    15 years of cervical pain off and on. Most times reactivated by chiros. Gotta be careful about it, I've seen many good ones as well though. I've done stem cell infections with ozone in c5-c6 and c6-c7. It helps but you gotta do a lot of support and my symptoms came back after a massage therapist twisted my neck without warning after I said not to. Red light, stretches and massage really make the biggest difference for me

    Thank you for the simple and clear explanation and exercises. My arm and fingers to my right hand started to having tingling and numbness ,for about 4 months now,-and it was just confirmed that I have C4 and 5 herniated disc’s. Doing this exercises are helpful and already have improvement. Lot less numbing. It’s never one thing though, what causing the problem, I am so concerned with nutrition and deficiency and degeneration 😂 Good I didn’t go to medical school, I would have every symptom in the book!

      @@bobthephysio Hey Bob. Same activities, what is physical work: waitressing and gardening in free time. When I used to be a good person and worked out 5 times a week, eventually had shoulder problem, pain in the center , pain at night. Not knowing better that time I had a cortisol shot in there , but only once. Not any major injuries. 4 years ago on my other hand developed trigger thumb and I couldn’t bend it till about now😂 it seems to be getting better. All
      My complaints are finger related.
      Also now have a lot less numbing the arms over night…. Doing anti inflammatory diet and what not I can think of. Not wanting to have surgery, not like I am scared but would like to stay all intact in my body 😂😂😂

    I first experienced this in 2020. I’m sure it was due to long hours in front of my computer while working from home. The towel exercises helped a lot plus cold compress and anti inflammatory meds. At its worst I could only walk a few steps due to the agony I was in. It was a long 4 months but I recovered without surgery. Now in April 2024 I am going through it again though not in anywhere like the pain I was in before. I am now trying to manage it better doing these exercises hoping that things don’t get worse before they get better.

    • @bobthephysio
      @bobthephysio  7 месяцев назад

      Doing the above exercise are not a bad idea but it seems there is underlying issue that need to be address and improve. I’m a simple way I would suggest to avoid just chasing the pain and the symptoms !!

    Hello. I had done physical therapy for shoulder tendinitis at the same time tx for recovery of Tibia Plateau Fx. My cervical area got out of line trying to do 3-4 days Christmas with renting a car,( my Son did) as mine toast- not driven in a year. Rested up, got hotel, took n wrapped the adult children n Grandchildren presents. Drove 200 miles and walked with cane over 4 days 5,300 steps. Did sleep extra and tipped for transport of all items. I did it. Had a wonderful time w/ 12 others.
    But knee swelling, popping out as lost ACL stabilizer anterior ligament in 1999. So flat for 2 weeks as I herniated L3. But last year in nursing home for knee n COVID came. So no yearly family event for me Sept-2020- Jan 21. Then therapy till July with spinal injection
    Now better, yet cervical and my shoulder bursitis really acting up. Did 85-200 steps. Tried to increase to 500. Then last 4 days out errands
    Joined friends and got in 2,400 in 3 days. Body can’t handle it. Also went to store on my own up n down off riding cart n carried $50 food. Neck, shoulder tendinitis n swollen knee again. So I’m certain these exercises will get me better. Plus thank you for reminding me takes 10-12 weeks to recover. I really do appreciate your video as did some of these with. Whiplash 20 years ago. God bless you n keep COVID away from your family. In Jesus name, Amen. 👍 Joan Cramer

    I have a herniated c7. 6 weeks ago, I woke up with a stiff neck, ignored it and did explosive movements. The next day I woke up for a month of excruciating pain and several stages of arm weakness. Took anti-inflammatory for a week, put heat pads, omega3. The pain subsided. But I still can't lift my arm fast. I can lift weights slowly and if I'm focused, but my arm doesn't respond to fast explosive push ups. Now I'm starting again with anti-inflammatory, omega3, heat pads and adding daily stretches for the neck and back. I hope I can have my arm back fast.

      Hey man, I would be happy to help. What is your daily activity and your hobbies like ? And is there any particular activities that aggravate your pain and discomfort? Bob

    • @AlirezaRastgoo37
      @AlirezaRastgoo37 3 года назад +5

      @@bobthephysio thanks for your answer. my daily activities are: • my work with computer some days long some short but these days since i feel better i sit more. • exercise routines for my disc (morning and night and sometimes 15 minutes yoga) i use my phone and computer a lot and i try my best to keep my cellphone always up. my hobbies are guitar, sketch, mobile and i left gym after the acute pain which made me sleep for 1 complete month. and YES! there is. when i sit like more than 15 minutes, when i stand that much and when i sleep. my pain is so sensitive, for example the difference between comfort and having pain all night is about 1 inch movement for my head on pillow. in these 5 months i did physiotherapy for my neck and back (those electric pads and laser). I've been visiting 4 doctors, took medicine (like: Meloxicam (i still use this at nights), Pregabalin, Duloxetine) and the pain just didn't get any better since the 3rd month. the pain is not that much to make me cry but it comes too sensitive from 2 sources and its killing me. (my pain is mostly on the left side of my body, my left hand, left shoulder and sometimes hip).
      I am so sorry for writing too long i know its gonna be boring but wanted to explain the situation completely. i am thankful for your patience and time it means a lot to me.
      Regards, Alireza

      @@AlirezaRastgoo37 no worries man, happy to help any one from Iran 👌 سلام خوبی :) I have couple of questions that would give me a better picture what would be the best for you to start with. Do you get any tingling sensation pain down to your arm ? What's your age any history of injury? like car accident, whiplash? and how many hours a day you are working with laptop & phone ? Babak

      @@bobthephysio Man you’re my favorite RUclipsr from now on! الان خیلی بهترم بابک! :) cool 🔥 yes, sometimes i feel the tingling in my left arm down to fingertips and sometime it comes with a pain with an unknown source. A scattered pain, i usually twist and stretch my arm to feel better.
      About injury i should tell yes. I am 26 (1995) and i had an injury when i was 19 yo. I was a pro volleyball player and i got injured in my right shoulder (Ruptured muscle and tendon strain. I cant really remember the muscle’s name but it was something like “Spertomenatus”) the doctor injected something straight into my shoulder 4 or 5 times back in the days said it’s gonna block your nerves and end the pain. 2 years ago i met a physiotherapist and she said “your nerves still don’t work well and you got a mild spinal deviation”.
      Average 3 to 5 hours daily (this was like 8 or 10 before) but some days like today it grows to 7 or 8. I do stretches after every 30-35 minutes of sitting. The pain won’t let me sit more. Its like pushing vertebras on each other. After that it comes to my neck, shoulder and arm.

      @@AlirezaRastgoo37 there are couple of things that you should start doing daily. since your pain and discomfort has been there for more than 12 weeks, it's more like a sensitivity. (cheonic pain is different from acute pain) you need to stop y focusing on your neck ( I know its not as easy as saying it) !! I give you couple of tips that gonna help you to improve that sensitivity. 1st, your should stop those stretches, they just gonna give you short term releave. 2nd, you have to start a rehab routine that get your stringer (not only focus on the neck) you need to build upper body strenght and mobility) that helps you not only improve the pain but also gain your confidence. Don't worry too much about the physiotherapist who told your spine has a "deviation" that's only an opinion. You are young and our body is adaptable if you ease of and just think about the injury and pain it slow than your recovery !! I'll send you a video that your I would like you to follow daily 2 times, while you following this routine, plz do not check your neck, ( don't test it whether is sore or not) & no more stretch you need to strengthen it 👌💪🏻 check this video and let me know if you have any questions. I didn't know that I have injured my neck, however sometimes I feel stiffness or sharp pain In neck..but thats not the main problem, I don't feel the same strength in my left shoulder to arm compared to the right side,I feel nerves are not working properly in left side. Left elbow , shoulder and arm is weak when I lift weights and don't feel any strength when I squeeze my biceps or triceps. And my left shoulder joint and collar bone have sharp pain when I try exercises.and I feel nerve pinching in my left trap muscle and left shoulder,which makes my left arm weaker. How can I get the strength back in left side ? Please help

      I mean its a neck injury , I visited one Doctor , he checked my left arm squeeze power and biceps strength,he said all problem are coming from neck,and he even mentioned its a cervical spondylosis. Yes I am right handed,left arm and left side weakness due to pinched nerve I guess. Nerves connected from neck to left shoulder and down to elbow and fingers are main reason of weakness in left side. I can feel it. Doctor gave me some isometrics like you showed,and some prescribed pain killers,but nothing has improved.

On the chin-tuck you can simultaneously pull the back of your head up and forward with the other hand. On the towel-pulls I find that pulling the towel UP is great for decompressing them disks. I keep hearing that 80-90% of the time the cervical herniated disc resolves itself within 8-12 weeks. Yet 90% of the comments of RUclips on this topic show people have been suffering for months and years with no improvement. Most end up having surgery. The McKenzie exercises makes my pain worse, both in the neck and arm.
