Learned something new! I don't know why but it never occurred to me I could make a selection off of a channel. Going to be a big time saver going forward.
Brilliant. I'm such a noob to PS though it took me forever to even resize my photo and your image to become same size! Followed it all right up until the 'applying colour layer' at the end. Totally lost me in the clicking alt+layer and making the color filter work. My image is already coloured anyway tso not important. I've subscribed for more.
Maybe, we add one more step to this technique: - make a displacement map from the texture and apply it on the logo to have little distortion on the edges of the logo...
I dig the graphics and I'll definitely check out your page but this tutorial is way too fast for me to follow. I'm an illustrator guy and I'm super rusty on my photoshop skills anyway as my studio burned down a couple years ago so this didn't help me. I'll have to find a more laid back tutorial. Dialed back fro 11 to about 6 should do it. Can't wait to get up to speed again as I have 30 projects on the back burner and they all need this treatment.
Because you can't upscale raster artwork going large with a high resolution is always worthwhile in case you decide you want to have it printed as a poster or something.
Great effect but you go over everything too quickly which makes me think this is better suited to experienced and confident users of Photoshop rather than novices like myself.

What is normally the best size of file to create photoshop art. I always did 6x6 in with 300ppi but I sometimes don't like the result
