Nothing makes me happier then seeing other people like Crashbox. When I finally remembered that I'd watched it, I knew I could never forget it again. Looking back, it had a huge hand in forming who I am today.

i truly believe that this show had some form of deeper impact on me as a child above just learning math, english, and cool facts. i guess it’s just the unique way of how the imagery was used to convey emotions. the stuff is still stuck with me to this day. does that make any bit of sense?

Crashbox: The only show that was worth waking up early for and is still, to this day, the only educational show that I’m willing to sit down and watch (beside Wild Krats)
In all seriousness, I really believe that shows like Crashbox and Making Fiends shaped who I am as a person. Not only did they spark my fascination and appreciation for the more “creepier” side of things, but it also made learning fun and legitimately enjoyable.
Looking back at it all brings a nostalgic tear down my face...

I remembered two "games" from that show. The one with the Barbie dolls and that weird zoo keeper one! I kept remembering the first part of the intro and that it was on HBO family, so I kept thinking it "Brainbox" or "Computermind" or something along those lines!

This really is one of the most under recognized and under appreciated shows of a generation. I was born in 2006, and I still have vivid memories of sitting in front of the TV on worry less weekend mornings. This show will forever hold a massive cultural and emotional significance to me, nothing else in terms of television has ever come close.

I remember sitting at my tube television in the morning and being excited to watch this show but I think it had something to do with loving claymation and horror elements which is why this was my favorite childhood show and corpse bride is my favorite childhood movie both were things I didn’t want to look away from and I think really shaped my individual personality when it comes to my creative nature
I so hear you, this was such a good show as a kid and it holds up. It's probably one of the reasons I love all the Laika movies like Coraline and Kubo

You see the drones of Educational Shows they release in the recent years with not even a fraction of the heart or personality that any of the Crashbox ‘inbetween’ scenes have.

Every few years I’ll randomly think of this show and completely forget the name. I search the most random keywords until I finally find it. Crazy how I never found this creepy but it seems like it’s engraved into my brain like no other show or cartoon.

This was such a touching review with an interesting interview to go with it! I'm a film school student way too old to be watching kids shows, yet I have such a strong fascination with CrashBox. It's the perfect show that you can listen to in the background as you multitask (such as drawing, cleaning, et cetera), yet look up at eventually when you want to see some great animation or funny moments.
The first time I watched CrashBox was on a hotel tv because they didn't have PBS Kids and nothing else interesting was on. The episodes stuck with me, yet I forgot about the show until a few years ago when I found out the stop-motion studio, CuppaCoffee, made one of my favorite guilt-pleasure films, A Miser Brothers' Christmas. Comparing the two works, they have a lot in common, from the campy voice performances to the detailed sets and characters to the strange mice-en-scene and styles incorporated in each segment.
Watching CrashBox as an adult got me more invested in writing, reading, puzzle solving, and research, which very little shows targeted at an elementary demographic fail to do.
Today was the day I finally found the name to this Fantastic Kids Show
I searched up “kids show where there are robots that live and sing inside a box”
And it brought me directly to the name.
I didn’t even think or thought that this may possess been a dream or made up. Just forgotten, I remember small parts of watching this series. Once I found it
Was I crying so many good memories I had going home from school and watching this. Was like a reward.
I ultimately forgot about this show and replaced it with the video games modern day movies.

Literally seeing clips of this show again just reminded me of how much I had this show on repeat when my family wasn’t using the TV. Like I completely remember the segments, and I’m so happy to have found the show again, and that I’m not the only one to have watched it.
Dude, Crashbox and Blue's Clues was my Life Blood. I loved everything about it. I miss it and I wish I could find all the others on HBO Family Kids.
Also, The Mechanic Robot made me fear the dark. And Word Shake made me sad whenever it was done because I was told that the French Chef died at the end.

I loved this show as a kid. I've never forgotten anything about it. Today, somebody asked me if I remembered a quirky, odd stop motion show on HBO. I said "Crashbox?" Yep. It was this show. This amazing, odd, brainy show.
I remember having to stay home one time when I was sick at the age of about 5 or 6, and a rerun of Crashbox came on. It was the most incredible thing my kid brain had ever witnessed, and I spent forever trying to find it again. And I did! ....Ten years too late.
I remember this show because (I was like 4 at the time), my mom would go to work and put on random tv shows and this one was always on. It scared me so much but, I loved it. I watched reruns so no one else I knew remembered it so I thought I was crazy until I found this vid lmao.

When I was a kid, I used to wake up real early and watch crashbox On Demand.
I’m only 19 and the way Crashbox taught me so much math,new words, problem solving, it really advanced me when I was younger!! Distraction news taught me how to listen without paying attention to the main character(multitasking),learned to pay attention to detail with the detective mugshot and I was a weird kid, Coraline was my favorite movie and THIS was my favorite show ever with all the creepy looking things it always kept me intrigued! Crashbox was just the perfect show to little me. Me and my sister watched this early in the morning on the weekends long after it was canceled. And just the vibe and the sounds oh man the sounds are so nostalgic, maybe it was just little autistic adhd me finding something with just as much weird energy as me, it was like you put all of my weird random thoughts on to a table and carefully Frankensteined them together,or maybe it was my love for all forms of animation that continues today but this show was my jam. Still I could always count on the fact that later that night long after I should have gone to bed I could see reruns of Oswald and Little Einstein, the only shows that really made me calm and subconsciously made me love art and music. I strongly remember Crashbox and was a big fan at one point, as big of being a fan of Crashbox gets. I enjoyed it, but looking back it was SUPER WEIRD.
I'm glad to have grown up with Crashbox, A Little Curious, and Happily Ever After Tales. Being exclusively on HBO Family made them like those cool cousins who'd sometimes come to visit, since we didn't always keep premium channels with our cable.
I loved the art style of this show as a kid, and still do. Both my sister (4.5 years older) and I would watch it nonstop whenever our parents happened to get a free trial of HBO. Kinda forgot about it until I happened to be scrolling through Max one day, as soon as the opening started I was hit with nostalgia.
this show has been tucked away in my subconscious for my entire life. i couldn’t remember the name, but the imagery and theming in this show impacted me deeply as a kid. i’m 22 now, and i really do think that it shaped my personality, or at least helped to do so. i always loved creepy and eclectic things growing up, something my parents encouraged in me. so cool to see this show again now that i know the name. and wonderful to know others appreciated it so much as well :)

I am 24 years old. I was sitting at my desk, doing homework and listening to "The Lottery" by The Used. Suddenly, I was hit by a deep and visceral memory that I now realize was the slob man mixed with the math robot mixed with all of those gears in the background. That was all I could remember--that and a deep sense of being unsettled. After trying tons of google searches, I was at the point of googling "2000s kid show gears" when I saw the news anchor lady from crashbox. Even though that wasn't what I had initially remembered, something about it felt Right. And now here I am, relieved and yet thoroughly disturbed. I don't know anyone in my family who would've had an HBO Max subscription, but I'm pretty sure I watched it with my cousins. That means that we probably watched it once on vacation or something. And yet it has stuck in my mind for more than 15 years. That is nuts!

With how much I absolutely adore this show and how much of an impact it had on me as a kid I'm surprised I didn't see this video till now. I'm happy I did though because this video despite its length was so well edited, shot, written, and presented that it just blew me away. Thanks as well for reaching out to Adam Shaheen as I had yet to see any kind of behind the scene information or interviews from the crew that worked on it, that was just a cherry on top of everything else to make this the perfect six and a half minutes. My six year old LOVES this show on demand and can't get enough (he loved it as a 4 year old too, but is able to get a lot more meaning out of it now and engage with it more directly). I knew there was something special about it and am quite drawn to the animation style, character development, music and sketch writing myself, all top-notch and unique. Is there a name for negative nostalgia. It's like I feel the nostalgic feeling of remembering this, but I don't *want* to remember it too. It disturbed me and creeped me out as a kid and felt like a fever dream so remembering it is a bit of a headache.
