That is so true, we are quick to buy this and that from corporations and people that don't care about us. But when it comes to supporting our own in whatever capacity that is (businesses, people making REAL music, etc.) we fall short every time and I just can't understand that. But I must also add if you start a business just because we're all black doesn't mean that you should be unprofessional. You should treat every person that walks into your business as a customer, not a cousin.

This speaks to me so hard. You have to own your own thing. It does not mean it needs to be a Shaka Zulu shop or that the business itself needs a "black" mantra on it, just needs to be owned by black and largely directed to black people. Here is what I mean, most whites and even some blacks will argue that the average clothing, or perfume or show or food etc is geared for all peoples in America.
That is a lie, it is geared toward the majority, and not just because there are more of them, but because they have the power, the entire infrastructure was built to cater to their culture and race. Sure there are many who are poor in white communities but every society has those that do not succeed for various reasons, it does not take away the fact that most products and media is geared toward White Male/female/and more recent homosexual peoples.
We should do the same with our businesses to our people, of course the services are accessible for every person of any race or creed but make it for your people first.
Vegan restaurants are for....Vegans but guess what, other peoples can eat there as well.

Larry Jake Good points. I believe, like a football team, you build it from the 'inside, out.' We need to MANUFACTURE, and DISTRIBUTE, our NEEDS, first! Things that we use every day: Toothpaste, deodorant, underwear, shoes. The majority of our businesses cater to our WANTS, (things that we can do with, or without). I can go on and on, but I'll stop, because I believe in SEPARATION. Without being a pessimist, I believe that trying to build our utopia here with our open enemies is a waste of time and energy. We need to look for our new home, because the USA is done..........my beliefs.

This was dope! But as a side note my childhood superhero was Spawn. Mainly because he looked like me in terms of what he looks like as a human. His goal from what I watched as a kid was that he wanted to destroy the devil who oppressed him. The other superheroes we're accustomed to what cool but not necessarily inspiring IMO.

I would really recommend glendon cameron here on youtube a lot of this stuff is universal. Concepts like not waiting on other peoples approval for u to do shit. Lots of people around u really dont want u to do anything because it makes them look and feel bad for being mediocre.

Before we focus on "owning" I would like to see a discussion about the elephant in the room, which is the fact when Black People "owned" ot become significant owners, it was and has been taken from them or they were killed and it was taken from them. You can look at Black WallStreet and think of the ripple effect for generations but you can look more recently at the music library of 2Pac aka Tupac aka Makveli, Pimp C aka Sweet Jones or Hip Hop Music in general. We can keep talking about making something and owning but can you keep it? Can you ensure it will be used for betterment and not for detriment? That is the discussion we need.

Youre not wrong. That definitely needs to be addressed. But one has to go thru the vulnerable atages first. Then learn to protect what they own.
