1.Who wants to be lonely 2.Any way you slice it 3.Tears are falling 4.Uh! all night 5.King of the mountain 6.I'm alive 7.Radar for love 8.Secretly cruel 9.Love's a deadly weapon 10.Trial by fire
This album holds a special place in my heart....first of all, my brother got me this album for Christmas that year. Second, he also took me to see THE HOTTEST BAND IN THE WORLD, in concert for my first time on this tour!! A night I'll never forget and one I'll never be able to thank my brother enough for!! I'd been a member of the KISS ARMY since 1976, but it took 10 years for me to finally see them in concert. 🤟😝
Sophomore year in high school I wore this cassette OUT! It far surpassed Anamalize (Gene really showed up for this one) and at the time I liked it more than Lick it Up. This is tough because I don’t hate any. Here’s my ranking: 10. Trial by Fire; 9. Radar for Love; 8. Tears are Falling; 7. Who Wants to be Lonely; 6. Secretly Cruel (got that Mr Speed riff); 5. Uh.. All Night; 4. King of the Mountain; 3. I’m Alive; 2. Any Way You Slice It; and one one the most metal Kiss songs at #1, Love’s a Deadly Weapon
I remember an interview with Larry Mazer their former manager telling Gene specifically that he wasn’t the demon anymore and sticking his tongue wasn’t working it is true on that Revenge album and tour you never saw him doing it again (Three Sides Of The Coin)
Great Album my favourite KISS songs from Asylum are 1.King of the Mountain. 2. Love is a deadly weapon. 3.I'm Alive. 4.Secretly Cruel. 5. Uh! all night. 6. Any Way you slice it. 7.Tears are Falling. 8.Who Wants to be lonely. 9.Radar for love. 10.Trial by Fire. great guitar debut from Bruce Kullick
King of the Mountain is a great opener. 1st time I heard it was getting offa work in Midtown Manhattan. Went out the front door, pressed play on the walkman, and headed down 5th Ave in the river of people. Exciting. And it's an exciting song that lent itself well to that moment. It passed the taste test, Ralph. haha Schmackamagob!
Asylum is VERY high on my ranking of Kiss' studio albums! Like with several of the group's other studio efforts, it has definitely improved with each listen for me! The record is extremely consistent, no doubt! Not one track on Asylum disappoints me! Uh! All Night would be my least favorite of the ten if I had to choose though. Believe it or not, I dig the album artwork with a passion too! 🙂
'85 the year traditional heavy metal died as foretold by Judas Leasts'' turbo and Miron Aidens somewhere in time 😂😂 Also the year proto death metal started !!! And king diamond left mercyful fate 🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟 Stay heavy !!! Listen to the ONTM and the RMCP !!!! Your mom does !! 🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟 Stay heavy
Great album! Most talented KISS lineup! Very disappointed from my first kiss concert though on this tour. Gene Simmons was wearing a red gown. That’s all I remember. Disturbing.
On genes tongue during revenge, i have this memory if Bruce betting him that he couldn't keep it in his face for the whole tour. Might be on one of those early 90's VHS releases.
I've always judged Kiss albums, especially the 80's albums, on the quality of Gene's songs. His material on Asylum doesn't impress me at all. Trial By Fire is my favorite song of his but that's a pretty low bar. This is my second least favorite Kiss album from 1982-92, only better than HITS but it's still okay. I don't hate it. 10. Radar For Love 9.Any Way You Slice It 8. Love's a Deadly Weapon 7. Uh All Night 6. Secretly Cruel 5. I'm Alive 4. Trial By Fire 3. Tears Are Falling 2. Who Wants To Be Lonely 1. King of the Mountain
Who Wants to be Lonely is the best song on the album. Maybe one day you'll come around on it. I'm Alive, Love's a Deadly Weapon, Tears Are Falling, and Uh! All Night are my other favorites. The outfits are horrible (especially Gene's), but I like the album cover for some reason.
Thanks Ralph!🤘 first record I ever bought with my own money. 2nd or third grade.i miss Eric Carr. Edit: you just seriously messed with my brain when you said there are no Revenge Era tongue photos..I'm not saying you're wrong, just swore I'd seen it 😂
I hated when Asylum came out. But later I listen to it and then and still now it's my favorite unmaske albums. The album is great but oufff their looks was BAD. Now I like the album because I found after changing their looks they finally changed the music. I found its sound deferent ( in a good way).that's the only good Kiss album from the 80's.for me
Not a fan. This was the last studio album I bought except Psycho Circus which I thought Ace and Peter actually played on at the time. I saw the show and it was musically good and I loved the old stuff, but those costumes were god awful. If I'd plugged my ears I would have thought I was at a Poison concert. Watching Paul making out with himself in that costume was the subject of nightmares for years to come.
I enjoyed that album a lot. Who wants to be lonely is good.
I got KISS 1985 album Asylum on cassette tape. 😀👍🎸🤘
Me too. It was my first KISS album. I discovered them via Animalize Live that was aired on MTV earlier that year and I was hooked!
@@jasongarrow6498 awesome man.😀👍🎸🤘
I had the album. That was the last Kiss album I ever bought. I really liked the music before Asylum. 🤘
Asylum is the first KISS album I bought with my own money in 1985, when I was 12.. Bought it on cassette, I still love and listen to this today
On cassette?
Also my second favorite non makeup behind Lick It Up

Trial By Fire is one of my faves on this album. I guess I'm the only one. Bruce's band killed it on the Kiss Kruise!
Good album. I like all the songs. All their hits on this album I enjoy as well. I have fond memories from this era of the band.
Basically after "Love Gun" Kiss albums are solo work done by main Kiss members and placed on an album with the band name Kiss.
The way you say Jeans name cracks me up every time😂😂

Asylum was the last KISS album i ever bought. I loved everything before Asylum. All my KISS music was on record. 🤘 The good old days.

I say to each there own, this is not Kiss, I like the old Kiss, the Original line 4.
Well I agree. I like several albums that came out after the original four. But none as good as the 70's stuff.

Their outfits were a bit goofy
No that’s typical for 80s
That’s what people don’t get
I felt the same about the Revenge album until i recently got it on vinyl. For whatever reason vinyl makes it sound decent
It is impossible to not like a Kiss Album! This one is a favorite of mine!

Asylum off the chain it’s a great album
I might still consider this a makeup album! just look at some of these photos lol!

Yeah man. Try looking for it. I never seen it.
This was the last good album of the '80's. After Revenge, Kiss was done making good albums.
I listened to this album Sunday I think it's up there with lick it up
They looked ridiculous...but the album had some good tunes on it!
I can’t put on dish-washing gloves without thinking of the Tears video
id agree best 2 albums without makeup is lick it up asylum.throw in animalize for 3.
I hated when Asylum came out. But later I listen to it and then and still now it's my favorite unmaske albums. The album is great but oufff their looks was BAD.

KISS did go cheesy in the 80's. Yet, whatever ailed KISS, Peter and Ace were not capable of making things better, musically or professionally.
I'd totally given up on them by this point.
I was still on board with Asylum, but Crazy Nights was the end for me.
THAT WAS A KICK AS TOUR! GOOD ALBUM, BUT THE ALBUM COVER IS FUKKKKKKKIN CRINNNG!
you tube really is becoming a sh!t show.
