Verse = |: Am7 - Bm7(b5) - E7(#9) :| Chorus = |: Dm7 - E7 - Am7 :| The final 4 bars of the chorus are just repeated Dm7 - E7, but the second time around the voicings are in first inversion so the melodic line of the guitar keeps climbing. The solos are over the verse chords.
@@Iorworth_Falcon it wasn't something I was consciously thinking about when working on that part. I was trying to create a sort of 'shimmer' in that section so I pulled out the 12 string for some arpeggios, and then decided it needed to feel bigger, so I harmonized the arpeggios. I can definitely hear the comparison and it's possible there was a subconscious part of me that was tapping into that, but at the end of the day they're just triads.
I keep trying to get Stradomyre to do more animation because his style is amazing, but I can't push too hard. Making a 3 minute piece of music is WAY easier than doing a 3 minute animation (especially since he tends to do almost everything on his own). In any case, if you want to see more collaborations between us, perhaps contact him and politely request it ;) I'll take any excuse to work with the guy.
I saw the animation of Stradomyre very recently thanks to a YT recommendation, since I was also recommended the history of both the Newgrounds logo before, and in turn, the Tankmen series, since I grew up with Newgrounds back in my kid years, especially when Captain himself was Newgrounds' main header logo back in the early days. I admit I'm a little sad that I missed out on the funnyness of back then, since I was unaware he had a small series of his own. When I found a complete series put together, it's so hilarious! This song is addictively catchy, I still think of the sad ending of Stradomyre's animation, since the feeling of this song matched so well with the animation! So happy you did an extended version. I've been playing this a little too much, it's THAT good.

People saying this sounds like Gorillaz, and I agree the vocals sound like Damon Albarn, but I would compare the instrumentals a lot to I Monster (big compliment). Though, combined, it's a nice original song. Video format is also awesome, reminds me of Jack Conte's old VideoSongs. Make an album!
