I always thought this was Marty Robbins singing this song... oops!! What an exceptional talent Bobby and Laurie were .... had no idea they were Australian ... definitely, definitely underrated.
One of my great memories, January '65, Bobby and Luarie supporting The Kinks/Manfred Mann/ Honeycombs Tour, backed by Tony Worsley's Blue Jays, and how The Sydney Stadium was virtually jumping to everyone footstomping to "I Belong With You'!
They were great,,,and a great time the 50s and 60s...just a great time....Vale Laurie...I saw him a few days before he passed away ..I wanted to speak to him but glad I didn't I heard later his father had just passed away...then I hear he had passed away also...sadly missed...they were great times...
BOBBY BRIGHT AND LAURIE ALLEN....WAY AHEAD OF THEIR TIME... THE BEST vocalists to EVER come out of Australia.... WHY ARE THEY NOT RECOGNIZED ??? Amazing Stage presentation and song writing talent...AND...I was there when it all happened.... Vale Laurie..LONG LIVE THEIR MUSIC. Susie G. (Melbourne)
Great Aussie talent. This would have to be one of the all time great love songs. I've got their Greatest Hits album- gotta say it "Cops a flogging!". Timeless music- still sounds as good now as it did then.
I remember they were the first men I ever met who had long hair like the Beatles. They used to play at De Marco's Hotel in Essendon, Melbourne on a Saturday afternoon back in 1965 (pubs used to close at 6pm then). Their harmonies were great. I was 7 years old and I think they were a bit bemused when I approached them for their autographs, which I've still got. I was over the moon when they became a regular part of the children's TV show The Magic Circle Club.
@@jillsommerville7828 Thanks for bringing back that back to my memory. Need some happy thoughts after losing my Assistance Dog yesterday due to age. RIP Brayden.
@@chriscoghlan692 hi Chris so sorry for your loss of Brayden💙it breaks our hearts when they pass, just remember the good times🙋, the circle club with happy Hammond? Cheers
Always thought these guys were a class act...excellent harmonies and lead singer Bobby Bright has a superb , rich toned voice...a very underrated singer he is...
Love it every bit as much today as I did in the very early seventies when they recorded it. Has anyone out there got them singing "First Street Blues" a Lee Hazelwood composition?
@AramaHahore Who needs Wayne Newton, when we have these Aussie Icons. Sorry no offence intended. These guys are real Aussie Troupers. Clean cut and with great voices. Not like the shit you get today.
Oh how great they were, ...never forget ,there is a place in history.... for everyone... thanks for making this song , so close to home
i met bobby in coff`s harbor in 1986 ! nice guy had a chat and thanked him !
