I used to think opossums were ugly but after learning about them I think they are awesome animals. Amazing how they’re the only native marsupial in North America
My god dude some things are just better off not being said. I'm glad I'll never know what it's like to be as disgustingly subhuman as the likes of somebody like you.
What I dont think a lot of people know is Opossums are very big omnivores: they dont often hunt, if at all, but they'll eat *_anything_* they come across: fruit, nuts, berries, bugs and grubs, roots, trash, carrion, nothing is off the table for these things.
@@MaikeruT Hmm, I didn't know that. I thought Opossums were the catfish of land, eat anything, the stinkier the better. I saw one once, with it's head nearly buried in a dead cow's ass. He didn't let a little stale cow shit stop him from his smorgasbord.
...and poses for a selfie, lol. Those possom's sure are opportunists. He didn't leave Chris much for dinner ;) The narration on these vids is like a good old boy comic book. Great stuff as always!
Chris......that was great! Possums sure are strange looking critters. We had 'em when we lived in Oregon. I caught a few in traps, but always managed to let them go....mostly missing a few toes I'm afraid. In High School, a friend and I thought of the perfect senior prank. We went out one night and caught three possums alive and put them in a gunny sack. Next day, we put them in a gym bag and took them into the lunch room where we unzipped the bag, left it under a table, and moved off to watch the fun.....sadly, the principle saw us do it! He walked over before the possums could come out and play, peeked inside, and zipped it up! We got called to the office and chewed out something terrible, threated with being expelled and a slow and painful death if we ever did anything like that again, and all that sort of stuff. On the way out the door, the principle said "Damn it you guys.....why did you let me see this? That would have been great!! But don't do this kind of shit any more!" Ha! He was really a pretty good guy.
Surprisingly strong jaws on that possum. They aren't aggressive and not known to bite, but a frightened animal will employ any self-preservation tactics it can, in order to survive. I wouldn't be testing an aroused possum. If one can chew a rat in that manner, then he can inflict a memorable bite.
Yes. Their bite can be brutal and thry get infected like cat bites do because of all the bacteria in their mouths. I've been bit a couple of times by my non-releasable adult male with no depth perception. He came to me to rehab as an infant couldn't be released. My girls were very gentle and were able to take live crickets or meal worms from my fingers without biting me. Such soft and gentle mouths, they love to lick, then rub on you like a cat when they are happy. If your really loved abd extremely lucky they will do the opossum twist for you after the lick, rub session. It's the CUTEST THING EVER! They are super cool animals .
