No need to apologize about the video. For me it clearly demonstrated what can happen at sunset & sunrise shoots. It can get really hectic & mad & the skies can suddenly kick off with amazing glory & only last 5 minutes. Time & time again that has happened to me. One thing I would like to point out here as so many people see the sun go below the horizon & pack up & go home. You should always give it anything up to 30 minutes after the sun disappears as the amazing skies ALWAYS come in that time. This also applies to sunrise. The best skies are always up to 30 minutes BEFORE sunrise time.
Hi Paul thanks for the words that really means a lot and it's great to see that this is so relatable to some. 👍🏻. Couldn't agree more with what you said about waiting until after the sunrise 🙏🏻
Absolutely stunning images. And the buzz you give off from your work is very welcomed. Just goes to show how the weather can answer to your feelings and change them in an instant. Richie
Like football photography can be a cruel mistress but that's what it's all about folks. These moments make it all worthwhile after a series of disappointments. I feel your passion Henry, great video.
No other landscape photographer I know is as enthusiastically and genuinely enjoying his work as you are. It's always a pleasure and a constant inspiration to watch your videos.
Beautiful images. And yes that sensor on 7200 is ace, 14+ stops of dynamic range @ iso 100. The first rule of landscape photography : Be There At The Right Moment.
Those moments when you think you have poor light and then all of a sudden you are treated to a tremendous feast of lights just make that trip out that little bit more special and memorable. Nice work Henry, the skies looked glorious in your images
I had the same feeling this morning about "Not feeling it". After having no sleep (To hot!) at 4:30 I grabbed my kit and off I went (With my daughter who grabbed her camera too). Thinking we would get a great sunrise we soon found a strip of cloud covered our shot! ... after a quick flask of tea (15 minutes later) we noticed the sun peaking behind the clouds giving a great orange glow. Its amazing how things turn out! Great Video again Henry! More cracking shots! keep inspiring and roll on next Video!!!
Thank you so much Stephen I appreciate your comments very much. That sounds like a great morning and yes you’re right it really is funny how things turn out sometimes! Thanks again mate, much appreciated :-)
Don't you just love when things come together?! What an amazing sky. Lovely images. By the way, no apologies needed about the video, you enthusiasm is a joy to watch and it keeps it real.
aw man,Henry, after the last video i thought you could not better the pictures, boy was i wrong, everyone was just beautiful, but mate, that last one was just perfection to me.to quote you Henry" top drawer" mate.thank you so much for sharing.
One just never knows what can happen out there. its about taking your pack and tripod out and going for it. Love all three shots, especially the last shot. The second shot was great as well, but I would not have cropped it so much on the left, All and all Henry, awesome photography and love to see your continued enthusiasm. Keep it up.
Henry, I enjoy your presentations. Shropshire looks to be a luscious green area. I didn’t know your weather changed so quickly. I thought that Sydney, Aus., was the country of changeable weather - four seasons in the one day! I’m impressed by your enthusiasm. Keep well in this Coronavirus era.
Hi Robert, thanks a lot for the comment mate and really glad you enjoy my content. Yes, this time of year it's very green here in Shropshire - and such changeable weather here but I love it! Thanks again for the comment mate and keep well too 👍🏻🙏🏻
Brilliant video Henry love the enthusiasm. Love the last photograph you took,in your own words it was mint. Look forward to your next adventure. Thanks Henry.
Fantastic. That's what you call passion. I live in Herefordshire and last night had the same colour lighting up the sky. Trouble is, I was at home and had nothing to photograph the sky against. It came from know where, although the sky to the east was pinks and blues.
Thanks Henry, enthusiasm as always. Love it keeps me fascinated. Very good video as always with useful commentary. The sky in those shots came out beautifully. Keep going.
Inspired images just shows you, your never going to get any good shots by sitting watching the tv, it’s Summer just get out there enjoy the evening and you never know what will unfold.
Hey Henry, amazing video, great content! And, I am with Paul Stone, no need to apologize, this is what we essentially want to see, learn, keep in mind. Looks like you trusted your gut and headed to that hill and got rewarded with the astonishing sunset! Stunning pictures, not one, but three from the same location! Like you say "This Is Class"! :) Keep on cracking, mate! ThumbsUp!
Great video. Brilliant how you get such great shots from unpromising conditions. By the way, the pile of rocks is called a cairn in Shroppy as well as in the lakes. Keep up the good work. 👍👍👍
This may be one of the best landscape photography videos I've seen - you enthusiasm for the unpredictable lighting is infectious! Makes me even more sad that I'm currently stuck in Boston!!
Love this video. Have found myself at times getting frustrated and then suddenly just get one shot which makes it worth it. 👍 Great shots in this by the way.
Thank you so much Sean, yes it sometimes seems to work in this way, I think this is one reason why I find landscape photography so exciting! Thanks again mate
@@HenryTurnerphoto No problem, love watching your videos, they are so inspiring! Im looking for some good landscape photography locations in the south east of England at the moment. Is there anywhere you would recommend?
I bought an M50 for video and a Nikon for landscape last year. Then I discovered this channel. Guess I am not the only one. :) Awesome video as usual...
So glad you captured that sky Henry. The way you was running around with excitement and panic was me running around my garden thinking why why why ain’t I up a mountain or down the coast. Lovely images dude 🙌🏼
Love the Shropshire hills. Check out the Stiperstones, it's the far side of the Long Mynd. Some great rock formations there and views west into Wales including Corndon hill
Great video 👌 I'm a completely new to the photography game. If you're talking your shots on full manual mode, how do you calculate the ISO, aperture and shutter speed?
Cool video. I did my first outside blog at long Meg other week. Ended up running around, forgetting to film, because the light happened and I had to get it before it went.
I've always wondered after you shoot with the last ray of light being on the top of a hill or mountain if you do not feel uncomfortable to descend alone in the dark. This sort of situations are the ones scaring me the most, in fact I tend to shoot sunsets (and sunrises) only on locations I can reach with a 10 minutes walk from the car....that said, amazing shots especially the second one. That sky, I've never seen anything like that.
Nice one, that last shot was great and reminded me of me running around like a loon trying to find a comp when it kicks off, keep up the good work mate.
Henry, firstly just wanted to say I have recently (last 3 weeks) bought my first ever DSLR (Nikon D7000) and am really enjoying learning how to use it. Which is how I found your amazing channel. I am located in Preston, so immediately warmed to your videos, being so close to where I live. I have probably watched 30-40 of your videos back to back over the last few days learning loads, so thank you. Anyway onto my question... you mention bracketing a lot in your videos, when the sky is a lot brighter than the foreground, but you don’t say by how much (0.3-0.7-1.0) ? Any advice would be great... off to Bassenthwaite next week, so hopefully put my new found skills (or lack of) to the test 👍
Hi there, thank you so much for the comment and really hope you’re enjoying your new camera! With regards to bracketing it’s very much individual and it depends on the scene and the photograph I am wanting to take. I always make sure that I’m not clipping my highlights or my shadows either way, I really hope that makes sense! Perhaps I should do a video on the topic ha ha
Henry Turner Thanks, I’ll look into that more, maybe make use of the histogram. I’ll no doubt look at booking a 1-2-1 with you at a later date (basic newbie beginner level), perhaps in the Silverdale area...
