@@Producelikeapro - 😊 By the way, I was discussing the Peavey T-40 bass (as seen in this video's thumbnail) with a bunch of other bassists only days ago! 😀
1. Warren, that was FABULOUS! 2. Thank you for the multitracks!!!! I can't wait to use my 60ies plugins and techniques on that one! That'll be a feast! 3. Damn, the Beatles really were great songwriters.
Great cover Warren! I purchased the Volt 176 for voiceover work (when I’m not in my home studio) and absolutely love it. The analog compressor was a dealbreaker for me. And I particularly enjoy the fact that the Volt has one button per function. Build quality is sturdy and converter is top notch.
Great cover Warren. I ‘m sure the Beatles would approve. Everything, from vocals and guitar tracks to drums was spot on. It’s hard to cover the Fab Four but you pulled it off!
Your falsetto & guitar riff at the end added some flair too. It’s nice to make covers a bit different from the original but appreciate how you stayed true to the original while, at the same time making it your own.
Warren you're an artist of highest caliber. Help was my very first album. A young kid putting the two speakers on each side of my head listening to just this song. First impressions....
Warren, your voice is absolutely gorgeous. I know that you don’t consider yourself “a singer”, but you are actually the greatest kind of singer. Human, relatable, and such a beautiful tone. 3 days ago I entered a new phase of life, and that is anxiety attacks 🥵 and your cover of “A whiter shade of pale” has been on repeat for me these last 3 days and has helped me immensely. It’s fantastic. So thank you 😊 Is the audio available to stream or purchase anywhere? Thank you for all of the amazing tips and beautiful music.
Regarding your vocals on this Beatles tune: You did marvelously well! I really enjoyed it! Keep doing covers and keep singing and sharing with us. Thanks!
I just ordered a Volt 276 to record my bass playing as a practice, analysis, and correction tool and as a way to build a sort of notebook of ideas, bits and pieces, song ideas, etc. I'm very much looking forward to getting this piece of gear. So good for such a reasonable price. It ships out of UA in Santa Cruz tomorrow so I expect it'll be down here in L.A. by Friday; can hardly wait. I just found a great deal on an EV RE-20... I've got an '89 SVT-II in great shape with healthy GE 6550 tubes and great old Eden D410XT, a few basses, an Origin Effects BassRig SV pedal with DI and 810e cab sim, Cali 76CB, and DCXBass. I think I'll be able to figure out a way to record with a good sound with those and the Volt 276.
One of my all time favorite songs next to "Help". I'd love to see a breakdown of the harmonies of that song (Help). Love seeing you playing the Hofner.
Great job! The only thing that caught me out, was the drum fill at the end of the last verse. Ringo hits a single strike on the snare. Seems like such a little thing, but whenever I listen to Ticket to Ride, I always anticipate that single hit while playing “air drums” to the song!👍😉
I know lots of people have shared the same sentiment, but you don't give your singing voice enough credit! Those takes (and the video overall) are great!
Nice. I have a cheap Hofner and love it. I think they're under appreciated since they're so closely associated with early Beatles when they were not only mastered for vinyl but AM radio... which is quite flatulent when any bass is allowed to survive the mix. My Hofner (with LaBella flatwound strings) has surprising low end and great tone.
Ever so humble, Warren. You don't need to be shy about your voice, it sounds amazing in this song! The whole song sounds great. I like that bass too, eventhough it's rather subtle in the mix. IKMultimedia has an emulation of it in MODO BASS that I have used countless times. What to say? Great song, great performance! I enjoyed it and it made me watch the rest of the video.
Fantastic work, Warren! What fun to observe and listen to the puzzle being assembled. I think the singing was much better than you admit to and, the only thing I might (bravely) suggest is to put in a bit of smile -- which you can hear on the Macca original. Again, great work! It's entertaining as well as instructive.
I was seriously contemplating getting a 476p. I already have an Apollo 8x, which is great, but was wanting the freedom to record outside or while traveling. I also like the hassle-free idea of hitting a simple switch for compression or "vintage" mic preamp setting. I wear thumb and finger picks while playing guitar, so getting away from using a mouse appeals to me. Being used to Thunderbolt, I'm wondering if the latency in a USB unit like this will be a distraction.
Who knew that Ringo on drums was the actual genius of the band - people can sing like McCartney and Lennon, play like George Harrison but NO one - absolutely NO ONE can emulate Ringo's style without it sounding slightly off & just silly. great version! thank you for upload - pretty good vocals (if you didn't use autotune) - Reel ADT by waves would have been really effective as well in this. loved it as is though!
Wow this tune is such a good one. Brings me back to when me and my brother used to play it together when we were younger! I'm gonna mix this one with a smile on my face! Thanks Warren!
Very solid. One of my fav Beatles songs. I thought for sure there would a 12-string. Excellent job with the singing, playing, and especially the tambourine playing. Somewhere out there, Tracy Partridge is smiling.
No need to hide voice behind doubling. I don't often download song stems much these days but this one reeled me in. Stripped the doubling away where needed and poof - there it was! Or there you were! LOL. Thanks for doing this. I have a new earworm this week. Cheers.
I really enjoyed that. Breath of fresh air. Great song and fantastic performance, the singing was the best bit for me...........ha ha. Brilliant video. Goes to show that a performance is the most important thing in recording. Use the tools you have the best you can to capture a good performance and your more than half way there and don't worry about the gear so much. This little interface shows you that. Cheers

In what order did you record? Which instrument (s) first? . Did you use a click track? When you're by yourself or just two of you, it's difficult for me to get the first tracks down to start building the song.Bass and Drums first.....or a guitar and vocal scratch track first...Just wondering the best format to track when you have to play and sing almost everything. Been following you for a long. learned lots...even at my age. ( I remember watching the Beverly Hillbillies before they were re-runs)
In this instance I recorded the guitars first, then the bass then drums last. There’s no click, I tracked the first guitar part to the original track to keep the same feel
That little "Play on Words" quip about that "DamePenic" was a riot. I had not heard that before but I will remember it as it's a perfect play on words to describe how pretty much everyone feels about it at this time. (I'm still laughing & had to stop the video as I can't pay attention when I'm laughing this much.)

Thanks, you sound great. Excited to see how the vocals are processed. Please do consider doing more singing yourself. I enjoyed mixing your cover of nights in white satin.
Sounds great! Did you just start with the guitar first and what did you play along with to know how the arrangement goes and so forth or did you play along with the Beatles as a reference track? Also I don't recall seeing you use those Audeze headphones before or mention them.

Warren I keep saying stop putting yourself down as a singer! You have a great easy listening pop voice! You’re in tune… you’re already ahead of the game! 😁 nobody is a Lennon or McCartney, they’d only be a pale imitation if they tried. You did a great job on the song & your voice suited it. What features do you look for when purchasing a new interface? Share below.
Clipping meter is basic
MIDI input output
Multiple Outputs for different mixes would be awesome
128 physical XLR inputs ..... a musical miracle the song also works with a right-handed bass
Sound quality, easy to
use
