This was a good comparison, for sure! Make sure to see my wife’s comments in these videos. She might have different thoughts than me that’ll help you choose! Thanks for watching 💙🧡
This is the first I've watched of your channel and I love the review style. Actually comparing and saying what you like about each rather than just the one you pick. I'm a fan.
I appreciate that! It’s exactly why we do these videos! I know sometimes people want a winner but realistically I love giving my opinion on the seasonings so people can make a good decision on what they’re spending their money on!
That Holy Voodoo is one of my favorite rubs. I was watching another video last week about that Heath Riles Garlic Jalapeño, and I was wondering how it would compare to the Voodoo. Thanks for giving me the answer!
Excellent video! Ignore that schmoe that was negative. I’ve never tried either rub but every time I see them at the local grill store I go to I almost grab them. Sounds like this weekend I’ll be firing up the smoker. Keep up the great work!
Personally, I’d do the heaths for its savory notes with shrimp/fish. Being from NOLA we do bbq shrimp frequently, the sweet would take away from the seafood dish. As for the meat church voodoo hand down my fav for pork spare ribs and butts, just a light touch of sweet and very nice heat. Great review ..
I thought Holy Voodoo had more Jalapeño flavor, and Heath Riles Garlic Jalapeño had a little more heat. If I’m craving that jalapeño flavor, I’m reach for the Voodoo. But that Garlic Jalapeño Rub would be perfect for layering with a classic BBQ rub because of the simple Salt, Pepper, Garlic flavors it has! I’d recommend both for sure.
I go thru so much Riles Garlic/Jalapeno it isn't funny. My go to is his Garlic/Jalapeno and then Killer Hogs Hot BBQ, that combo on wings is phenomenal!!
Some other phenomenal seasonings, Harry Soo's (27 time grand champion) seasonings. Cajun Bait, their smoked jalapeno is ridiculous. I put it on everything. Give em a try, pretty sure you will like!
Maybe I'm just missing it but you have links for everything under the sun except the rubs. I'm not familiar with the Church rub so I'm not sure where to check it out.
Sorry about that, David! We actually sell Meat Church rubs on our website gulfcoastsmoke.com but are currently out of stock. You can find Meat Church at meatchurch.com!
My vote is for Heath riles jalapeño rub. It’s so dang good. This is probably not the most popular opinion but I got the OCHO (8 pack bundle) from meat church and was so underwhelmed. Maybe it’s because I’ve read so many reviews praising them. None were bad just expected more, Personally
Never tried the Health Riles...the holly voodoo is good, I wish it was a little more spicy. With holy cow and holy voodoo it's delisioso on pork ribs. 😋
@@GulfCoastSmoke His new chicken rub has dark color to it and has a mild kick to it. His apple rub has a very noticeable kick to it. His cherry rub, very good, slight taste of heat. His garlic butter is probably one of the best rubs I’ve tasted. No kick in that but very good
@@GulfCoastSmoke if you don't want to criticism, then don't put videos out.. It's a fact that he doesn't use it the way you did so its a waste of time video in my opinion..
@@davo912 You do realize you told me “what a stupid comparison” and to “get a real job please” right? How is that criticism? You’re just being rude at that point for no reason. “Hey, bro! Decent video but maybe next time try another one of Heath’s rubs, he’s known to use Garlic Jalapeño on everything!” That would be criticism.

I'm using holy voodoo for the first time today on ribs and chicken.

Great analysis! I didn’t notice any more jalapeño flavor on one over the other, but I think having different opinions always helps.
I see a Jalapeno Hospitality in the future!!! Great job!
I do absolutely love the jalapeno flavor so you never know ;) thank you brotha!
Nice 80’s music!
The MSG makes the difference 💯.
Man I’m getting the meat church for sure. Great video
Thanks, Eric! I’m glad it helped you out. Let me know what you think of it when you get it!

It was wonderful on the shrimp! I’m excited to keep trying it on different cuts of meat!

What are your 2 favorites from the Meat church Ocho ?
Voodoo and Gospel
@@GulfCoastSmoke the Holy gospel or the gospel label black ?
@@brasero20000 Black Label!

I have both of these rubs. Both are very good
They absolutely are!
Those shrimp look so good!!! Bacon wrapped shrimp with HOTspitality ASAP!
Oooooh!! That sounds bombbbbbbb
They're both great but the HR GJ has replaced the Vodoo for me.
Great job. The little grills needs some cooking times as well 👌
Absolutely, Carl! I love that little grill for quick dinners!
These are by far the two most used rubs in my collection.
They’re both very good brotha! You agree with what I said on the sweet vs savory?
Yes sir, couldn't have said it better myself!
Skrimps
Can’t go wrong throwing them on the grill!
I use Heath Riles on my ribs
It’s damn good stuff!
I have the entire Heath Riles and Meatchurch line of rubs
Awesome! What do you think of the two I compared today?
What would be your 4 favorites between all of them ?
I have some Heath Riley’s stuff and his products are spicy. And I didn’t buy anything spicy .
Really? Wow, I haven't tried too much of his stuff but I'm curious now. Which ones have you tried?

C’mon man, if you’re gonna make this video then you gotta pick one. Don’t cop out🙄👎🏽
I hope you have a good day brotha!
what a stupid comparision..Heath Riles always uses the Garlic Jalapeno Rub as a base rub and then he puts other rubs on top..get a real job please
😂😂😂 it’s too early for your day to be going this bad that you sit here and bash someone for doing their hobby! Good luck!

@@davo912 you must not watch all his videos then. I’ve seen several where he just uses that rub. Someone needs to give you a Sneakers bar.
