As of April 2023 , 30 people have drowned here. Some people have been swept out to sea, no body recovered. Then there are the injuries that can ruin your vacation or your life. But people are going to do what they do.
To me it doesnt look like you have to be a good swimmer to jump into this pool this is risking your own life we all live once and we die forever to be so stupid and do this !
I've been to this spot a dozen times, and even in the relatively calm summer months, even a great swimmer can put him/herself in danger. There are almost always rogue waves that come in sets, and can quickly make that calm looking pool into your worst nightmare. Our neighbor across the street rented her house to a Japanese couple who wandered down there to take pictures in December (not ever recommended in winter as the surf is brutal)... both were swept out to sea, the woman was picked up by a helicopter, the man was never found. He was #26 I believe.
To say it's safe here for anyone who knows how to swim doesn't know the area and is a bit irresponsible IMO. I've swum the pools and the spot several hundred yards west where a natural channel provides an opportunity for mature sea turtles to move in and gorge themselves on the underwater greenery. Swimming with them was an amazing experience. That being said, this was in August (weaker waves compared to winter), I was in great shape, a powerful swimmer (swam competitively), sported knee pads and power flippers and I still consider myself not the smartest person for giving it a shot. I wasn't in more than 5 minutes and that was absolutely enough as I was jostled around quite a bit. Respect the power of the ocean. Make a mistake and get swept out from here, and you can call your life's end. Our neighbor up from the bath rented their house to a couple who ventured down in late December to take some selfies with their back to the ocean. A rogue wave caught them and dragged them out past the shoreline. Even though the authorities were called immediately, only the woman was found alive. Thirty people have drowned here since they started summing them up; he was # 25 (est.).
Respect the ocean, definitely. They even have an oath and part of it is, never show your back to the ocean. I have seen the brute force of the waves on Hawaiian islands on a recent visit.
Merci , quel plaisir de voius voir avec tant de joie de vivre à Porto Rico.le vidéo est super bien matcher avec la musique et le paysage sublime. Félicitation et merci.
Did these kids make it? The video appears to show they didn't, but it also cut after the one boy was still above. Either way it's very sad that people don't know the power of mother nature!
Some people are looking for an early death. They were warned and they still went. I hope no life guard would jeopardize their own life to help people who have no use for being alive and healthy. I feel sorry for their family.
Ovisly none off u know what Tangaroa is capable ov he will take your lives in seconds real talk so doing that is risking your lives that you only have one off then your family's broken u can be the best swimmer an the God ov the sea TANGAROA will take you realtalk 👍💯✊
All I think about when i see this is ..undertow... Hitting head against rock .. very sad family ... I'm not a swimmer but It looks like they might know what they are doing, but to me it looks really scary and it only takes one bad wave and one mess up to hit your head on the rocks Be safe guys swimming in that water....
And what's the warning, "heed the danger at Queens skull rock or yours matey will be a fate like the other four scallywags who met with Poseidon himself. Arggghhhh!
Has the government or anyone ever thought of bringing some life jackets or even a floatation ring...hell, a pool noodle might have saved someone from drowning .Local Hawaiians don't care if a Haole or mainlander drown ...30 people drowned since 2023 geez..

Just looks like local kids playing in Queens Bath. Tourist usually mistake the first crack, that leads to open ocean, as queens bath.
Not everyone realizes just how hard those waves could slam them against the rocks if they end up in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Is there a shortage of swimming pools.? That shit is crazy
It's all fun and games until somebody emerges without their swim wear
my cousin got hit by a wave that made him hit a rock then being swept away unconciously.
It's good to know he didn't die. That he only got swept out to sea unconsciously.
I don’t think he said he didn’t die.. that sounds pretty dead to me
Sorry for your loss!
These are local kids they were born in this stuff
Yess bruh
it's only fun until something happens
Where's the danger? All I saw were a bunch of kids having fun.

Is it a sport to take the hardest way out of the water there ? There's no wave action at the other end of the lagoon.
It's fun until you are swept out to sea.
its crazy playing with our own life .
An average of one person dies here every year.
where's that statistic from?
Did you know that 100% of swimmers die?
The average human dies once in their lifetime
Ikr. This place has a lot of bad energy due to the amount of people that find torturous death here every year and this waters are somehow cursed.
Compared to how many die each year in traffic accidents????
Let the kids have fun, they know the risks.

It's not even a hike, you park and walk down about a 8th of a mile fairly steep hill, just don't wear flip flops and it can be slippery.
