I lived in Iceland in early 90s and 2 of my kids were born there. Son spent a semester there in 2010 and he loved it. Enjoy your travels there when you go.
wow this really got me thinking... I should write out my answers to the sort of things that the cops asked you, because I have a voice disability/ selective mutism, so this got me thinking about how to make a gameplay/safety plan for police interactions.
(Note, each State has different laws.) Most States are not "Stop and Identify" States. So the only way you are required to show any ID, or even have any interaction with the police, is in the case where you have actually broken the law. I.E. speeding, or other infractions similar in nature. If all they are doing is "investigating", you are not obligated to even answer their questions if you don't want to. And if you are getting charged with something, you can still choose to invoke the 5th amendment. Not being cooperative is not breaking a law. Will it make their job harder? Yes. Is it illegal? No. Will it make your situation probably last a bit longer and cause annoyances? Probably. But you are not required to speak with them if you have done nothing wrong. In addition to having your questions written down like you mentioned, it might be a good idea to have a lawyer on a small retainer who can be available to assist you, and even speak for you, should the need ever arise. I wish you the best and hope you never have to deal with police period, especially given your disability.

I just wanna say as a male about your age how cool it is to see you be so self sufficient and ok being alone. Plus the abilities you have like changing your oil. Your parents (dad) did a great job raising you. All the girls I try to date cannot be alone. Can’t do basic things for themselves like oil change. So props.
Keep in mind some of us girls weren't taught any of that stuff.. even if we asked and wanted to learn :( Not all dads are cool and progressive enough to think it's important to teach their daughters this stuff. I'd kill to be able to change my oil or use power tools. It's hard when men look down on us for not knowing this stuff, when they could also just teach and help us learn. Just a friendly devils' advocate over here

My last gf did boxing lessons eith me and learned to work on the ace cars and learned to shoot guns etc. it made it awesome bc we got to do it together and that was attractive. Makes it to where I don’t have to find alone time to do the things I love. I get to do what I love with someone I love and that’s perfect. And ofc I have to be open to do things she likes. I tried pottery and scrap booking etc. it’s not a one way thing. And it’s just my person opinion or preferences. I know lots of people who want to have their hobbies separated from their relationship time. So it’s all relative.

I’m really interested in learning to 4x4 so I’d love to cross paths with someone who had more knowledge than me and we could get out on the trails together. Forgot to mention that I am very sadden by the selling on your family's land. That must have come as an enormous blow. Talking with the new owner was wonderful and getting to explain your love for that land so that she sells to you, in time. I have a childhood home I would be beyond blown away to own! I think everyone should take opportunities to travel places they've wanted to go--I feel like it's a partially wasted life to not even try (I know plenty of people who never left their home town). I was able to literally tour the world with the U.S. Air Force, and while there were some beautiful sights in Iceland and Greenland, I would rather have not visited those places. I just so vehemently hate cold weather of any type, and it was BITTER cold in both those places. The cold immediately killed any enjoyment of the sights for me. I know I'm in a very small minority of people. My wife says it must typical of "people from your planet"...I love the heat. Even now, I'm miserable as evening temps are dipping into the 50's (I live in Del Rio, TX...which apparently still isn't far enough south for me, LOL).

maybe you can get a flight to Amsterdam and then fly to Iceland from there, Amsterdam is sort of the 'hub' like Atlanta or NY is for Europe, or NY to Ireland an then Ireland to Iceland (?) There are some inexpensive flights to Ireland from NY (or used to be! My son's fiancé is Irish and her family flies there often) The mandates are going to continue to cause staffing problems for the foreseeable future. I know someone in the industry and rumor is that the prolonged high elevation exposure is causing problems...so that's why so many of them are trying to steer clear. I hope you find a way! 🙏🏻💕
Take loads of money to Iceland...like 20 pounds sterling for a burger..... 8 - 9 pounds for a beer... Shop at super markets. Also. If u hire a car and go to the capital they charge a lot for parking anywhere... There are parking zones with different prices. so ensure u have free parking where u stay or get the airport bus....unless u r travelling around. Sun hardly gets up in winter. Have fun. Do the golden triangle trip.

Those officers were nice not giving you a ticket for registration , but naturally anyone would be shaken especially someone with your sensitivity.. If you mean the Covid tests you can normally find a test site in Walgreens or any public health dep but I’d call first :) they’ve also got some you can buy and do at home but I know they’re mostly sold out and won’t be restocked real soon in my area (Washington state)

I hope it all works out Sweetie. 3 police? I'm shocked. Whenever I see American police shows they only have one police person show up at first. Great that they were nice to you and awesome that they just advised on your registration 😆😍. Funny that people call the police though on someone living in their van who is parked on their street. I'm in Australia and have never seen anyone live in a car or van. No doubt it happens but I cannot see myself calling the police! The person would have to be doing something illegal. I once had 3 police at my door who were looking for someone called Michael, who used to live in our unit apparently. My hubby had lived in this unit since he was a teenager so by this stage no Michael had lived there for 15yrs or so. As they were leaving I asked them if they would shoot the huntsman spiders in the stairway! Never let a great opportunity disappear! But they only laughed...😣😣😣😂😂😂😂😂. There are some inexpensive flights to Ireland from NY (or used to be! My son's fiancé is Irish and her family flies there often) The mandates are going to continue to cause staffing problems for the foreseeable future. I know someone in the industry and rumor is that the prolonged high elevation exposure is causing problems...so that's why so many of them are trying to steer clear. I hope you find a way! 🙏🏻💕

Take loads of money to Iceland...like 20 pounds sterling for a burger..... 8 - 9 pounds for a beer... Shop at super markets. Also. If u hire a car and go to the capital they charge a lot for parking anywhere... There are parking zones with different prices. so ensure u have free parking where u stay or get the airport bus....unless u r travelling around. Sun hardly gets up in winter. Have fun. Do the golden triangle trip.

Those officers were nice not giving you a ticket for registration , but naturally anyone would be shaken especially someone with your sensitivity.. I am the same way , sensitive and need my time alone . That little chair you pulled out looked comfortable and takes NO space ..May i ask where you got it and if you found a way to Iceland yet ? Also next time you change your oil and the bolt want budge ..just take a hammer or something heavy and tap the wrench . :)

If you mean the Covid tests you can normally find a test site in Walgreens or any public health dep but I’d call first :) they’ve also got some you can buy and do at home but I know they’re mostly sold out and won’t be restocked real soon in my area (Washington state)

3 police? I'm shocked. Whenever I see American police shows they only have one police person show up at first. Great that they were nice to you and awesome that they just advised on your registration 😆😍. Funny that people call the police though on someone living in their van who is parked on their street. I'm in Australia and have never seen anyone live in a car or van. No doubt it happens but I cannot see myself calling the police! The person would have to be doing something illegal.
I once had 3 police at my door who were looking for someone called Michael, who used to live in our unit apparently. My hubby had lived in this unit since he was a teenager so by this stage no Michael had lived there for 15yrs or so. As they were leaving I asked them if they would shoot the huntsman spiders in the stairway! Never let a great opportunity disappear! But they only laughed...😣😣😣😂😂😂😂😂.
