HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 19 июл 2020
- Go behind the scenes of Phantom's 25th Anniversary performance, where we discover all about the Phantom's iconic mask, while Christopher Tucker talks through the history of the Phantom's disfiguration makeup.
From Phantom of The Opera at the Royal Albert Hall (2011): In celebration of the 25th Anniversary of Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera, Cameron Mackintosh produced a unique, spectacular staging of the musical on a scale which had never been seen before. Inspired by the original staging by Hal Prince and Gillian Lynne, this lavish, fully-staged production set in the sumptuous Victorian splendour of London's legendary Royal Albert Hall features a cast and orchestra of over 200, plus some very special guest appearances.

"The Phantom has tried to make himself look extraordinarily attractive and masculine and handsome.."
Me: *Already melting at the sight of Ramin*
RIGHT!
*me over who got a nose bleed from when his mask gets taken off in the 2004 movie* 😭😭 help-
OMG FR
@@thephantomoftheopurrra2527, really?!
And, Erik Destler, aka, The Phantom of The Opera, is all those things, and so much more! I love Erik Destler so much! My Angel of Music ❤️
Ah, three things that amaze me, theatre make up, Ramin Karimloo, and Phantom of the Opera.
YASSSSS
I agree 😍♥️
Agreed!
Watch Les Miserables!
@@danj1657 I was going to see it live, but then deadly airborne disease happened.
Am I the only one? He's still handsome asf even with those scars.
No sirrrr u aren't alone
Tbh, by modern day standards his deformity wouldn’t be that much of a detriment, unfortunately though in the late 1800’s it would’ve definitely been considered the most horrifying abomination that anyone could have ever been unfortunate enough to be born with(which is probably why if anyone ever tried to do a modern retelling of POTO the deformities design wouldn’t work, unless though they tried making it worse than how the book even described it)
Yes!!!!!!!!!!! He is................... !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
if anything I’m even more attracted to him
Nope u aren't alone cos for some reason I had a dream of telling him hrs beautiful
He's really cute tho 🥺 how he came at 2:43 my heart is melting
@peacelovechocolate i'm ready where i sign up?
Petition to post wandering child and/or angel of music/the mirror.
Day 1
Yes please! Any clip and I am happy!! Notes, angel of music, wandering child, down once more, all I ask of you, think of me, Hannibal, the auction, lot 666, overture
you get the point
Hmmm how about the whole show instead
@@cosmicash7 YESSSSSS
Anjali Suh I wish they could but due to copyright reasons they cannot
@@brandanl7780 Oh, you're right. I hadn't even thought of that
Phantom was the greatest and most popular release on this channel by far
It's amazing how many people appreciated the meaning of the mask and devoted to realize it!
It's amazing that even with this make up on Ramin singing was so outstanding!
I see phantom, I click.
Me too 😄
I swear I almost broke my phone screen I hit the notification so hard 😂

😁😁😁
Me to
I see Ramin irl, I die. AND THEN DIE AGAIN. AND AGAIN. AND AG- you know what I mean.
*Ramin is one of the best phantoms tho.*
Couldn't agree more.
Not just one of the best, he IS the best!
he’s THE best
He’s the second best for me, because no Phantom can hold a candle to the original Micheal Crawford’s voice
He is the best.
Even though I have watched this before, I have no problem to sit through it one more time.
same
issa mood
Felt that
Why does the makeup from the stage version look more horrifying than the makeup from the big budget film version
Joel Schumacher’s one ? Not a fan of that movie... something missing in that version
The movie one just looks like Zuko tbh
Eh, if anything the one from the film looks like actual damage though. Stage makeup makes him looks like clay and a bee sting on his lip
Alex Santoro The film one looks like a bad rash he got
Brenden Samsel still better than the stage version 🤣
On a superficial level: how can one man be so sexy and exude such raw masculine energy.
On a deeper level: I think Ramin's Phantom is one of the best I've seen. The energy between him and Sierra makes the roles of the Phantom and Christine really come alive, and his voice is very powerful, not just in the loud notes but how he drops his voice to sound very sinister. That being said, I would have loved to watch the Broadway 25th Anniversary performance with Hugh Panaro to see his take on the Phantom. Sadly all I can find is the Phantom quartet with Sierra. But being in the UK, so far I have struggled to find the full show. However the performance at the Royal Albert Hall was fantastic.
You mean “Phan-tactic!” See what I did there? LOL!
What a gorgeous Phantom Ramin is!
Ramin too handsome, pls nerf
ALW: I got you
Finally one of these videos about Ramin!
This clip has been on RUclips for a long time. If you look you will find many others about him.
Brian Austin Cool thanks!
And then in the movie, Gerard butler looks like he had a bad allergic reaction to some shellfish
It looks like he held his half head into boiling water ;w;
Yeah the stage versions were so much better
I honestly liked Gerard as the phantom. There were some bad things but over all I liked the movie.
@@BadWolfBricks no
The Slimy Crew why. I think the phantoms voice should be powerful and somewhat creepy. You may have a different opinion and that’s fine.
I want to see this musical SO. BADLY. Ramin is one of my favorite performers ever I REALLY WANT TO SEE THIS SHOW!! Didn't this channel already show it once?
Yes it has been shown. If you wish you can rent or buy it.
dailymotion :)
I dont know bit i would like to see the show to
Yes but you can buy it on Amazon..that's what I did.
@@anonymousrabbit8933 omg thanku
wow this channel really knows what we want huh
2:43 Absolutely the BEST thing ever!
Absolutely essential -- I've focused on production (in all media) for 50 years, and this is the heart and life of creativity, skill, and inspiration. THIS is what creates the moment for the audience -- and without it, there would be no audience and no theatre or film.
Okey but CAN YOU PLEASE BRING THE PHANTOM BACK? I WANT TO SEE IT AGAIN SO BADDD😭😭😭
So bad that you cannot be bothered to buy it.
AAAAAA (fangirl scream) I WAS JUST WATCHING NORM! This is so cool!
Phantom’s makeup is brilliant
2:43 “we’re in the middle of a show! let’s go!!” Ramin is such a wholesome cinnamon roll
I’m a simple girl, I see Phantom of the Opera, I click
I haven’t been this early since carlotta was still the leading lady
This comment
The last time I was as early as you, Piangi and Boquet were still alive
Ubaldo, al Diablo!
@Itzel GC *andiamo
Stand by for a deluge of requests for a repeat of the show. For those who REALLY want to see it there is a link in the information box through which you can buy it.
best phantom yet
As someone who has been on the her majesty’s theatre stage, the amount of work the get in the props is hard. The tables were hanging on ropes, chandelier on a single rope. It was fascinating.
As a tech kid, this is awesome to look at, and as a phantom fan, this makes it just that much better.
Continuing the Phantom binge!
Me casually liking every phantom video there is
Can we have phantom again😭
@Thomas Thornton I'm kinda only 14 so no thanks 😂
Thanks for uploading this! Since I saw the show I always wondered how they made the mask - it's so hard to tell where the latex stops and his real skin begins in the show! This is amazing!
Interesting backstage tidbit. Thank you for sharing it.
beautiful !! my angel of music 😍😍😗😗
8 views and 11 likes???
Love Ramin, makeups amazing, thanks for posting
You can’t make Ramin Karimloo look unattractive. The face might look ugly but there is everything else .
The Phantom of The Opera character isn’t unattractive in any way, shape, or form! I think his facial deformity makes him very unique! And, I think. even though Erik has a facial deformity, he’s very handsome!
Yeah, even the disfigured make up didn't reduce his beauty at slightest😂
Omg do we get Phantom again?!
We will get new shows in August
Buy it!
Queen eSs I already did! It’s just so much fun to watch it the same weekend and see all the comments, feels more like a theatre experience. 😊
@@ZeeGeeSims oh thought you didnt know about the dvd!
@@justess797 I actually bought it on RUclips the weekend it showed! Once was not enough and that's all I had time for that weekend. :)
As if anything could take away from Ramin ❣️
Ramin is so perfect as Erik... i would fall in his arms and be his forever ❤❤😳
Omg I freaking love this show so much! I had never seen it until my mom made me watch it with her when they posted it... now I know every word and I own the recording and the album😂
The power of Ramin’s charm! #BringBackPOTO25thRAH🥰
lol no matter how much they try to make Ramin more Phantom-Lile ugly they can't HAHAHA he still looks damn fine
Ramin 😍😍😍
Love this show very interesting behind the scenes content thank you for sharing this snippet xx
How he still look so good though
Fun Fact: when Ramin first auditioned for POTO, ALW thought he was too good-looking and almost didn’t hire him.
No doubt about his handsomeness, but as Mackintosh has said in his interview he wanted Ramin as the phantom ever since his performance in les mis.
thank you
Literally crying

ramin was nerfed hskfjjsjs
I'm still wondering how they gave the deformities that shine they have on stage, almost like they're oozing fluid. Anyone have any ideas as to how they did that?
makeup is art :)
Wowwww 👏 👏👏
ce serais bien de passer sur Genève …
Never clicked so fast
💓💓
Very interesting
How about uploading _Down Once More_ here?
All that work and yet the bald cap was peeling off his neck the entire anniversary performance. wah wah

What surprised me the most: The Phantom has the microphone on his forehead?!
The Phantom of the Opera at the Royal Albert Hall in 2011
I clicked so fast.

All that and it never occurred to them that it might be easier to cast an actor with, idk, actual craniofacial differences? >
Wasn’t he in Holly City?
We discovered a little fart at 1:24 and can’t stop laughing
I will never NOT want POTO content
The link for LND leads you to a unavailable video

hadley fraser/ raoul content come on
💃👑💅
This version being my first impression: So phantom is supposed to be absolutely horribly deformed. Kinda scary tbh there’s literally brain.
Me watching the Gerard Butler version: that is not bad. But I guess we gotta keep Gerard looking good.

Ladies, gentlemen... I love this opera and this adaptation of the novel but... I can't with that.. In my opinion, in any version (1947-2004) the phantoms are too handsome. I know that are adaptations and that certain things not are in films o change it, like The Persian or the Room of Mirrors, or that 'the phantom' is a stalker with the face destroy for acid... but, whatever, that the ghost's physicist has only adapted in the first version (1925)and in no other more ... It's very disappointing for lovers of novels gothic of XIX. Sorry if hurt yo, lovers of the opera, but I should to say that
Fyi that this is called cripface and it's not okay.
Did she tell you what she did with the other one?
I think this mask design is really awful tbh I definitely prefer the one from the movie
❤❤
