Do you mind giving a link for the battery you used? I know you said that it's a 3s LiPo, but you never listed the discharge rate-
Here too, needed a recommendation for minimum discharge rate for battery in a 2/3S lipo. Comment from anyone is welcomed.
is there anyway I can make it like 110 fps?
Step one: accumulate a sufficient amount of money to afford parts
The struggle of a nerf modder. It’s real.
Dude yes im saving for components too
Step two: learn how to solder.
@@jacksonez uh huh thats all i need to figure out
actually its like 65$ not too much
There has never been a more accurate depiction of the phrase “ Ferb, I know what we’re gonna do today”
Tried this with the default rev switch...
the fireworks were nice
oof
This is honestly one of the best mod guides for the stryfe on RUclips.
“Mediocre hunk of plastic” it’s the most competitive blaster in stock only wars.
If you’re not including rival. Also, some of the stock dart zone and buzzbee stuff smokes nerf brand blasters in stock form. The dz savage spin gets 100 FPS just on aa’s and holds 45 rounds and only costs $30.
The dart zone aeon can shoot 130 fps unmodded, so the stryfe is outdated, but its great still because of the ease of modding.
@@leafrn7059 True, but in CQB if you miss you have to prime it again, and it’s pretty heavy to prime for a stock blaster. The Stryfe does have better rate of fire.
I’d take a Specter instead of a Stryfe now, though.
@@JimmyDean59 You mean a spectrum?
@@AmericanFoamI use “stock” I just short the cap instead of removing the board.
You are so underrated. You should have around a million subs already
I agree. He makes quality content but is not really recognized...
Good job on the mod guide. My son and I have mod’d many different Stryfe and reskin. This video is easy for those who haven’t mod’d a simple flywheel blaster to follow along. It’s important as you alluded to the FPS all depends on the motors selected with the crush of the flywheel cage. My son has a 3s Stryfe with Krakens that we only are able to use at Atomic or BTA games because it hits 175-180 FPS consistently. Good job!
damn sounds like an awesome blaster! What flywheels and cage are you using?
It has those same cyclone flywheels but the cage is a morpheus with the metal dart guide/barrel segment.
@@rob010976 you should make videos about the stryfes and the reskins
Thanks for the guide. It was very straightforward and very well-explained without becoming overly technical.
Literally just got into this. Gonna use this guide. Great video, pace and explanation
Nice touch with the Flyte magazine.
That’s pretty BA! One of these days I need to come watch you do one of these mods it’s impressive. So much of it sounds like a foreign language to me.
Great tutorial! Much needed. Thanks!
Great tutorial! Gotta try it on my own! Thanks!
Thanks for the guide for my first ever lipo mod! it works great!
Great guide and it will help me, a previous collector who just got back into the hobby, to mod my first flywheel. Though I do have one question, and that’s what lipo are you using? I couldn’t find it in the description.
does it matter if its the Positive or Negative wire that goes to the trigger switch? I notice you did the negative wire, but in other mod tutorials, i've seen people do the positive.. thanks in advance!
BEST MOD GUIDE EVER!!!!!!
This.
is the best nerf stryfe mod video I've ever seen
I love you
no homo
Long live the stryfe! I love the stryfe! RS too :)
Sry means rapid strike right?
Rs
Picked up one of these Stryfes at a thrift store for a buck. The battery compartment and presumably other electric components were water-damaged/rusted due to possibly being left outside. Was looking for a basic, re-wiring/repair. But this mod seems to be the better way to go.
Great find.. they're hard to come by now and going for like $50 on Ebay.. I just picked one up from FB market with a spare mag and darts for $15.
@@Wuqz Damn. Didn't know that. Of course this was back in I think September or so. I was looking for something to rebuild into a cosplay item for The Walking Dead "Commonwealth" outfit I'm putting together. This was one of those small town, church-affiliated thrift stores in Clayton NM. Always a treasure trove when going through those places.
Do you think this might work for the new MA40? Or will you be posting a new guide for that?
This is the best mod guide thanks bro
Mine likes to melt the accufake tips but elite darts are good anything I should do there? Other than that the things a beast
42.5 cage btw
Great video! Flywheelers are something I don't mess with and the Stryfe is gonna be my first. Best mod video I've seen on it! Question, any advice for short darts? Looking for the right flywheel and crush to get around 130 fps.
Meaning recommendations on said flywheels and short dart pusher.
Check out www.outofdarts.com Go into the blog section and open the Stryfe mod guide. Luke from OOD has a one click add to cart list that will upgrade a stock Stryfe to shoot about 150 FPS with full length darts! Which to me is a win as full lengths are cheap, plentiful, and easy to scavenge on the battlefield.
Bro get 43 mm cage, cyclones and valks
Hey american foam i just subscribe. and one question do i really need to change my flywheel cage or not?
The stock cage is very cheap and not sturdy enough to handle the torque from the new motors and wheels. It will work but not very well.
Is it possible to use electrically conductive glue instead of soldering? Or would that not work in the blaster?
Really useful. Will be doing this to my Stryfe. One question - does it need a fuse?
It does not.
Is the which battery cover is the one needed to fit the lipo? The small or large?
I've wondered how to manage low voltage on the lipo so you don't run it too long.
Quick question, why did you use a 3s lipo? Could you have used a 2s for this build? Thanks! This video is awesome btw! Thanks for putting in the time for the hobby.
The motors were made for 3s lipo
Wow this video is amazing so detailed. Can't wait to try this.
Does anyone have a link for the flywheel cage. An STL file would be even better
nice work bro try to make a fully automatic stryfe mod
I have the parts for that at home! Gonna do that video soon.
Great mod guide, however next time please zoom in on what your working on more, that way I can see more detail. Thank you!
I know this is an old video but what battery did you use? Unless i missed it in the parts list.
Which battery is best for my neo-hellcats (180)? I mean the better version which is a bit overkill. And i want to use the whole Power of these engines. How do i know which is good?
that was cool
Hey American foam is there a way you can mod my stryfe for me? I have the kit I can just send it to you?
you know, modding a springer might be better.
for my wallet, my ears and peoples skin
great video! this really helped!
Did the motor screws come with the flywheel cage
can you please show us how to mod the nerf stockade because i want it to shoot harder.
What crush on fly wheel cages do you recommend?
42.5 mm is a a good midrange cage spacing. Fang revamped motors and cyclone wheels is a good setup. Not the highest FPS but won’t destroy darts either.
Can you do a full mod guide with the worker full auto kit for the stryfe
What battery did you use??? I'm trying this myself and have no idea of what batteries you used.
3s lipo. It's a turnigy nano tech 1400mah 30c 3s lipo
Question. what would i have to do if i was using a 2S battery? would i still need to use a extended battery cover? only because i want to make a sort off sleeper styfe. as i will also be using the Full auto convert from Worker aswell. i dont really want to remove what i dont have to. So if u could Please let me know on what i would have to posably have to remove or change from ur video that would be greatly apreshiated.
Can I upgrade my flywheels but not the cage? Also can I use imr instead of lipo
what lipo battery did you use
what size battery cover do you recommend?
I have a 42.5mm cage but the gap is too small for darts to pass through. Is it because the flywheel diameter is too big or the regular darts are too big?
I run that gap on my mods. It has no problem with regular darts. It will not accept FVJ (hard tipped darts) though. Those are dangerous anyway. Otherwise it should be just fine with any normal dart.
Wait how many volts would that lipo be?? Thanks!
All 3s lipos are 12.6 volts, but this one is a turnigy nano tech 1300mAh 45~90c discharge
What lipo did you use please?
How do I add a select fire kit in here?
What Lopo battery do you use
what spacing is recommended?
Wich wire dozen do you have and what is the dozen of your flywheelcage?
Check description
Wire is 18 awg stranded silicone wire
What battery did you use
Does it matter what flywheels you use
What flywheel cage do you guys recommend from out of darts
OFP Gen 2 42mm crush. There’s a lot of options out there, but this one is all around good.
Who’s here after the Stryfe X was announced?
What battery do you run
Is it possible to put an extended pusher to use short darts?
Absolutely. A lot of mod shops have simple drop in replacement pushers for that.
did you use loctite at all?
I honestly feel bad for this guy’s neighbors lol
Can i use other flywheels (worker)
Sure. Different wheels yield different results, but they all should fit pretty much.
how hard does this hurt if it is used in a nerf war?
wouldnt you need to solder the positive wire to the switch instead? like so it wont bring any current to the motors when we are not using it.
It doesn’t matter in a simple circuit like this one. When the circuit is open no electricity flows.
@@AmericanFoamoh! i didnt know that. i am kind of new at modding, i will buy a stryfe for christmas and the out of dart 3s lipo entry level mod kit to make my first stryfe mod. thanks for the tutorial btw
Does that one go full auto?
Does the way you wired it add motor breaking?
No
I'm gonna run valkyries with smooth wheels on 3s any tips?
Cage you use will depend on performance. Also if you are using 41.5 switch to krakens
Where did you get that voltmeter from?
Out of darts.
how big your cage was
Do u remove the locks I. This vid
what lipo did he use
Where can I get the battery??
I know this is late but what size or cage is needed ???
Stryfe cages usually vary from 42mm to 43.5mm. The smaller ones have higher FPS but usually need better motors as well. 42.5mm cage plus Fang Revamped motors are a good combo.
what battery did you use?
3s turnigy nano tech 1400mah 30c
Hi just want to ask can i just change only the motor without change anything else like changing remote control car
No. It’s definitely everything or nothing for the most part in nerf electrical mods. The electrical demands of the motors way outclass the capabilities of the stock switches, wires, and batteries.
@@AmericanFoam oooo
What size flywheel cage is that i need to know what size you bought
Depends on what level your on I recommend 2.5
Ofp Morpheus, 3d printed any crush but I'm pretty sure that's 42.5mm
Without modifications can we use lipo 7.4volt rechargeable battery in Nerf infinus instead of 6volts (1.5v 4D size batteries) and max how much volts we can increase in standard Infinus nerf gun? Would it will be safe for gun?
Edit: no. Just no
Does anyone know how to fix a short circuit I had a short circuit in my modified stryfe please help🙏
how many volts does the battery have?
3s I think has 12v mostly
11.1v
Does anyone know what size wire I would need
16 awg is enough to handle a high powered stryfe mod.
can one use the stock flywheels?
You can. The performance won’t be as good as if you upgraded them though. But if you’re on a budget you can always do that later.
Does this work for a blue stryfe?
Yes. All five stryfe variants are the same inside.
Thank you I will definitely be doing this with my stryfe
WHat type of lipo was used?
3S
Hey,bro. Can I leave the stock motors and just use the lipo?
No. It’ll burn them out in pretty short order. The stock motors switches and wires all need replaced with that high current.
You can use 3 IMRS and a dummy battery tho
Does this work with a modulus strife?
Yes.
Thank you.
Here take my sub
How did u learn how to soder
Watching the MakeTestBattle Super Stryfe video. It’s an outdated mod guide now but it’s got a lot of good info including great close ups of the soldering process.
American foam
"A centimeter"
What does it mean when you “upgrade” the flywheels?
There are aftermarket flywheels available from a lot of different hobby shops like Containment Crew, FoamBlast, Out of Darts, etc. each has pros and con depending on which motors and flywheel cage you combine them with. It seems like a lot to grasp at first but it’s pretty simple. I usually go with Cyclone wheels from containment crew, fang revamped motors, and a 42.5mm crush flywheel cage when I’m modding my own Stryfes.
I may make a video on this topic in the near future as well.
American Foam 😊
what size of cage do I get
Whichever one you want. The smaller the crush the more FPS you get generally.
Then factor in another 60 bucks for both the charge and battery
How much does this even all cost?
It really depends on how in depth you want to get with some mods and what game types you want to play in. Some motors are cheap but lower powered some cages give you more accuracy. You could probably get away with $50 or less in parts but you’ll still need a battery and charger for it. That is going to be about another $50, but it’ll last you years and you’ll never need to buy alkaline batteries ever again. So you end up saving on battery costs over time.
What flywheel and flywheel cages do you reccomend for the rapidstrike?
Depends
Yo if anyone can give me a good lipo batter brand name and what it’s called because I got no idea what lipo to use
Really depends on what motors you’re using.
How much did it cost
Builds like these should cost about $60. My build costs about $130
I personally added up all of the things in the description, and then tacked in another $30 2s LIPO, so around $120
@@Alice-zx7ib I never really add lipo costs that's why my build looked cheaper
Can I also use fang motors
Yes
@@AmericanFoam but he has to cut shell
@COACHTURTLE 9124 no fangs are 132
The original fang motors are 132 though I don’t know anyone that sells those anymore.
Why dosent mine work
It Only fires if mag in and the bullet gets stuck or dosent go fast
i thought this was mor then a hundrund$ but it like 30
also what type of battery
"replace flywheelz n stuff"
Me: yeah okay i can do that
"replace wiring solder add heatthingy microswitch n stuff"
Me: mayyyybe not
