The "yingly yangly" guitar sound. That you say has stuck by seens rock n roll night club. Is good observation. Because it's kind of like Mac's trademark sound. Im not gonna ask for more Mac because im sure you'll continue.

Its funny how you keep singing and having fun when chamber of reflection is ending because Mac himself always does that when performing it live 🙏 great channel! i'll continue my binge watching now 😁

Only suggestion I could give is that your videos feel more like a podcast, due to the long runtime & just the general structure of your content, the gags are funny though & i appreciate the effort you put into the editing, maybe think about whacking these onto a few podcast platforms, i'm not sure whether that's possible due to copyright law & all that but regardless, fantastic stuff! 10/10 from Devon, UK.
This album is a time machine for me. Whenever I hear it, I'm instantly transported back to the time in my life when I heard it for the first time 4 years ago. Simpler times... (edit) I'm loving this Demarco series!
You know my stance on music as a time machine. When people say you can't time travel they are so wrong! I think the albums you hold closest to your heart in your lifetime are those that you listened to at the best/worst times. That's probably why so many of us listen to the music we loved as a teenager and never truly move on.

You'd love 'Pepperoni Playboy' on youtube, I remember when I first got into Mac, Jesus just realising it's been about five years, but I used to watch that almost obsessively and it brings back so much nostalgia looking at his old line up and even style. The doc features a lot of songs from 'Salad Days' which is cool.
Can't wait for the video, dude. My final reccomendations for awhile are this old dog, pom pom/bobby jameson by ariel pink, and melophobia by cage the elephant. Love your channel!

We are half way through the whole discography! Next "Another one" and after that "This old dog". I really hope you do the whole thing and I hope you review "Here comes the cowboy" when it's out in may. Glad you've liked his discography so far, Mac is one of my favourite artists.

I was thinking of a way you could make the reviews more interesting. You say you listen to the records several more times after first listen so I think people would love to hear of your thoughts after you’ve fully digested an album and properly given it a listen. I love your DIS-COVERS as much as anyone else but a little summarization of your thoughts would be nice. 2 more albums to go and then we wait ‘til May for the next release which I’m very much looking forward to. On a separate note when you mention your love for synth-based projects such as Little Dark Age and Currents, I have a great recommendation for you, as a DIS-COVER episode or even just a personal listen on your own. Great vid! But you missed Mac's little message at the end! Another one (another album of Mac Demarco) also has a message at the end so make sure you don't take your headphones off until the record stops spinning! Maybe it's only the CD and digital versions that have the message but I think the vinyl have them as well. Again, great vid can't wait for more! Cheers from Portugal!
Hey, have you thought about listening to Joy as an Act of Resistance by IDLES? It's more diverse than their debut and has some real punchy, triumphant songs on it. It's no rush though since you seem to be enjoying the "synthy dream rock" stuff at the moment.
You took off your headphones early. At the end of the song "Jonny's Odyssey" Mac says "Hi, guys, this is Mac! Thank you for joining me, see you again soon, bye bye" :) . Or this ending missing on the vinyl version?
Song endings have fade outs for a reason mate. They are usually done so the song lingers on the listeners minds after listening to it. Sometimes fade outs are actually pretty hard to pull off right. And, like you said, some people do it just because they are lazy, but some people mean it.
I was joking. They're pretty much a by-product of the DJ era. The radio era. But they're often lazy too. A song can linger without a fade-out. It's pretty obvious which types of song need to 'repeat and fade'. I've only done it once myself (as far as I can remember right now) but I'm just a fan of definite stops.
