i love how genshin's main storyline is always family friendly but then u have the world quests, in game books and notes and small details that literally reveal how young children were incinerated to death at the dainichi mikoshi or how people were killed and offered to a giant bird that couldn't care less
Thisss I agree. That's why whenever people talk about "wanting genshin to be dark" I point them to all the lore and quests that actually shows that.

i remember i found a chest in sumeru and there were some notes next to it vividly describing human mutations and organ failures like hello!!! it was so graphic and so random it caught me off guard

The fact that Nahida will allow for extra dialogue in any Sumeru event makes her pay to win for Genshin lore videos.
Boom, nahida is a game changer, tone down a bit with the archons hyv.

Considering the Wisdom Orb still having blood when we killed Yurochka, it is safe to assume that Yurochka just finished off Eichigen not long before we arrived, and was yet to touch Eichigen’s underlings (noting the order regarding target priority stated in the letter). And Yurochka’s title as the “second lieutenant” seems to be very low in Fatui ranking if the person is deemed suitable for the assasination job without notice from the Harbingers.
Good analysis of the event lore, very fascinating side story to enjoy about the Fatui’s operation.
I think in this scenario his ranking didn't matter, because once Harbingers get a wind on this situation it would've been a purge, maybe even for whole Sumeru branch of Fatui. Second lieutenant or not, he needed to perish
@@casperfriendly6478 I'm not very knowledgeable in Fatui info, why will they be purged and what danger caused this simply by Elchingen's silly fungi plan? What danger could he pose to the Fatui that the Harbingers will purge the lower ranks once it's known that he acted out of order and the Fatui affiliated didn't stop him?
@@Haru-rs2su Elchingen did something that goes against one core aspect of every single Fatui plan: avoiding open confrontation/war with nations. As Pierro said: "this game doesn't end with checkmate", they need enough strenght to go to war with Celestia AND THEN The Abyss. This is also why La Signora did a hit-and-run on Venti to gain gnosis, instead of openly confronting him or at least not being so vary of alarming Knights of Favonius. If Elchingen succeded in full-scale attack all over Sumeru, it would mean another war with entire nation. Harbingers would've personally handed all responsible's heads under the Sanctuary of Surathana just to avoid this scenario and lose maybe even more

Then Ningguang severed all affiliation with the Fatui only exception being the Northland Bank. But because of that the Fatui agents in the Chasm are trapped or either dead because of Childe’s action.
@@blitzus5022 Yes, but we're talking about different situation. From Childe's perspective, Morax faked his death the moment he realized that Geo Gnosis isn't inside exuvia nor in our possession. In order to weed him out and prevend gnosis from vanishing god knows where (pun intended), he had to put Liyue itself in danger, no matter how many bridges he burned along the way. Elhinger made this plan AFTER Dottore got both gnoses, so it didn't serve any purpose other than showing off his results with Fungi controlling devices
i feel like even if elchingen escaped and yurochka failed to assassinate him (leading to harbingers' involvement), arlecchino would still find a way to eliminate him
the fatui is a large organization i doubt there was only one agent acting to kill elchingen it was inevitable

If the fatui assassin really did kill Elchingen's subordinates does that include the fontaine worker who managed the stall during the event? If this is true i'd feel bad for the poor guy.
You could actually talked to him after the event, he said most of the staff including him was clueless about Elchingen's true intention. However, they are still being called for investigation by the Matra.

Only those Fatui personnel were directly following Elchingen's orders were to be killed.
I think they would be safe tho, the guys who don’t know about the plan will not be killed, as doing that will just cause more unnecessary trouble.
So we have a possibility here: They only kill Elchingen.
The ones killed were those who were part of the escape going to jail part, as those would be the only ones there, the rest would be living out their normal routine.
So the only 'innocents' killed might be some matra or eremites that were part of the prison escort.
I went and did this epilogue quest after seeing this video. After killing Yurochka, the "Tester becomes the tested" random quest popped up nearby. It is the one where you have to rescue an akademiya researcher who is being attacked by Fungi and when you talk to him he tells you his serum did not work again. That really creeped me up cuz it somehow sounds connected to Elchingen's research, probably also why they placed this epilogue quest in this location.

The same thing literally just happened to me. What's weirder is that the researcher thanked me for my _continued_ assistance even though I've never had that encounter before and have never met the guy. SUUUPER sketchy if you ask me
Is this the quest that activates when you get near the Aeonblight boss fight? Cause if so then yeah it pops up for me everytime I go to fight it but I have know idea if it’s above ground 😂
Now thanks to this event, we have to start more vigilant, start to walking around nation every time you finish event quest per day to find hidden details.

That sounds incredibly stressful & anxiety provoking. Instead, you can skip the events, quests and their lengthy dialogues entirely - and that's okay. Play the game casually, collect mints and berries and occasionally catch fish. Open world exploration.
The best part about Genshin is players don't NEED to do anything: we don't need to pay attention to the lore, we don't need to finish events and you we definitely don't need the new 5 star characters to clear content.

But random soldiers in the field just like that... Not as obvious.
@@devolays for that kind of interaction it's more as extra epilogue we basically asked they opinion about the event, it's not some kind of hidden details about the event story like this.
@@kek-wing well we don't have to do it though, a certain blue cat will do it for us 😁, I'm talking more about the sense of achieving the secret, for someone like me who follow the story, lore, and read information in game, these hidden information make the story more interesting, at least to me.
I actually stumbled across this dialogue when collecting Nilotpala flowers for Layla coming up. This was pretty sick for a lore drop. It shows that even the Fatui will police themselves… in their own way, to put it lightly, I guess.
I also stumbled upon it when doing the aranara quest, I was so confused

Fatui is disciplined for sure and they do have bottom lines, remember Captain said Signora's method tarnished her honor or something. What Signora did in Inazuma was war crimes and even her fellow harbingers does not approve of her method
Hoyoverse really nailed this amazing event. This tiny detailed and tiny side dialogue is really amazing 100/10.
This is interesting, but i also hate how i can miss the lore if people dont point it out. Nobody would know to do that.
In the old days, it would take multiple playthroughs of an RPG to catch something like this. But since Genshin has active continuous storytelling it has to be this way or the main storyline becomes too long for those who want to rush past the story for rewards.
@@IN-tm8mw Precisely. Alot of people have been talking about "a skip button for dialogues". Most times the dialogues hint at some interesting side story like this. But when people rush through it, they simply miss it...That why I always take my time and read through as the event progresses, so I don't have to rush in the end for some reward.
@@kio51423 me too, i love a wellcrafted story and lore. that's the main reason i dropped other games and still play Genshin. But the game was designed for the majority of causal gamers. So i'm happy when the developers find balance in design.

@@horneaus8362 LOLz, id love to see more anxiety polls. i saw a few but not enough to collect enough data. My personal anxiety is currently caused by the Peer pressure of feeling the "need" to login moment. been playing mmos for 20 years but after Covid i didn't have time to login. that forced me to go back to single player games or causal games. So i wonder how it feels for others. are they all like me? or something else.
Just goes to show how much work goes to the storyline where even the events have meaning, not just filler or for fun. Some may play it just for rewards or for fun but like previous events this one had more story to it. Like a side quest that shows you what else goes on in the world of Teyvat that you not have noticed.
Yes, it goes to show how much time and effort they put into temporary limited time events (like those midsummer Islands) instead of pouring that energy into the primary Archon quest or new permanent end game content. I guess they really love enforcing a dreadful sense of FOMO.
What happens if a player misses out on these temporary events? The devs have stated that won't bring back missed content (story/event/quests) so only those who 'play for the lore' will miss out on stuff.
Oh, but there's more... Limited time event items (like the 4 star 'festering desire' and albedo's signature sword) might never be accessible to new players in the future.

@@kek-wing devs literally said they are working on a feature to allow replays of event cutscenes in the same interview that everyone touts as evidence that "NO SECOND SPIRAL ABYSS NO ENDGAME CONTENT OMG", if they can bring back gadgets like the lyre and balloon from 1.4 windblume it's only a matter of time for the weapons

Out of topic, but does anyone feel Yae's timing to come to Sumeru after Scaramouche's defeat kinda sus (since sumeru archon quest was a prerequisite)? Like, why would a chief editor and head shrine maiden have to accompany a writer all the way to another nation? Yae was the one actually gave Scara the gnosis, so i wonder if she might want to check on him or even give him a little fix. Honestly, I feel like Yae was the one more involved in Scara's life than Ei herself. I will look forward to Scara's voiceline about her
Based on Cyno's letter i feel like she is there to help confirm with the elements that are used in the wisdom orb, which include Liyue adepti's art and Inazuma omni ubiquity net. But since Yae normally aims for more than one goal when she does something i think checking out Scacmouche is also part of the reason too

Have any of you guys encountered Venti at Starsnatch Cliff on V3.1? I know I have; he literally stood on the cliff where we took place about stormterror / Dvalin and talked about "What a good and healthy grown boy Razor was."
Don't believe me if you will, but I THINK, MiHoYo is on the verge of sending Lore Side Quests varying on the event that is shown.
I encountered Venti too, I used that spot as a wishing spot in order to try to get Venti
They are doing a similar thing now during the Photo Event. If you teleport to Chinju Forest (Inazuma) for the 4th photo, you find Tartaglia right beside the teleport and Yoimiya (and a group of kids from the city) a little to the east. They are voiced, too !

Sorry to say this but if you only found Venti, then you missed a few 🙂 Like Lisa was sitting on a balcony in mondstadt or like rosaria was standing outside of mondstadt looking over the sea to the festival or how about razor himself standing around near the other side of the bridge, looking to mondstadt? Can't remember if there were more xD
@@Gnowimaster I think it was only those three that was there. I only encountered razor but neither Rosaria nor Lisa despite given the hints. Actually, I think all the characters were outside their areas. Diluc was mentioned, Sucrose, Diona like, I think the whole cast during the event was available to talk.
It was by total coincidence I encountered them after my 2nd quest (and subsequent quests) near Chatrakam cave, and seeing the description on the device we get after defeating Yoruchka...
We were definitely too late to save Elchingen, because that's the only probable scenario in which Yoruchka would get a blood smeared Fungus pokeball.

I think it’s more the Fatuui aren’t cool with the fact that some of them are out running their own operations without the Harbingers knowing. Them getting exposed would ruin diplomatic ties with nations so it would be way harder for them to operate their shady stuff behind the scenes. Especially when it comes to the Harbingers attempting to get more of the gnosis but it’s more fun to think they’re nervous about some fungi bois.

It's really great that they're now adding little characters and npc lore to event, also thank you I didn't know this side story exist till now
I'm guessing its to prevent the game's age rating from going up, but it really does seem like they're hiding the more darker tones of the story that Hoyo would normally do in Honkai in Genshin's environmental lore instead of out in the open.
Like, how was I supposed to know Elchingen was killed by the Fatui if I hadn't gone and explored a bit? Or that Childish Jiang's parents had seelies that told us what happened to them? And don't even get me started on Fate of the Fighters
I really appreciate the work you put into producing these lore videos. They enhance my immersion and appreciation to mihoyo's story artists.
Recently I've found the dialog contains too much irrelevant details that detach me from the story. I absolutely need these videos to better understand what I'm skipping.

I'm sad I only knew about his secret second quest in the final part and only fought the fatui and got the items. If it wasn't for your video I wouldn't even know it existed. I hope Mihoyo can hint us a little bit more of these other places 'cause I'm too dumb to realize it by myself
Ye same, tho I kinda also like this, they are like pleasant surprises that helps build the world and even if you don’t know about it I’m sure Hoyoverse will hint at it happening in the future, this can be mentioned maybe in the next fungi event where Cyno is more involved and told us what happened afterwards or you can have really amazing people who makes content like this video
Also even if you don’t know about this, Hoyoverse will probably still deliver the same message (The Fatui being ruthless) when future Archon quests get release
I think this is the 2nd time we know about a F̶a̶t̶u̶s̶ Fatoos making up a plan on their own to earn some recognition. The 1st time was the Inazuma shrine quest where a F̶a̶t̶u̶s̶ Fatoos aimed to make Watatsumi island and the Shogunate go to war again.

kinda sad we didn't get more of Cyno in the event, i saw him at the start of the event and was thinking maybe we'd battle him in the future. or at least hear one voice line from him. after i read his letter it nade more sense to why he was there.

So you meant to tell me that I missed 1/3 of the event lores by not visiting that particular area in Sumeru? I didn't know Sido and Elchingen shown up in the world map giving us insight surrounding the tournament. And a bonus for players with Nahida in the party will give more extra dialogue.
As a heads up, tartaglia and yoimiya are in chinju forest, if this is how they're planning to do hidden lore
I accidently meet sido when try find secret teleport way and do quest meet aranakin again.
But yeah i miss elchigen cause focus on final and thinking nothing special after sido dissapear from that area, but atleast now maybe i will try meet the assassin

Wow! This is amazing and frustrating at the same time. It's one thing if it occurred close by the event but how the hell are players supposed to know to travel to some random spot in the rainforest? This is a huge lore reveal about the Fatui that probably 99% of players will miss
thank you for sharing this, i only got the orb and letter at the end but didn't know there was more from previous days. I think it's amazing we have these hidden stories in events too, thought it makes me wonder if maybe we'll have a bonus side quest in a few days or something, considering we got these items that gives us a llittle bit of behind the scenes when this is a time-related event, like the one with miitoboru
Genshin gets better and better, and now includes hidden events that we don't even know about. Thanks for this video. (And I'm still blown away by all the rewriting of lore after completing the Sumeru archon quest. )

I'm curious about the ending of the Genshin Impact main story? When we are once again faced with the "Unknown God" who is responsible for taking our siblings and also She is responsible for the destruction of Khaenri'ah!

That information is not yet revealed and it's something that will happen as we progress in the story. There is no possible way to find what'll happen in the story without mihoyo revealing it to us.
Uhhhhhhhhhhh we'll see...but we definitely won't find out anything until AT LEAST 2026

I'm so gutted I missed this. I need to keep a lookout for these things more, or find information where people post these things so I don't miss them in future. I enjoyed the event but honestly it's tarnished now cause I really like this lore and this was a fantastic hidden edition

I actually killed the assassin and read the letter only knowing he assassinated someone but not sure who. This clears up what I didn’t know 👍🏻

I saw a video about the last part yesterday and checked it out for myself. I didn't know about the earlier parts. Imo this is a huge step forward in MiHoyo's story telling. Hiding these little nuggets for us to find adds depth to the world.
Its kinda dissapointing for me that i cant read it myself. Who would think miles away from the main event there's a hidden dialogue i dont know of. Especially the dialogue of kaven and alhaitham about the sage downfall 🤣
I was ironically looking for fishing spots north of the cave bc I still haven’t gotten the Sumeru fishing rod and found Sido there, didn’t know Elchingen was there too though after act 4 though lmao but finding Sido made me wonder if someone was evil at the event but tbh I thought it was gonna be Katuliya not Elchingen
Me who has never once done the event yet to know this because I never did Yae Miko's quest nor finished any of Sumeru's story quest so I'll have to do the quickstart option for the rewards.
Hoyoverse, continuing to hide lore in their typical temporary events that can easily missed instead of making them part of a side questline or archon quest.
Thanks for this, I saw someone mention about the Fatui in the last day but I completely missed the days before that.
The way cat researches about game in detail and minute clues, i get very impressed by that and started to absorve such clues and details in real life 😂 it becomes really interesting in day to day life when you focus on those detail like why someone said that or did that or why that thing or such sign is showing there etc 😂
In day to day life we don't care much about tons of things that is in action all the time around us, starting to understand those actions really makes things more interesting. 😂👍🏻
It's this thought and attention to detail that goes into quests and lore that make teyvat feel like a little more living, breathing world
The only problem I have is, how in the world are we supposed to know to go to these extra locations for more lore?

No wonder it seem so random to find a Fatui Assassin, I missed the chance to talk to the perpetrator. I only go area near the event domain.

You can still go and get the Wisdom orb and letter, you don't have to go through the whole chain to get the Fatui spawn.
I'm grateful for this video, and upset I didn't participate in the survey about this event in time and specially for missing these things.
This game indeed rewards exploration, but this is kinda on another level, considering the event it limited time only...most people, like me, missed it.
This seems to be getting a habit with Genshin and I don't like it either!
Yesterday I was just exploring the area after I already finished the event,
and I was so surprised that we got something like that (besides the event story) that gives us more lore about it.
Genshin is just awesome.

I didn't know that and there was no hint to explore the north from the Chatrakam Cave. I just played the event and that was it xD

There's kind of a hint, only if you know Sanskrit. Chatrakam seems to be a clipping of "chattrakānām," which means "of little mushrooms." This kind of clipping is also seen in Jnagarbha Day. Jnagarbha seems to be a clipping of "jñānagarbha," which means "knowledge matrix."
Elchingen such a simp and I understand him.😃
And as a Russian speaker I giggle at name of fatui at the end. "Yurochka" - it so sweet and goofy that hoyoverse give him a diminutive form of name.🥺
Fun useless facts, I completed this event nearing the end of the event and this is what happened:
1) I can't find Elchingen near the spot mentioned after Act IV for some reason. And this is before Act V is initiated.
2) After Act V, I found the Fatuus at that location before even starting Act VI. Elchingen is already being transported at that point but Paimon saying Miko said he could put up a final struggle is weird because I haven't reach that dialogue which is in Act VI itself.
3) After Haniyyah took away our Fungi, we could do the training domain lol (gameplay and lore doesn't match up well)
I missed the whole side lore tidbits except the last fatui agent, even then it was because I saw people talking about it.
Fatui: assassinations, poisonings, mass murder, awakening ancient gods, subterfuge, sending harbingers to manipulate/hook up with the Seven,
Elchingen: okay but hear me out: Team Rocket scheme.
Fatui: He is too dangerous to be kept alive!
Also if we go to the domain where we training with the new fungi, we can find our opponent later. We can interact and also use Nahida skill on them.
1st day i found elchingen and a girl named fast ajilenakh something
2nd day found dude obessed with ice thing
3rd day found iron named guy
I forget what the order but basically they are gonna be our opponent later(all contestant before Layla) and by interacting with them we know their strategy and what fungi they main of. And also i found them in where jelly swap shop too
I can feel how with every update we get closer to Honkai levels of tragedy

Haniyyah should be fine. Dottore's Fatui only targeted Elchingen because his recklessness to earn the Harbinger's recognition was being a liability to their efforts, alongside other Fatui members that helped him
