I can't believe I'm nearly 50 and been listening to Tool for over 30 years. Seems like only yesterday I went to my mates flat and he had a he was all excited to put on this new album he'd picked up called Undertow by some random band.
I'm seeing them for the 1st time in October too. I had an opportunity to see them headline Coachella in 2006. But that would've meant I wouldn't be able to take my uncle with me because I didn't have enough money to buy both tickets. So I decided not to go. Now they'll be in my hometown again
I saw them at Lollapalooza in the 90’s. Devo was also on the tour. I remember telling my girlfriend now my wife. Hands down Tool and Devo are who I will remember from this festival down the road. Glad to see them still killing it live!
@@societyearth6562 yup. It’s in Maynard’s book. Not sure if that’s his real name, but that’s what Maynard said. Could be a protection from the public, like Bowie did with Duncan aka Zoe Bowie.
They performed two times in Italy. First in 2006 and I can't went to the concert but in 2019 I did all I can and I did it! It was at "Firenze Rocks", they were in good company with Smashing Pumpkins and Dream Theatre the same night. I loved them live and will never forget that night
I ended up getting a ticket for later this year. Normally i rent a hotel for the night when i got to venue im seeing them at. However the nearby hotels have all jacked up their rates for that night due to demand. Are they really worth $300+ and a ton of driving?
@@BriansConcertVideos Im in the lower reserved seats on the right side looking out from the stage. And every reserved seat is good at the venue. Plus they offer "free" valet parking.
Off day… what are YOU high!? Dude chokes on his spit for 2 seconds (he’s human) and you throw the baby out with the bath water. Singing in that range and with grit while touring with other bands is no easy task, yet he’s crushing it for a live performance at the age of 50. Ps- most vocal days are “off days” it’s the “on days” that are rare. Now you know.
5:19 is such an awesome part for the drums. joe baressi didn't do a good job of capturing how cool that moment is for the album recording. he really is a horrible producer. i couldn't stand this song for years until i saw them live for the first time october of 2019 and now i absolutely love it. joe baressi really has no idea what he's doing, but now people take him seriously because he produced 10k days by tool and it made him this guy to seek out .
@@caseynewton827 im not david botrill. im a doordash driver. i will say that i really do not enjoy the production with the sonics on the recordings of third eye and pushit on the studio recordings of aenima, the live recording of third eye on salival more than makes up for it. the sonics on third eye and pushit aren't good but overall david botrill did a way better job with the sonic landscape of tool than joe baresi by a long shot. having adam play orange amps and rivera amps should result in criminal charges when adam's rig is the marshall, the diezel vh4 silver face, and the diezel vh4 blue face. all that guy has to do is put microphones in front of the cabinet but acts like he can't do it for some strange magical reason. i can't stand how he's constantly screwing with adam's tone.
It’s because the entire song was tuned down to Drop C so Maynard could still sing it. Justin and Adam both switch out to dedicated drop C tuned instruments 🤘
Everything is temporary. Sad I missed out on them when they were young, but I've seen them four times since the release of Fear Inoculum with tickets for two more shows in November. They're still the best band I've seen live.
Got mixed feelings about this performance. Band of course is always on point, but I don’t know vocals was a bit eh definitely was off more times then should’ve been. Sucks to say. Still a genius song though. Danny Carey is not human btw.
I guess the down tuning doesn't bother you guys. I know why they do it....Maynard can't hack the original key. but I'd rather they drop this tune and play one they can swing as recorded. This sounds so fucking sludgy.
@@mapavlikify that's cool. I respect the opinions of others.....i suppose i studio version is so engrained in my mind that I can't get past the key change. it's jarring to me.

I can't believe Maynard is almost 60 years old. It feels so damn weird, I've been listening to them since I was a teenager.
He’s healthy as a horse, you know his work-out schedule? He’s 60 but could be 40
Trust me. Those of us who ARE 60 years old, cant believe that WE are, either.
hes still hot af

3:38 LOOK AT THAT. I love how he still screams to these days. TOOL is my favorite band.
Me too. But I don’t get why he’s so lazy at 6:51
@darienlux4735 That's the most difficult part of the song to sing and. He has to save his voice for the rest of the show.
When it picks back up at 5:58 .. will never get old
@@darienlux4735 hes fucking 60 buddy... its been about 20 yes since they debuted the song itself. Age catches everyone eventually

Thank for sharing this!! It's super clear & Tool sound Excellent!!🔥🤘 Spiral out, keep going.. 🌀🕊 ❤
Just got my tix for Oct 15 in Spokane - can’t wait. Always been a fan, first time I’m going to see them live.

Amazing upload brotha! Thank you for your hard work! 🙌💯. Been watching these guys since the 90's. They never disappoint
This was excellent !Thank you for posting !
Awesome closeup and sincere thank you for uploading! However, man, when Justin plays solo record him not everyone but Justin :D
Haha, sorry! I was STRUGGLING by this point. I got pulled out of the pit two songs later due to almost passing out because of severe cramping 🙃
This is exactly what professional videographers do to every band 😂
I was at sonic temple for the second day, it was a blast! Shame i missed tool tho
so are we not gonna talk about the fact that M has a spotlight on him for the first time in 30 years or...
So good to see, I never thought I would see that again
The best to ever do it. 30+ years of hit after hit but they don’t need to be full of drama in the headlines and pushed in the news like todays 🤮 bands

Funny MJK is dressed like Billy D from Puscifer (yeah, yeah- I know they’re both Maynard).
Looking forward to Oct’s show!

Thanks!
I wanted to hear this song so bad last night in El Paso Tx. Other than that they put on a badass show
Yeah, I saw them in OKC the other day and wasn't super impressed with the setlist, but they sounded phenomenal
Whoa! Excellent footage!
maynard is rippin, well shot!
Maynard looking CLEAN
Like fine wine. Nothing better

I think Maynard sounds great here, even though they're clearly down tuned from the original recording!
