Crazy how you don't actually see the winning shot. There's just a little break there and you don't see it. Weird? Not really I guess. But keep in mind that there isn't any footage of the Lakers actually winning the championship in '72 either. There's the iconic footage of Jerry West running off the court after the game 5 win against the Knicks, but the actual end of the game of Jerry West finally winning a championship is somehow lost. And then there's this. Its kinda freakin me out actually.
ABC had very little respect for the West Coast teams. Not Russell or Keith Jackson, but the guys in charge who make the decisions. I'm just grateful that they didn't erase the entire game..
Probably because he was a rival to Wilt (a Laker), but not 100% sure. I noticed Wilt wasn’t a starter for the west even though he went on to win the championship.
Because he was a dirty player who gave people cheap shots and sucker punched and elbow people and hit them when they were down on the court not a very nice person. He was not liked he was also standoffish and was into the black power and was a far-left extremist who loved Muslim ways. Wilt was a star player who was a veteran by then and was classy polite and never played dirty he was a conservative and got along with all races of people .He also never blamed whitey for any problems he had he was the type that thought you make your own luck and he took personal responsibility for his life. He also had white freinds unlike Jabbar who hated white people. Wilts white freinds were very smart and good business men who cared a lot about Wilt helping him with investments that made Wilt much wealthier than Jabbar who almost went broke in the 70s unlike Wilt who had a huge mansion with a pool running through his living room and the ceiling in his bedroom opened up to the night skies amazing house .He made more money from his investments than Kareem made playing basketball. Wilt never had to find a job.
@@rhjsvj No they were Booing he was hated with a passion in LA . Kareem was not a nice person through most of his NBA career not many liked him and for good reason unlike Wilt who most people had nothing but good things to say about him. Wilt would never intentional hurt other players. Kareem did it all the time and had no problem with it.
@@erics9754 Before today I wouldn’t believe you, but I found out Kareem is the all-time leader in fouls. Wilt is not even in the top 250 players for fouls committed, and he never got fouled out of a game which is amazing to me. Huge difference between the two players.
That Jerry West shot is historic! The First All star game to my knowledge that came down to a Game winning shot like that.
What a great All Star game a gemi loved this as as teenager in high school when I played.
Thank you for this gem of a video.
Too bad Bill Russell is retired here. Would've loved to see him wearing one of these Laker uniforms.
Gratitude
Thank God it was in color
Keith Jackson was the best. I could listen to him announce a chess match.

Why the fuck is it glitched

當時 不知 有沒有 24秒 進攻違例 但比數 似乎 也可 破百
Why is Kareem booed here in LA?
I think they were saying Lou.
