"We need a Captain Carter show." Agreed! But until then, if you're hungry for more Peggy, there was an "Agent Carter" TV series, and the first season was really good.
Yeah... That's always the funny thing: people ask for more female-led stories, then don't watch them. ABC has a 2-million viewer bottom for shows, and when Agent Carter hit that, they said, "whelp, that's all she wrote, then."

@@sonnay8085 It aired on ABC in 2015. The MCU TV shows from before Disney+ existed tended to get ignored by the MCU films.
I think it gets even better when you realize that Howard is the one who changes Bucky’s mind when in the main MCU he’s killed by him. I assume that because of this Howard is never killed and it would be interesting to see where Tony ends up as a result of that.

@@Fsudryden If you mean the clip of Bucky and Alexei, I believe that episode was supposed to be in Season 2 but wasn't ready in time for release so it's being saved for S3. Kind of like the Gamora/Tony episode that was moved from S1 to S2.

This episode makes me want an episode set in the 1940s but instead of The Avengers its "The Invaders". They already have Cap and Bucky for the team, Namor is now in the MCU, and The First Avenger had an Easter Egg appearance by the original Human Torch character so What If could use some plot point to activate him and join in as well and have the core Invaders characters. Just need a few others that would have been around during World War II (i.e., T'Challa's grandfather, young Isaiah Bradley, Dottie Underwood's Black Widow from the Agent Carter show, one of Dane Whitman's Black Knight ancestors, etc.) and we could have a fun episode of superheroes fighting Nazis

I've never laughed so hard in agreement with Adam @11:28. As a dad, the fights I have with my son are ones we need to have, but I hope he eventually understands that I never want to him to lose.

Really looking forward to your reactions to the rest of season 2. The genuine glee on your faces when you watched season 1 and now season 2 is just delightful to watch.

I mean, considering Robert and Vanessa are rarely actually late to the party, that universe might have more accurate channel names 😅
The winter soldier walking out of the plane and seeing Peggy is my favorite moment from this season!
Jay I sat in the theater and hoped that after Quill says "He's NOT letting him go." he did manifest a bit of Ego's power. Say that Ego was already reforming. Also Peters cellular anatomy being half celestial when he was in the womb allowed him to survive in the dissapating atmospheric envelope long enough to be rescued by Warlock due to it.
This episode has the Ant-Man vibe I was missing from Quantumania. There were more creative shrink/grow shots and use of that power in this episode than that whole movie and in the end it was all about family. The first major battleground is a fair.
I love that out of all of them, it ended up being Howard who talked down the Winter Soldier, getting through to Bucky. And I do agree with Jay, Starlord keeping some powers would have been fun.
The bit about Captain America's main power being his good heart reminds me of an insightful comic scene starring Rikki Barnes, a young gender-bent version of Bucky created by Franklin Richards: when Rikki asked if there was a reason behind her many multiversal adventures ( which gave her the moniker of "the girl without a world"), they explained to her that every time Franklin created a world, he deemed necessary to put a cap-like hero in it, soeone who "is always good, is always tough, and always cares".
The Christmas episode has lots of clever holiday wordplay
Sadly Peter left Earth too early to know to do a KAMEHAMEHAAAAA! when he blasted the avatar of Ego.
I am consistently reminded that animation in any form is the best medium for doing superheroes
Oh, Jay, I remember that dream, that your child would always respect you and never argue with you. I'm now raising my sixth and last teenager. To quote my favorite musical, "life has killed the dream I dreamed." 🤣
It's like I often try to tell my sister when she complains about her kids arguing with her: "if you want a mindless slave, get a robot doll. A child is a person, and that's a good thing" 😁
@@IceMetalPunk Oh, I agree 100%, but it is still your job as a parent to teach them. I know she won't listen, and when whatever it is blows up in her face, she knows she can come to me and we'll work through it. Or she'll have a lesson in consequences, depending on the situation. 🤣 But that's not going to stop me from trying to get through to her up front. 💜
Seeing Ego without a beard is baffling my mind, because Guardians of the Galaxy 2 was the first thing I really knew Kurt Russell in and I'm used to him with a beard as Ego now haha😂 Though he was in one of my favorite childhood movies, Sky High, and I just didn't realize it until recently!

I FORGOT Peter had powers! I agree with Jay, Guardians of the Galaxy 3 was amazing, even with Lylla, the otter... But it was SO good and got me to watch Peacemaker because James Gunn is awesome!
I'm less than a minute in, but... I actually really love Jay's idea, even if it was a joke! In Ms. Marvel, didn't Kamala's mom have the bangles buried in a box? What If Kamala found them, brought them to her mom's attention... but didn't take them? And then, trying to get rid of that old association she never liked, her mom does sell the bangles, either at a yard sale or to a pawn shop or something? Then someone else gets their hands on them, someone who's maybe not as noble a person as Kamala, and now we've got a supervillain fighting the Djinn coming after them, wreaking havoc everywhere. (Kamala can't be the only mutant in the MCU capable of wielding the bangles, surely.)

You know a What If episode is great when you want MORE
This episode had a LOT of faults for me, for one the Ego fight was WAAAAY too short. And second they really downplayed Bucky's brainwashing.......how easily it was overcome by Howard who barely knows him(Peggy would have been a thousand times better) and he just walks away after it was clearly shown how much it had a hold on him in the MCU up till Falcon and winter soldier. Otherwise a great idea but a lot might have been done to flesh out the team members
Howard knows him as much as Peggy does. also, it's What If. these stories needed to be wrapped up in 30 mins so it's all expedited.
@@loganbigmo ok that aside it was shown when he was under the influence of his handlers he got the job done no matter what. Innocents or targets didn't deter him, but a few words for a friend in this one and he is able to break free enough to go off on his own and not kill Peter was beyond poor writing. It just completely devalued his whole journey to become the man he is in F+WS
@@TheOnlyHawkeye666 "What If" and "poor writing" go hand in hand. Since for the most part each episode is its own universe, everything is rushed. You're not gonna have many episodes to get Winter Soldier back to Bucky, so it's done in one episode.
I love what you guys do, BUT: Are we not going to get the Christmas Special of Doctor Who as a reaction?!
What I wanna see is them have Hela and Odin come to that cross roads before she gets banished and instead she learns the difference between necessary war for the sake of peace, and unnecessary conquest for power. Then have Odin send Hela to earth in ancient days where she has to save humanity from a global conquest by En Sabah Nur (Apocalypse). This way we get more fun with early Mutants and Inhumans while also getting a Hela good Time…
I like to call this version of the team the "Parent Avengers", and I'm aware that not all members are a mentor figure (Thor and Bucky are the main outliers), but I still wonder how an interaction between this team and the main Avengers would have gone, if the strong "we are family" vibes could cement a generational legacy.
I had already thought of something like this for an episode of Agent Carter. But in my selection would be: Agent Carter, Howard Stark, Hank Pym, T'Chaka, Lady Sif.

they need to keep making this every year.. but what I would like a Star Wars what if..? come up with a new character similar to the watcher 😂 hey, it would be interesting as hell.. get whatever voice actors did their characters in movies to come back and do it in the style of What if... what if Darth Vader joined princess, Leia,.. I have the action figure of an all white Darth Vader 😂 , stories could be pretty endless

Oh boy! You two are in for a real treat once you get to Episode 7 of this season. Anyway, I really enjoyed this episode as well as seeing you two react to it. I especially loved this alternate version of the Avengers and the relationship between Hope van Dyne and Peter Quill.

This is probably the best episode of the season, not to say there aren't some fun one's to come but this just really works well. Really fun and cool.
I dunno, I think Kahhori's might be, if only because it's a butterfly effect that gives us an entirely new superhero, instead of only affecting characters we already know.
