i still have a 2009 toyota innova 1.5 g in indonesia (im in malaysia right now)
I have the third facelift of Innova. Bought in November 2015 and is still good as new
I underestimated the 1TR-FE of the Innova since the 2KD Diesel engine is more popular here in the 🇵🇭. But my recent trip to 🇲🇾last Sept.2022 changed my perspective. When I booked a grab from Petaling Jaya Selangor back to KL I rode an Innova and I was surprised that the 1TR was punchy and responsive❤ also it was just me and the driver in the car by that time. The Innova that I rode was an E variant

In Indonesia, g type is the mid spec of kijang Innova (Indonesia name) lineup.
moch.aryaduta 141203 plus,in Indonesia, even the highest spec also available in manual transmission too.. unlike in Malaysia,manual version only available in E trim or base spec
plus manual transmission is more way fun to drive😀
Denilson Dennis unfortunately in indonesia for the diesel manual, torque is reduced to 200nm while the automatic gets 260nm, affects acceleration, and thus better get the automatic :/

My dad owns a 2015 model if he just waited for a few more months he could have got the newer model for a cheaper price but he got the older one
well, in Indonesia this g type did'nt had audio controller and had a manual air conditioner controller

Why does the startup sounds like a diesel even though its a petrol car?
And the alarm sounds like a toyota hilux.
Also,please do a review of a toyota vellfire 2013.Cuz thats my car lol.
The engine has a fixed radiator fan and the clutch of the fan will be disengaged when starting up. The fan will run in a free wheeling speed (hence it's just startup not revving and the radiator is not that hot) which is where you hear the sorta "fan roar" like a diesel engine. If the engine revs are getting faster,the fan clutch will engage and eventually letting the fan to run with the engine speed (that's where you starting to hear the engine sound instead of the fan roar from the initial startup) to cool down the radiator. One interesting thing about these fixed clutch fan is that they're always running and overheating will not be as possible as common on an electrical radiator fan. But one con about these fixed fan is that they require the engine's power to run the fan itself causing a few horse power to lose just only on the fan and the clutching mechanism.
Well abit of correction here,the fan clutch is ENGAGED upon driving with a half or abit of throttle is where you hear the fan noise,but upon full throttle the fan clutch disengages to allow more power to the engine whilist cutting off the power to the fan which causes the fan to free wheel at the speed ratio of 1:5 for example through the water pump pulley.

sadly to be said, there's no diesel engine options for Innova in Malaysia, as in Indonesia ,this Innova is also available with petrol and diesel engine
Denilson Dennis Well,he had posted a intial startup video of a 2nd generation Innova diesel from Thailand that's about to be uploaded onto RUclips somedays i guess.
So that why, I tell father that Innova have two varient which is petrol and diesel but he tell me that Innova in Malaysia only have petrol version.

To be fair, the Innova first came out more than 10 years ago, when stuff like integrated keys weren't that widespread yet, so even though it's a 2013 car, I guess it still has some tech from when it was first launched.
