  • Yesterday we modelled a line-based family, today we will model a similar one using railing.

    is this also the case with railings that have corners in plan? i.e. you again need to calculate the setout manually to get it right?

      Yes, I believe you are correct. You need to have different setting for different length.

      Possible, but .... I would stick with railing.... or maybe curtain wall?

      I think you can. This is a railing modified from an out of the box railing family from Autodesk. You can place it on stairs. The only thing you need to adjust is the panel length, to suit the length of your stairs.

    As you pointed out, railing is more versatile than line based. Howeveri found railing can be temperamental when used on stairs around the corner of the flight(the balusters never at the place where they should) Can you demonstate a tutorial showing stair railing(wall based) that complys with As1428.1.
    Thanks.

    At 13.52 why u add half of post length...

    • @BINHE615
      @BINHE615  2 года назад

      Because you need to offset the post by half of the width so it starts from the very end of the sketch line.

      Can you find the link in the description of the video? If not, I probably didn't save the family. Try to create it yourself and I can promise you that you will benefit from it.
