I see this a lot on r/JustNoMIL. What ends up happening is one of two scenarios: one is they come from a culture where you're expected to take care of your elderly relatives this way. The other is that a parent ruins their child's credit, and because of that the child has to do the same for *their* kid, and so on and so on until the end of time.
I knew somebody in school whose brother was a programmer. Burned the candle at both ends, never slept, didn’t eat well…guy was not even 40 years old when he was found dead at his computer; heart attack. It was not due to an undetected heart issue or anything, just abusing his body (no drugs detected, prescription or otherwise,) until it gave out. You only have your health in life, so remember to always take care of yourself!
Sad to say that this kind of stuff happens, I'm living proof of it. I wish I had learned younger to not set myself on fire to keep my so called family warm

Even though it was SOOOOO frustrating, I watched the full video b4 commenting. I knew b4 OP'S 1st post was half done his parents feared Nadia the moment op voiced his desire to marry her. The attacks they immediately started against Nadia, was basically a confession that they knew how f'd up it was that their son did so much while they did nothing but freeload. Regardless how much op assured his parents Nadia wouldn't interfere, they knew they were so far out of line & it couldn't last forever. Therefore, in an attempt to make it last as long as possible, they tried to prevent any change occurring in op's life, no matter how tiny. Nadia was a huge variable beyond their ability to control & therefore too dangerous to allow to stay. I'm convinced that as long as op's parents were being supported, they would've disparaged op from marrying no matter who it was or how old he became. They would've ALWAYS put their life of lazy leisure over his happiness; especially since they didn't seem to care even when he was a kid. It was NEVER about Nadia, baby trapping, his age, her looks or anything else. It was ALWAYS about squeezing every last penny they could out of op b4 he'd had enough. I may not entirely agree with op going radio silent once Sadie "escaped", but he might've been concerned of his resolve weakening by speaking with them. I would've suggested an email heads-up if nothing else, since there's a delay between work & the corresponding paycheck. The sooner they knew their "atm" quit, the longer they had to become responsible adults. Plus, it would ensure enough time passed that any inability to cover bills couldn't be attributed to anyone but the parents & their lack of effort. I feel parents like this don't deserve anything but utter disdain & contempt. They aren't worthy of the privileged title "Mom or Dad". It's sad op's extended family didn't step up/in b4 op felt he had to sacrifice his childhood to not just survive, but ensure Sadie could actually have one. If nothing else, these stories remind me how lucky I was to have my wonderful parents raise me.

Parents are legally REQUIRED TO TAKE CARE OF THEIR CHILDREN UNTIL THEY REACH THE AGE OF 18!!!! What OP NEEDS TO DO is PROVE that he’s been taking care of himself & his sister since the age of 8 & get legal guardianship of his sister. & ABSOLUTELY STOP PAYING FOR THOSE LAZY LEECHES!!!
