This works great. The only thing I changed was I used a square bucket which allowed the elbows to fit flush and I put three elbows on it. Thanks for sharing.

We’ve used the five gallon bucket and watering nipples for our chickens and turkeys for s few years now and the work great. We will have to try a grain feeder like yours. I’m sure it will last many seasons.

have a few questions, 1. do you cap the food at night? 2. do the chickens jump on top of buckets, if so how often do you have to clean em? 3. can they still spill any of the food? 4. do you think if the bucket was hanging, it'd work just as well as on a block?

Of all the chicken feeders I’ve seen, I think this one is the best. Super easy. I’m going to get a square bucket, though and use elbows that I don’t have to cut. How close to the inside bottom of the bucket do you place the elbow?

I trap the mice with regular traps using some preferred foods like peanut butter. No poison for many reasons. Also, I keep the base of the feeder at about chest of chicken height. Finally, I train several chickens as TMIs. Tactical Mouse Interceptors. They are also trained in counter intelligence interrogation methodologies.
