  • The Disturbing Story of Melinda Pleskovic
It began like a plot from a horror film, with masked men peering through the windows of an ordinary suburban house and the chilling sound of door handles being turned in the night. Then, right on script, the strange occurrences that terrorised a Strongsville family from 2016 to 2017 culminated with a horrific stabbing murder in the kitchen of the family home - and a twist so shocking not even those closest to the family believed it to be true.

Jeff is the poster child for a basement dweller but instead of his moms house it’s his fiancé’s mom. When the fiancé took a job while pregnant and he didn’t, I knew then that he was a piece of crap.

      @@charlisays I agree...
The 2nd 911 Dispatcher, the one to speak with Bruce, did NOT seem empathetic. Not at all. Not even a lil compassionate or even sympathetic..
I understand they have to distance themselves, but its commonly known in the Healthcare field that 'they don't care how much you know until they know how much you care' .
I'm an RN and we have empathy, sympathy, compassion, rapport, therapeutic communication, etc... all shoved down our throats the entire time we're in school.
I used to be an EMT and it was the same thing - the best way to avoid a lawsuit is to be kind and, if it doesn't come naturally to you, then you must create
      a decent bed side manner.
IMO, if a medical professional has that much trouble relating to the patient or their family, if they can not seem to muster up even the minimal compassion necessary to be in that field, then he or she has no business there and should find another job.
      So when I hear

But I have some questions. .
Why didn't Bruce or Mel see red flags when Jeff was easily angered? Sent random texts? Casually texted about jacking off?
Why did they allow such an angry person to live in their home?
Why couldn't Bruce complete even one sentence during his interrogation? I understand he didn't do it and that he was prob in shock, but usually the interrogator will try to calm down the person acting this way. It's best to understand what they are trying to say (especially for a legal investgation). So why didn't the interrogator at least TRY to redirect Bruce or Jeff when they went off on nonsensical tangents?
Idk, I try to put myself in the others shoes so that I may look at the situation from their eyes but in this case,, I'm struggling.
And that says alot for me! Over and 9ver again, maybe hundreds of times throughout my life, I've been told I'm the most Empathetic, Compassionate, Considerate, Non-judgmental person that most ppl have ever met. But I admit I'm having some difficulty here.
I'm not judging Bruce here, but I guess I am judging Jeff and the investigators.

I’m not sure if I’m alone on this.. but, I’ve never read two people more wrong than I did Jeff/Bruce immediately after hearing their contrasting 911 calls back-to-back. Jeff seemed shaken up, cooperative, and genuine.. Bruce seemed performative, uncooperative/combative, and genuinely shady as hell calling 911 TWICE simply to bitch out the operator about local law enforcement, while totally disinterested in the active emergency response or at attempting potentially lifesaving CPR. This was definitely a reality gut check!

    • @7Mushrooms7
      @7Mushrooms7 2 года назад +20

@@LiveFreeOrDie2A same here. I hadn't heard this case before hearing the 911 call and the only clue I had that it was Jeff was that his pic looked like a mugshot. I thought Bruce sounded off too and that Jeff was genuinely in panic and trying to save Melinda. This is proof that every individual reacts different and we can't judge a book by its cover. Some people will be numbed by calmness when in big stress situations and some people will fake distress and act the part very well.

It's funny, when I first heard the 911 calls it was from a different YT channel and they did not tell you who was guilty out right...actually, they made it seem as if the "people harassing" them did it. So, when I heard the son in laws 911 call it sounded sorta legit but when I heard the husband I thought he sounded like the guilty one (obviously know different now). He sounded devoid of emotion except anger (which could have been feigned), while angry, he also seemed calm and collected and what was the biggest "tell" (false tell) - he was building an alibi from the first moments of the call (talking about the so called harassment and blaming the police, that they dropped the ball, etc.)...not to mention not trying CPR...in my experience, all USUALLY good indicators of the callers guilt.
Now, if I knew from the onset that he was innocent, I am sure the call would have sounded much different, likewise, if you didn't know his guilt or innocent, perhaps his 911 call would have raised red flags (whether warranted or not). I know I am wrong now, but he did not sound like an innocent suffering man in that call (sorry Bruce).

I thought Jeff sounded suspicious on the phone with dispatch because he repeated several times that they all got to the house at the same time and went into the house together. Then when Bruce called 911 talking about things being a miss around there and that police have done nothing yet Jeff is on the phone saying no I can’t think of any one who would want to hurt the family. I was thinking why did he not say that to dispatch.
Last what struck me as “off” I would NOT be standing in the yard with my baby when there is a killer on the loose! You go to a trusted neighbor, get in the car with your child and leave the area, something anything but stand there out in the open where this crazy person could kill me and my baby! He'd rather be separated from family and spend 35 years in prison for something he had no reason for or business doing, ending someone's life who welcomed you into their home and showed you kindness.

This case shows that you have to trust your instincts and react immediately to disturbing behavior. I wonder why Anna - having good, supportive parents and relatives, great role models - got involved with this sociopath? His behavior shows that he was devoid of feelings, empathy, heart - not to mention his appearance. After all, you can't hide your personality for a long time beeing togheter. Whatever she saw in him, she unknowingly brought home her mother's murderer. And she has to live with it. Horrific and verry sad.

It's a myth that people with down's don't understand death - they absolutely do. But what we do see is a very delayed reaction to death, sometimes it may be 6 months later and sometimes it may be 6 years later. And they will experience it all very vividly in that moment of onset grief and often outsiders will assume the loss was very recent due to how vividly that person is experiencing the loss. So Kyle will be aware but that connection between cognitive knowledge and acceptance takes much longer than in a neurotypical person.

The Dad is such a good example of shock and reminds me how everyone reacts differently to shock. During his 911 call I was suspicious of him until his interview and hearing the emotion and him putting things together. The brain is crazy the things it will do to protect you when in shock, clearly during the moment it kind of blanked the fact his wife was murdered horribly and focus on the harassment they'd been victims of. Really interesting to see, though equally heartbreaking. Thoughts and prayers go to the dad and his family, so sad.

I’m embarrassed to admit that I also thought her husband was guilty after hearing his 911 call- and even the details about him going in and out of the crime scene. It’s indeed an important reminder that there is no single, expected, or “right way” to behave in traumatic situations. Reminds me of when everyone jumped on Amanda Knox’s behaviour at that crime scene and refused to believe she was innocent EVEN THOUGH there was not a speck of her dna anywhere on or near the crime scene. People couldn’t move past their “gut instincts” about her in spite of undeniable evidence proving her innocence. Anyway, years later and here I am thinking this poor husband actually committed his soulmate’s horrific murder -because he didn’t act “the way I would have acted”. A reminder to always wait for the facts, and the evidence.

My first thought during the 911 call was that it's easier to be angry at the police than to face the horror of the fact that his wife was brutally murdered. I think he focused on trashing the police as a coping mechanism in order to avoid the much more painful emotions that were about what he just had witnessed. I didn't find that suspicious at all.

She's getting a bit of a guilty pleasure out of relaying all of the facts surrounding Mel's murder right to Jeff's face. You can see her aggressive smile as she relays it all right to him. Then she instantly switches to judge mode for the actual sentence itself.
It's fascinating because her enthusiastic attitude towards laying into Jeff would probably be considered sadistic if it weren't for the fact that he was a murderer. So, for those sick individuals out there who enjoy causing pain to others for no reason other than personal power or control, it seems like there are people out there who enjoy causing pain to others because of the disgusting actions that those individuals have taken.
It's like a Yin and Yang or a balance of nature. There are people so enthusiastic about doing GOOD that they'll put on a smile while reminding criminals of all of the hurt that they've caused.

Jeff had everything anyone could ask for, real things, things that really matter.. he had a roof over his head, a soon-to-be wife, a beautiful baby girl, a wonderful family who let him into their home, and his health. He had been provided with every opportunity to be a good husband, father, and son-in-law, but he destroyed all of it. In the process, he destroyed the people who so graciously supported him, and the ripple he caused will continue to stretch far and wide.
I will never understand how someone could so easily look past that.. to not see the opportunity to have an amazing and fulfilling life. Now, his beautiful little girl will have to grow up knowing what a monster her father is, and I pray she's able to live the good life that her father didn't want.

BUT I will never understand killing anyone, if he was unhappy he could have moved on .
Shit , just packing a bag and taking off without saying anything would have been better, FAR better!!

@@andysalter7192 That's totally understandable, but the difference is, he said and pretended like he _did_ want those things. Of course it's okay to _not_ want that kind of life. I'm sure at some point, early in life, everyone feels that way, I know I did.. feelings can change with time, but sometimes they don't, and that's perfectly fine too
But yeah, you should always be upfront and honest with whoever you're in a relationship with, and if the two ideals don't align, it's better to know before it goes too far. This man however, if you could call him that, was a coward for not doing so. Well, he's much more than that, but you know what I mean lol

As someone who no longer has a family, I feel so miserable when I see other families traumatized by these kinds of events. I can tell you with extreme heartache how lonely life is without people around you that love you and care about you -- to wake up every morning knowing there are 7 billion people in the world and not one of them loves you -- to look around and never see a familiar face. I've thought about ending it many times. So its especially painful to see a normal loving family messed up by the incomprehensible actions of someone who was brought into a household with such love -- it always grinds my gears when people can't seem to appreciate what they have. And instead they piss it away. In the case of Jeff, there doesn't even seem to be a motive, a reason why. But at the very least, they still have each other to help survive this trauma. And for that, at least, I do truly envy them.

More true crime channels should be more empathetic to the victims. There are some good ones out there but definitely some big ones that don’t. I use to watch Bailey Sarian but she doesn’t show enough respect to the victims in my opinion. And she has blown up hugely in the past couple of years.

Do u think the families actually watch true crime... every single video.. you'd have to be as nonfuckgiving as me to watch ur own shitshow on RUclips lmao every channel every story about it.. secondly. What effect do those words have? As a member of the field, I can say for a fact ones sensitivity definitely decreases with exposure.... this is hours of research and editing. This channel due to its analysis actually divulges I to every word said.. no offense to the channel but its weird to me that you love this generic auto-response.
