Great episode - Ena and Martha gold- Ena hilarious the way she changes mood. Great ending and intense too - Christine was such a troubled and sad character.
“Sheila Cordingly”!? I wonder if the renaming of these characters was a conscious decision, or just a case of later writers not communicating with earlier ones.
Ena Sharples is so like my great grandmother it’s scary, every time Ena goes on a rant so many memories, not all good ones though🙄. They even dress the same, but granny was only 4ft tall and Irish.
Let's face it Ken Barlow is a bit of a womaniser & lech & the Barlow list lengthens.. Corrie in its Z-Cars-Softly Softly grittiness has its characters with very little redeeming features especially Ena Sharples who needs a month in the stocks.

Good decision, Christine, if Joe’s threatening violence...
Don’t hold back, Ena. Tell us how you really feel. Sheesh!🙄😂
🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
'@2.40 'Potato pie funnel poisoning' classic
How full are the two coffees Marion’s carrying? I’m surprised she didn’t spill it over Ken!
I was born on this day so I can't remember it but great acting though.
Christine makes me think of Keira Knightley.
This is the Corrie I prefer Ena Sharples telling it like it is... modern Corrie is shite.
Doreen looks a bit like Gail!
Ty so much for uploading these episodes great fan from nz here 💓
This is amazing!I was 10 when this episode was on!😅
Oh my goodness the mind boggles at what age you must be now

I think she is saying "Sheila Cordelia", like doing a rhyming slang thing in order to mock her and shut her up.

@15:15 Anne says "dog meat shop" does she mean that literally? Or is that slang for butcher? Not the first time I've heard that phrase.
I don’t dare look it up
Poor Joe. He is smashing.
Would have loved to see the gypsys.
I bet you would

I believe Joe ended up dumping Christine two years later!
The actor went on to play Robert Onedin in 'The Onedin Line'.

Joe Makinson, later, Robert Onedin.
Emily 👋👋👋👋👋👋👋
She’s so bothered by being alone, but in the nineties she gets fed up with Percy Sugden being around! Can’t have it both ways, Emily!
"Glory hole"
And Susie Dent nowhere in sight.😁
Caroline G what does bootie hop mean? I’ve been hearing them say it in some episodes.
Christine is dead cruel.
Propaganda - Christian woman seen as the worst of the lot.
