Thank you so much for continuing to share your experience with chronic pain. Your story with scoliosis and spinal fusion is so similar to mine, it was eye opening and reminded me that I’m not alone. It’s so hard to remember that sometimes
I’m learning how to move again and it’s not easy. To accept chronic pain and move through it is an awful lesson to learn, but it’s not a mundane struggle. It unlocks so much wisdom and so much grace. The nature of healing is held inside our body, it’s a wonderful thing
“You cannot heal from suffering until you have experienced it to the full” :)

Hey girl, thank you so much for your lovely comment! Sometimes it’s easy to forget that others go through the same thing & I feel alone with it too sometimes!
We just have to keep doing what we can🤍

Yes! The most important thing is to keep moving through it. The healing happens once you find the strength to accept the pain. Resisting something that’s inside of you only causes more damage. It’s so much easier said than done though.
Remember how strong you are for what you’ve overcome!!

Also check out Twisted Outreach Project on youtube, they have a bunch of somatic exercise routines that have been helping me a ton with pain

Due to my parents negligence, I got my scoliosis correction at the age of 30 for which I had the minimum correction. I really regret and feel pity for myself. Wud I have been undergone surgery at early age it wud have been corrected. I really hate my parents for this.

I don’t know why I started crying watching your video. I felt alone and no one understood the pain I’m suffering with. Thank you for sharing!

WOW!!! Thank you Kelsey. I have not heard from my psychotherapy patient for a couple of years, but last time I spoke to her, she was doing well and even said she was "feeling loved". Her scoliosis surgery came in the middle of her psychotherapy for physical/mental abuse which made it more difficult to accept that she was loved. She was an intelligent pretty child/adolescent, but as some (most) girls - she focused on her faults, and having surgical scars and the continued pain, which you spoke of, made healing from her psychological scars much more complicated.
Of course she said that she would not watch your videos, just as she said she hated me and would never come back/continue therapy. Of course she did watch your videos and did complete her psychotherapy, even continuing with me as an adult.
I am glad you shared about not having the rods removed - this answers a question for me (and one that she had herself), and one never knows when/where I will bump into a former patient.
So glad you are doing well and thank you again for sharing. DrM

Hi! Great video. I had my scoliosis surgery 12 years ago as well, when I was 22 years old. I didn’t go through any physiotherapy afterwards unfortunately. Because of my work I have to sit in front of the computer most of the time. I have military neck which causes migraines. I’m glad I went through the surgery in terms of my posture or possible future health problems related to that but sometimes I really miss waking up without a pain. Very informative video, thanks again :)

Hey thank you for watching, I’m glad you liked it! I’m the same, I have no regrets but I do wish I didn’t have to have pain all day too xx

Hi just a suggestion for pain you may want to try hyperbaric oxygen therapy. It can help with pain but you need to do about two weeks of sessions before you notice the benifits Some people do well with it. But then it don't always work cos everybody is different. Just an idea.
