Watching videos like this gives me false hope because I know realistically I'll never be able to afford any house of that level, but at the same time motivates me to work my ass off to try and get something like what was shown in the video.
Work harder, work more, save more. I worked a near minimum wage job and saved for a vehicle I've always wanted. What i later came to realize was that i only wanted it for it's luxury. I had to stop a second and look back on how i never thought i could save up the money the way that i did. I was proud of myself for it, but decided not to get the car. I instead bought a much more dependable ford ranger. The way i was able to save money so well was sacrifice. The less things i have to upkeep like a phone, Internet, cable etc. I was able to pocket that money. It seems little at first but it grows quickly overtime. My next goal after saving up so much money. (Without spoiling myself) was to invest in something. I wanted to put some extra money aside that will profit me in some way. So i had started researching investments, stocks, dividends etc that would eventually return the amount i put in and more. I made sure i had plenty of money in case an emergency should arise. (Thanks Dave Ramsey for the emergency fund). Then i had what i could technically reward myself with or throw away(not like i'd want to) for investments. Surprisingly this is where my story ends. I met a girl at from where i work and fell in love. Eventually moved in and settled with her and our dog scarlet. (Women suck the money out of your pockets so don't settle...jk) but we did run into a few emergencies, water damages to the house, car problems, helping with loans etc. So i decided to pull away from the investing for now. I intend to eventually have a try at it again. When i get us both in good shape with our savings. Honestly i kinda gave up on my dreams of becoming filthy rich with anything i could desire. I thought having money that i would feel happy. Which don't get me wrong i kinda do. Mainly secure and safe. I didn't realize that living a normal life. (Acting like myself around people i love?¿) would make me happy, but it does. I told myself i wasn't going to have the money issues like my mother and my family, nor did i want my kids or people around me to have to listen to arguing about money....and not actually do anything to change it either.(That's my family, love them to death but it was true.) Weird to think about. But with a little bit of effort and some motivation anyone can do anything. Actually think about it. (Someone literally sat down and invented the lightbulb) Thanks to Thomas Edison i believe. And for the quote "Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. To be fair, the $4.8M listing was $800K overpriced when its true market value was $4 mill in January 2018. The owner was hoping to cash in on promotional videos like this one and the impressive value he added with his pseudo-movie theater, gym and other features. He wasn't being realistic. The vast majority of people that watch this video (something like 98%) can't afford this home. And the wealthy ones are usually quite cunning enough not to mention the resources to understand that $4.8 mill isn't exactly a great deal. The furniture and features are useless because it doesn't come with the home by default. For the example, the pool table can be added in for me if the home for free if the owner agrees. Most rich people like to buy everything new when moving in, which renders many of the furniture useless in consideration of buying the home. That's a big reason why the home slipped to $3.8. The homeowner feared even greater dip in a house market that was beginning to show slippage after a nice 10-year run. He wanted to remove all liability of owning such a home (including property taxes, monthly expenses and maintenance costs) so $3.8 mill was more than a good enough deal despite losing $1 mill on his desired price.
