea how to give her her meds, I just want her to feel better

I'd be in emergency with my eyes clawed out if I tried that with my cat 😑
Why do all these videos have docile, compliant cats?
That cat looks like he's biding his time while silently plotting murder in his head...
i'd be dead by even trying to get that leg in there.
good luck with that method peeps
Yea I'm not a vet I just came here for the cat
this cat is not moving at all. I tried this on my cat, and it's hard because he moves around and hates being restrained in anyway. Very cute kitty

I watch videos on RUclips of cats who need extra love and I end up becoming a complete emotional wreck 3 minutes later
A tuxedo cat just like my tuxedo cat
Is that Meowingtons??!! (Deadmau5's cat)
I want that cat!!!!
i just tried this with my cat and cursed at me in five different languages
