That's not really the kind of sub MB uses. He's more focused on high power 8's because that's what he can fit in his truck.
A $550 12" shallow mount, 500w rms, pure SQ sub doesn't seem a good fit for the channel. It's probably a great sub, though. You'd be more likely to see that on Marks Car Audio Fabrication channel or a channel that focuses on pure SQ.
I'm contemplating sitting my sundown 12 to the side to go with two massive summo 8s.
lol I had 2 sa8….went with a single sundown U…an was twice as loud with the 12.
12 would be louder in that scenario

This is my opinion but damn that 8 inch frame is way way over used. What's wrong with the Auto Audio industry nowadays?! That's one reason why I Love Sundown, DD, JL, Fosgate, Morel, kicker, Soundqubed, db, Deafbonce, and Phoenix gold. They all have their own frame design.

When you say "over used" are you meaning that in a bad way?
Thats like saying an LS engine is over used because they are in so many vehicles. If its a good engine or good subwoofer frame, then I don't see it as a bad thing.

But cone area on the crossfire looks to be greater.
You can find out for sure by comparing their Sd. Even if one is a bit larger than the other, all other factors have to be the same to get that area advantage. Its rare that everything else is the same, so a small difference in cone area really doesn't mean anything.
