Basically the rules of summoning is: 1. The soul must be weaker than the summoner, otherwise, fail. 2. The soul must no longer has fighting spirit/defiance/strong will, otherwise, fail. 3. 1 and 2 can be ignored if the soul allow itself to be summoned even if the soul is stronger than the summoner, current example case is Igris.
At this stage, Iron isn't really stronger than Kim Chul was when he was alive. It has been stated already that the summons he takes are weaker than when they were alive. He's probably somewhere around the weak A rank in this episode. Kim Chul and his squad lost to the ice elves not because he was weak but rather cuz they were outnumbered and his teammates were weak. As a tank (whether as Kim Chul or Iron), he can hold his own against Baruka for a little while but not for an extended time. That's why it seems like he got stronger because he's holding is own against Baruka solo rather than against Baruka and/or an army of Ice elves. Kim Chul always could have held his own against Baruka for a bit.
8:23 a few things to clear up they are around mid to high low S ranks you'll see in the future the true top tiers of S rank they aren't even called S rank any more, As for SJW after this Red gate hes basically peak A Rank if not a Low S rank but that won't be for long...
There is a limit to how many shadows he can have in his army. So after the Ice Bears was raised, he was likely at his limits concerning acquiring new shadows. As his intel and mana goes up, his max number of shadows increase!
Kim Chul was always strong. But he went 3 days without food, probably was carrying the crap out of the men he took with him and the cold definitely wore him down, especially being in all that metal armor wouldn’t help with the cold.
I think it makes a lot of sense the way that Kim acted. In real life and in the Solo Leveling universe, there are going to be people who are egotistical and look down on people they perceive as lower than they are. In real life, the strong will always look down on the weak. In Solo Levelling where people are given legit killing powers, it's even more so. When you have people with tremendous power (A rank is no slouch as you're already top percentile), hunters with ego are going to make destructive and impulsive decisions especially when disrespected by people who they perceive as weaker than they are. Kim is not justified in his murderous rage, but some people just act this way due to human nature and ego. Just shows that the ugly side of human nature, so it's not really a flaw of the episode. It's actively making a point of what will happen when you give humans so much power.
Jinwoo is not a necromancer he's a Shadow Monarch which gives him necromancer-like abilities while also allowing him to fight on his own in whatever style he picks
No he is a necromancer but that title got upgraded to a shadow monarch they literally show it in Eps 12 when he got his job how did everyone forget that😂
@@Young_Wrath Necromancer is the base downgraded job of his current class Shadow monarch, it's like how in some games you can pick a base class of swordsman but later class up to knight or magic swordsman
Epic fight and it’s not even the main fight of the season! Catching the arrow in mid-air was fireee🔥🔥 even when he killer that elf in one second ahahahah
Why would healers even bother going into dungeons. Joohee can just work at a hospital an get rich AF just sitting there doing a miniscule fraction of the work of a doctor.
Guys, A Rank Hunters are mad strong. We usually underestimate them because we see the entire anime from SJW perspective, and he is an exception. That guy Kim was already weak because he passed a week with no food, shelter or sleep. When SJW turned him into a a shadow, he came back full strength. So yes, Iron would be Kim at his peak (well rested, fed and prepared). Baruka was also a peak A rank level, not even S rank yet. Still, SJW needed Igris and Iron to defeat him. That being said, if Baek decided to restrain SJW after he left the gate because he is suspicious, there was nothing SJW could do against Baek right now (maybe try to run). And probably the gate turned red because the system wanted to save SJW from Hwang Dongsoo? Who knows....
No Baruka has been well known to be an S level boss. It took Sung Jin Woo (high A - weaker/equal to Igris and weaker than Baek), Igris (high A to low S) and Iron (low to mid A) just to beat him. There is no way that Baruka is an A rank boss.
Remember: even while Jinwoo is fighting the boss, when his shadow soldiers kill monsters he get experience and can literally be leveling up while fighting the Boss! As for Jinwoo's new maturity, he is 24 years old, if anything, he looked too young in the first 2 episodes of Season 1. At this point he does look like a 24 year old!
the ice elf was suppose to say what they are but it was glitched....more about this will be revealed but on upcoming seasons... the fact that it was glitched is meant for jinwoo not to know it yet...
I do not think the elves actually glitched it's more like the system altered Jin woo's perception in order to prevent him from hearing the answer so other people don't see any glitch.
he "liked" kim (it sounded like they only started training him to be a raid leader pretty recently) because as a guild leader a A rank is a pretty valuable asset, think that the country only has 7 S ranks, A ranks aren't as rare but still is a big loss for the guild
@@BrosNShowsAnime Yeah, the manhwa is amazing. You should at least take a look at comparisons, the anime is doing well this season, however the manhwa still has more detailed scenes and above all the characters are more visually expressive, you can appreciate more the anger or fear in the manhwa. The result of the battles is the same, but I can say that Baruka looked more fearsome and it was noticeable that Jin Woo was having more problems in combat. The anime is giving a "cooler" Jin Woo from early stages while in the manhwa his change of attitude is more progressive, which in the end would reach the same point as the anime, Jin Woo becomes a colder and more calculating person, but as I say, these changes were not from one moment to another, so the effort he was making was understood and it creates a little more tension and suspense when watching the fights. For now the anime looks good, and I don't want to give spoilers for anime-only viewers, especially now that the lore is just beginning, but it won't hurt to at least take a look at the differences between both versions.

There is one more thing , the corrupted souls. Can’t be extracted even if they are weaker than the summoner.
Iron became stronger as a summon because Jinwoo's summons gain strength in proportion to Jinwoo's strength. So as he gets stronger, so do his summons.
Ahhhh yes this makes sense thank you
it depends on the summon honestly. stronger summons like Igris and B later are actually weaker as summons than when they were alive.
