- We're making Memphis Style Dry Ribs using our brand new, award-winning Competition BBQ Rub! Simple BBQ is the best BBQ. Personally, I love a good dry rib, and we're adding a little Memphis flare to this recipe. Our new Competition BBQ Rub is sweet, spicy, sand savory. I developed this rub before Memphis in May, and it helped bring home 1st place ribs. This rub is great on pork, chicken, and beef. Get your hands on a bottle and try this recipe at home!

That garlic jalapeño AP rub is the best in the business, I can’t get enough of it. It smells amazing and tastes even better. After using it for the first time I stopped using all other AP rubs in the market. It’s basically all you need, also the competition rub is truly one of the best rubs out there, top 3 in my opinion 🤔
So glad you enjoy! Appreciate all the support.
I think that Comp Rub is legit. First time I used it was a success. 1st place ribs..Right beside that 1st place hog you cooked with it. Awesome rib you've smoked here.
Love to hear it! Thanks, brother
Hey if MoJo says it's the stuff then it has to be the gospel truth. Nothin like MoJo fixins. If ya don't believe me just ask me I'll set ya straight. Good job Heath and belated congratulations on Memphis in May.
@@davidmccartney1017 Appreciate it!
Very welcome Heath.
The king of ribs has spoken 🙏🏻🤘🏻
Appreciate that! 🤘
I second what MojoBurger said.
I see what you did there! Love your content and dry humor as well, sir.
🤣🤣
Looks amazing. The color of those ribs and the juicy tender slice …perfect.
Thanks!
Was visiting my sister in Dallas and she took me to Scheels Sporting Goods. They had the largest selection of BBQ rubs and sauces that I have seen in a retail store. Was impressed with this store.
Happy to hear it.
That new comp rub is ridiculously good. You got the perfect balance in there. Making my rib cooks easier once again without having to layer different rubs. 👊🏻
Love to hear it! Glad you're enjoying it, Chris
A DOUBLE head shake
It was good! 🤣
That comp rub is amazing!!!!
Thanks, Toby!
Done these style on my stick burner. Turns out great.
Awesome!
That color is amazing!!! Thanks Heath!!!! 🔥
Appreciate it! Thanks for watching
Thank you for your insite I'm about to start a food trailer with Ribs and chicken
Awesome! Best of luck to you.
Love me some dry ribs! Great membrane tip! Will give your Comp Rub a go! 🍖
Thanks! Hope you enjoy
The comp rub is AMAZING! Smoked a shoulder a few weeks back with it and it was awesome. Love all your seasonings Heath! I love how your seasonings are perfectly balanced and blended. Can’t be beat!!
Appreciate that! Thanks for watching and supporting our business
Glad to see your garlic jalapeño rub at Walmart beside Malcolm’s. Hoping to see more in the future.
Always enjoy a dry rub recipe video. IMHO, you don’t need much sauce (if any) when the dry rub recipe is done right. I made two dry rub racks a few months back for myself and two friends (using one of Malcom’s old videos that includes mopping them). They lasted 10 minutes.
I do love a dry rib myself. Sometimes you don't want something so sweet and want to change things up a bit. I'm hoping we can get a few more in Walmart myself!
@@HeathRilesBBQ how do you get your rubs in Academy & Walmart? Asking for Mr Harry.
It's a process
@@HeathRilesBBQ I already have a few of them in my pantry. Thank you for all you do.
Appreciate it, John! Thanks for watching and supporting
STOP MAKING DIFFERENT RUBS!!!! I own them all. 🤣🤣🤣My wife says I need my own pantry cause of all your products. We love what you do Heath, keep up the great work, we support you! LET'S GO BRANDON!!!😂
🤣 I hope she understands! Appreciate the support and watching
I had to buy a full sized fridge just for my rubs and sauces. Lol.
@@BBQFREAKSHOW Hey, it happens 🤣
@@HeathRilesBBQ it does indeed 😁
@@BBQFREAKSHOW the fridge is good to help stop the rubs from clumping once opened right? I mean I bought many but sadly they don't all store well. Not in garage anyway
Awesome as always Heath!
Appreciate it, Jason!
Love that sweet heat from the competition rub, first time I’ve been able to get it here in the UK!
It's so good!
Awesome!
Thanks!
Well executed ✔
Thank you!
Looked killer brother. I have to get some of that comp rub, and give it a go.
Thanks, Ron! Hope you do and enjoy it
Great video ! Trying this one today ! Looks like you’ve dropped some lb’s brotha lookin sharp !!!
Yeah I did thanks for the support!
Awesome!
Thanks!
Going on smome comp ribs this weekend...
Awesome! Have to let us know how they turn out
Adding another rub to my list to try. Dang this list is getting long. And I love a good dry rib too. Great looking racks Heath.
Thanks for the support!
For dusting I grind the rub in a coffee grinder for extra fine dusting
Good idea!
I know it's technically incorrect but I have found that the membrane doesn't matter. I score it and eat it. I kind of like how it holds the meat together
Hey, do it how you like it! Nothing wrong with that.
I see a trip to Grills of MS in my very near future to get that competition rub and a couple of other things I'm out of...garlic jalapeño too. I think I'm out of it.
Uh oh. Have to restock!
@@HeathRilesBBQ absolutely
Hey Heath: Great Job brother. Question: Can the very same method(Time/Temp) be used if you're using St. Louis sty;le ribs? Thanks for sharing!!!
Yeah, absolutely. You may just have to adjust time a little.
Hey Heath ... this is great, thanks for posting. If I wanted to duplicate this doing St. Louis style ribs, any thoughts on how that might impact the overall cooking time?
It'd about the same cook time
@@HeathRilesBBQ Thanks!
Hey heath can I get your rubs at Walmart or bass pro
Between those two choices, Walmart!
Heath you need to stop they look great and I know they were good!!!
Thanks, Mario!
I’ve been looking at buying the Timberline 1300 for the size. Is it a good grill and how many racks of ribs can you cook on the main grill grate?
I like it a lot. I do a lot of cooks on it. You could probably fit about 5-6, depending on the rib size, on the main grate, I believe.
I can't seem to find the prairie fresh prime baby backs around Southaven .any help on finding those??
I would check out their website and use the where to buy feature www.prairiefresh.com/where-to-buy-pork/
Thx..i found them at allstar bbq.. if anyone else looking for Prairie fresh prime ribs and butts they have in stock
Awesome!
Is this in stores yet around hernando or southaven??
It's in Malcom's Shop in Hernando
All i see at my walmart is killer hogs and Cosmo rubs as far as youtuber rubs.
Our Garlic Jalapeno and Garlic Butter Rubs are in Walmart
Someone help, I thought it was a 3 hour smoke but according to the video, he smokes for 4???
2 hours unwrapped and spritzed after an hour, 1 hour wrapped, and placed back on the grill after a light dust for about 20 minutes.
Any smoke flavor on that easy bake oven.
😂
Turned out pretty good to me
OP probably only has an EZ Bake oven. How cute.
Lol you probably don't even own a offset, fool. Pellets make amazing bbq. Low and slow is what their good at.... You probably have a Weber kettle and over smoke the sh** out of meat that you think tastes good but really just tastes like a ton of creosote and acrid smoke. Low and slow charcoal taste like crap compared to low and slow pellet smokers SON......
Nothing wrong with a Traeger, my man.
These are NOT Memphis dry ribs. Dry ribs are cooked DRY, with just kosher salt on them. THEN, once the ribs are cooked, the dry rub is shaken on them.
It's a Memphis style. Also, from the area and cooked several slabs this way.
All those brand names. Too much advertising!
Well, it is my own rub line that I use and these are things I cook with everyday. I don't promote or use things I don't like. Just trying to inform people that watch of brands that I use and trust when it comes to BBQ.
