Wanna see the new tank I got from Custom Aquariums? Huge Aquarium Ready For Fish!! Custom Aquarium Set Up And Start Up! ruclips.net/video/9Yr9DNIub6Q/видео.html
its not actually that common to encounter a company whose employees are so happy that they are able to be genuinely nice and pleasant to others, each other, customers. Great to hear that.
I didn't expect to see the actual construction being done by hand. I thought for sure they would have some really complicated machinery to put them all together perfectly in very little time.
I don't build aquariums but I apply gallons of sealants. The bonding silicone wastage can be minimized by profiling the tip of the tube and forcing the sealant to preform. On a project that involved stone assembled in the same manner we saved hundreds in materials but did not increase labor hours. This could save tens thousands a year for them.
Its expensive because it is s company that is trying to prosper. I am totally that guy that buys the dollar per gallon sales but i think the idea for these tanks is trying to set a bar.
@@waffler69 they're high end tanks for sure. But to imply that the thing that's stopping people from buying is the ordering process is a little ridiculous. I love KGT but he should think of a new way to pitch this company
@@waffler69 High end tanks? They waste a lot of silicone. The silicone is a big mess. In Europe you can buy a tank from higher quality for less than half the price.
This video is just amazing. I’m in awe. Thank you for supporting this company and showing us this video. Many thanks to this company and it’s amazing employees 💕🤩👍🌟
I’ve been waiting for this one too! How it’s made is still on my top 10 fav shows. Anyways it’s good to see an American company thriving and providing meaningful employment and products. I’ll strongly consider reaching out to you for my next tank.
Awsome place my job is a glass processing I work on glass furnace them cutting tables bottero are great they have air floating glass on it for easy moving and breaking out thanks for Video 👍👍👍
Wow this looks amazing I was astonished of how they made these huge tanks I was always wondering how these large tanks are made and also how the ones that has other shapes than the rectangular one that we know are made, but now I know. I used to create my aquarium tanks from scratch from cutting the glass to gluing them and creating the cover all by myself but those were medium sized and small ones, never dared to try a large one honestly. So thank you a lot for showing us how it's made, appreciate it a lot. Greetings from Egypt
You’ve definitely been affiliated with custom aquariums for awhile lol and I’ve been here watching you grow before then, the quality of your videos and dedication to the hobby has blossomed into something awesome and “that’s a beautiful thing” 😉
Awesome vid, thanks for sharing the tour. Those angled pieces of lumber on the top are brilliant. I've seen shippers do damage to so many things, even if labeled to not stack anything on top. A 2x4 piece of lumber is CHEAP insurance that your product gets shipped properly.
Hi! I Just wanted to say thank you for making these videos, you've helped me alot during my new journey of keeping fish, I'm currently cycling my tank for South American Cichlid and I couldn't of done it without your channel dude.
I worked at a sliding door factory for a while and they had racks of glass lined up for a load of doors... unfortunately whoever built the load didn't balance the sizes well so there was a lot of very large doors on the load and when the glass layer moved a piece the cart got back heavy and tipped, broke probably 6-8 pieces of glass and everyone in the shop heard it. no fault to her but man it was a mess, thankfully she didn't get hurt. just thought of it when you were talking about the broken panel.
Great video. Thanks for doing this. Really fascinating seeing the step by step processes. Almost as fascinating as wondering how the heck anyone could give this a thumbs down. Dummies!
My dream tank is a 8 or 10 foot 300-500 gallons for my large haps if I ever get the space and a basement fish room this is where I am going to go for it. Thanks for the tour John
I love video like this !! It’s like watching how it’s made on science channel.. I know how they do it with acrylic from the show atm but never seen it in glass awesome man
when we made the pizza displays, we had a clear 32nd or 16th spacer, some never got glued others wanted one-piece displays but the rubber spacers were mandatory for glass above 4ft in public spaces, that was untempered.
Dream tank.. someday it "Will" happen. Did you happen to see the aluminum stands they offer? Not as fancy as the wood stands, but nice enough to display ones tank.
Great video! What a difference quality makes. A challenge for you: Try dropping the word “actually”. My Dad did this with me when I was school age. As a result, I’m still a grammar nerd at age 68😎
I was a glazier for 13 years, I have been wanting to build my own custom 3/4 sapphire glass 500-gallon aquarium, glass alone would run me 1k completed (that's cut, drilled and tempered) then I have to find a way to build a frame so she can stand as an island.
I would bet there are MANY potential customers who don't care about a back glass, ends or bottom glass...just the largest front viewing glass on a giant aquarium. My point being...lets say a 10' long x 4' tall glass ( or acrylic) attached to a heavy duty plastic or fiberglass tank..with the appropriate bracing.. IF,that slashed the price of a custom tank..and of course durable enough for a lifetime as all giant tanks need to be. Just wondering if that was possible?
Great video, however, you didn't explain what to look for in an aquarium. You didn't explain the different kinds of joints manufacturers use. Glass vs. acrylic? What are the key things to look for when purchasing a quality aquarium?
I was expecting more of a "jig" than what they were doing to ensure everything is square. And they used hand operate device to get the silicon out. I also would think they would use a battery operated one to make sure there is an even thickness. But if it works, interesting.
Grate show but I don't like black silicone, 😕 my 200 litre came with black silicone and it leaked so I had it rebuild and it came back with clear silicone a much nicer job if you ask me
The tanks seem really nice and well built, but the prices are just unreasonable. A tank matching the dimensions of a simple 20g long from aqueon could easily cost over $600 from them. They are probably worth it for very large tanks, or tanks of non-stand dimensions, and if you have a ton of money to spend on a tank (which i would imagine most people dont have $600 to spend on a 20 gallon tank, not that their bigger tanks are any better though, with a 220ish coming out to around $3,000 using the tank builder on their website, and this is ONLY for the tank with non tempered glass, no stand, no canopy, no lids or anything, JUST the tank itself.), but other than that it just is not worth the price.

Sure thing

Watching the silicone being applied was oddly satisfying. Really cool stuff.
She was incredibly well paced across huge sections. I've had to reseal a few tanks before and that is a skill and a half she has.
I didn't expect to see the actual construction being done by hand. I thought for sure they would have some really complicated machinery to put them all together perfectly in very little time.

It's not the ordering process that scares me, it's the price tag
they know damn well that tanks are TOO DAMN EXPENSIVE!
Its expensive because it is s company that is trying to prosper. I am totally that guy that buys the dollar per gallon sales but i think the idea for these tanks is trying to set a bar.

Amen. High end tanks for sure but $$$ ouch, as I had considered having one built. So I'm have it on my to do list.
@@waffler69 High end tanks? They waste a lot of silicone. The silicone is a big mess. In Europe you can buy a tank from higher quality for less than half the price.
Its crazy how strong silicone is. To be able to hold together all the weight of the glass and the weight of the water at the same time.

Been waiting for this one - good work 👍Fascinating how much technique is involved in the craft of custom aquarium making.

It's fascinating to see how folks build such a technically precise aquarium. Nice tour.
👍💕👍
Love this place. I go on their site all the time and configure a tank 😍 Also her pink shirt. "Eldora Speedway" 😍

It’s kind of like an air hockey table.

Gorgeous tanks. Sadly, I have to go Plexiglas now to be able to lift them. Great video John. Thanks.
It's so weird to hear John talk slowly and reading from the script😄.
Very interesting John
A blower. Like a giant air hockey table
Very good. Would have liked to see the frame being fitted to the tank
Now this is a great video to watch for sure 💪

This is aweosme!!!!
How do the monster size tanks get into someone's home where they are too big to go through the front doors of the home?
I would like a bigger tank. Can only imagine the price tag on one of them.
Awesome!
The birthplace of the 400g

How come acrylic tanks cost sooooo much more than glass ??
Was that a Ted Judy sighting? Maybe his twin i forget which place he's associated with
Ted's Fish Room? Yea that's him
Why do some tanks get holes drilled in them?
For the sump filters.
Aqueon needs to take notes.
i have to reseal one of my tanks, i the black silicones
