I cannot understand why people keep calling Oden a bust. In my opinion he would be called one of biggest what if. Because, let's be honest, Greg 1st pick was absolutely legit because everyone predicted he would be the next big thing. And everyone knew the valute of KD too!
Oden was extremely unlucky with his health but he was very good. And in the games he played as a Blazer he showed he could play at an high level. But then his body collapsed.

If there was one benefit Anthony Bennett got from being drafted first, that would be that it allowed him to stay in the league longer than what was expected from a bust his level. He himself stated that being drafted #1 helped him to stay in the NBA and at least opened more opportunities for him, or else he would essentially be a goner in like 2-3 years.

I get it. But it’s a bit unfair to put Bowie and Oden with the rest of these guys. Both were outstanding big men with a lot of talent and potential. But had careers ruined by injuries.
Bowie gets more flak cause he was picked before MJ, but Bowie at the time (they loved dominant bigs back then) looked like the real deal. And he was. Just had bad wheels.
Maybe put the injury busts at the bottom of the list? They are worth mentioning
